This study was to examine whether high school students' academic motivation and learning strategies influence their competence. Of the 600 high school students surveyed from 3 high schools in two metropolitan cities, Korea, 489 completed and returned the questionnaires yielding a total response rate of 81.50%. The final sample consisted of 399 males (81.6%) and 82 females (16.8%). Among the final sample, 113 students were gifted, and 376 students were non-gifted. Their average age was 17.20 years. Measures of students' competence (i.e., cognitive competence, and social competence), academic motivation (i.e., intrinsic motivation to know, toward accomplishment, and to experience stimulation, and extrinsic motivation identified, introjected, and external regulation, and amotivation), and learning strategies (i.e., metacognition, self-monitoring, strategy formation) Spearman's rho(${\rho}$) indicated that students' competence was positively associated with intrinsic (i.e., to know, toward accomplishment, to experience stimulation) and extrinsic (i.e., identified, introjected) motivation, and learning strategies. However, students' competence was negatively associated with amotivation. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses showed that intrinsic motivation (i.e., to experience stimulation), extrinsic motivation(i.e., external regulation), and learning strategies (i.e., strategy formation) were the crucial contributors for enhancing students' competence. Results are discussed in relation to theoretical implications and school settings.
The study investigated and analyzed the middle school student's science textbook learning methods and strategies. The Preferred Mehtod of Study (PMOS) and a clinical interview method were utilized. Results indicate that there is a meaningful and significant positive correlation between the number of times students read a chapter of the science textbook and their science grade point. Students do not tend to alter learning strategies dependent upon the subject matter studied, but easily alter stratgies dependent upon the types of the test. Most students could not construct "organiztional tools" such as a summary, a chart, a talbe, or a figure when they study textbook, but might pursure and prefer only one method when they choose their learning strategise. Very few students (less than 1%) among those queried consciously try to connect between prior knowledge and new concepts in the textbook. Even though students choose the textbook for learning science in the beginning, they prefer to stick to reference and exercise materials. Therefore, detailed and direct studise of the student's learning methods and strategies, as well as research on cognitive psychology and motivational psychology, are necessary in order to develop a new textbook with student-based learning materials. By understanding the student's konwledge level through investigation of his or her learning style, an effective science education program can be realized. Finally, the role of the textbook as a tezching/learning material can be maximized by investigating and understanding the student's learning method and strategy with emphasis on reciprocal action between textbooks.

The objectives of this study was to apprehend the displaying components by comparing and analyzing the ten types of construction textbooks used in Technical high schools by elaboration theory by Ferigeluth, and to supply preliminary data for the following revising textbooks. To achieve them, first, comparable units were excerpted by analyzing between the national textbooks of 7th curriculum and the new revised curriculum used in Technical high schools. Second, each five types of 7th and new curriculum textbooks were compared and analyzed by seven requisites in the Elaboration theory by Reigeluth. As the results of the study, first, elaborating process like conceptual, procedural, and theoretical elaboration has been applied to the different subjects according to their properties. Second, cognitive strategy activator among the seven strategies was widely used. Whereas, analogy was not applied to all the ten types of the text books. In addition, Learning prerequisite sequence was presented with only simple picture and explanation, and it was inadequately used in practice. Third, summary was more used in 7th curriculum text than the new revised text. Fourth, six strategy components were widely used to all texts except construction and materials in the five types of texts. Lastly synthesis of theory and practice was more used than summary in theory subjects and learner control was more used in the subject of the synthesis of theory and practice.

Robot manipulator is a highly nonlinear-time varying system. Therefore, a lot of control theory has been applied to the system. Robot manipulator has two types of control; one is path planning, another is path tracking. In this paper, we select the path tracking, and for this purpose, propose the intelligent control¬ler which is combined with fuzzy logic and neural network. The fuzzy logic provides an inference morphorlogy that enables approximate human reasoning to apply to knowledge-based systems, and also provides a mathematical strength to capture the uncertainties associated with human cognitive processes like thinking and reasoning. Based on this fuzzy logic, the fuzzy logic controller(FLC) provides a means of converhng a linguistic control strategy based on expert knowledge into automahc control strategy. But the construction of rule-base for a nonlinear hme-varying system such as robot, becomes much more com¬plicated because of model uncertainty and parameter variations. To cope with these problems, a auto-tuning method of the fuzzy rule-base is required. In this paper, the GA-based Fuzzy-Neural control system combining Fuzzy-Neural control theory with the genetic algorithm(GA), that is known to be very effective in the optimization problem, will be proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed control system will be demonstrated by computer simulations using a two degree of freedom robot manipulator.
Loss experience can bring more negative impact to the person, if experienced in a younger period. This study examined how self-esteem mediates the effect of emotional expression and maladaptive emotion regulation strategies regarding one's loss during adolescence among college students on depression. The data of 380 college students entails what kind of loss was experienced, how the level of self-esteem mediated the effect of emotional expression and maladaptive emotion regulation strategy after loss experience on depression; and it was analyzed with SPSS 21.0 and Amos 21.0. The results showed that emotional expression about loss experiences was negatively correlated with depression (${\beta}=-.180$, p<.01), and maladaptive emotion regulation strategies showed a positive correlation with depression (${\beta}=.266$, p<.001). The emotional expression of loss experiences decreased the level of depression by increasing the level of self - esteem, and maladaptive emotion regulation strategy of loss experience increased depression level by lowering self-esteem level. Therefore, it is conceivable to assume that the more people articulate on various emotional experiences after their loss and think positively about themselves, and the less they criticize for themselves, the less likely they are to experience depression while maintaining high self-esteem.
The purpose of this study is to contribute to the revitalization of the 6th industry by presenting suggestions on how to utilize agricultural food mobile SNS and how to purchase intention. In this study, the mobile SNS, which is rapidly emerging as a new marketing channel, was applied to the agricultural and food sector to conduct a empirical analysis. First of all, the characteristics of agricultural food-related mobile SNS that affect the purchasing intent of agricultural food were derived, and the indirect effects of consumer attitudes were analyzed in relation to the perceived characteristics of the mobile SNS for the agricultural food and the purchase intention. First, information quality and ease of access have a significant effect on cognitive attitude (+), and playfulness, information quality, ease of access have a significant effect on emotional attitude (+), and playfulness, interactivity have a significant effect on an acting attitude (+). Second, information quality, accessibility, and playfulness have a significant effect on purchase intention (+), and the quality of information has the greatest influence. Third, it was analyzed that information quality, interactivity, ease of accessibility, and playfulness have an indirect effect of consumer attitude in the path of purchase through consumer attitude. From the results of this study, it was confirmed that efforts to improve the quality of information in the case of mobile SNS related to agricultural and food products are needed first, that to improve the purchasing intent, we need to establish a mobile SNS operating strategy and marketing strategy for enhance consumer attitudes in a favorable. On the other hand, related education and system cooperation methods should be prepared to enable agricultural and food companies to use mobile SNS as a marketing tool.

The present study is a conceptual replication of O'Grady, Lee, and Choo's (2003) earlier study designed to investigate two hypotheses (linear distance hypothesis vs. structural distance hypothesis) in relation to L2 Korean learners' processing of Korean subject and object relative clauses (RCs) in a scholarly attempt to explicate Keenan and Comrie's (1977) Noun Phrase Accessibility Hierarchy (NPAH). In addition, the current study is intended to explore any potential role of working memory capacity (WMC) in the processing of Korean subject and/or object RCs. Chinese-speaking learners of Korean taking a language course offered at a local university in Korea participated in this experimental study. Among those recruited, only 23 learners completed the experimental tasks appropriately according to the specific instructions provided on each task, and thus, subsequent statistical analyses were conducted on their data. Fifteen Korean NSs were also recruited for the control group. Two experimental tasks were administerd to the participants: one picture selection task containing the same test items used in O'Grady et al.'s study to measure their processing of subject-object RCs and an operation span (OSPAN) task to measure their WMC. Somewhat differently from O'Grady et al.'s findings, the participating Chinese learners of Korean performed significantly better on object RCs than on subject RCs, seemingly lending support to the linear distance hypothesis. Further analyses, however, suggested that the results in favor of, or relative ease of processing, object relative clauses were due, most likely, to the learners' excessive use of the canonical sentence strategy, which also led to nonsignificant correlations between WMC and learner performance on the picture selection task.

This study has two research objectives related to end-user computing (EUC). One of the research objectives was to investigate the current status of EUC of Korean firms. Another research objective was to examine the relationship between individual differences of end-users and EUC success. Using survey data from 752 end-users of 23 firms, the surrent status of EUC and the relationship between individual differences of end-users and EUC success were investigated. The current status of EUC was examined from six perspectives: 1). what is the characteristics of EUC strategy of Korean firms, 2). what are the individual characteristics of end-users in Korean Firms, #0. what are the characteristics of tasks performed by end-users using computer, 4). what are the application a areas of EUC, 5). How end-users are satisfied with the support of firms, 6). what are system usage and satisfaction of end-users. It was also foud that individual differences of end-users are related to EUC success. More specifically, it wat shown that the male gender, younger age, higher level of education, higher rank and organizational tenure, higher math ability, thinking type of cognitive style, positive and optimistic attitudes toward computer, more experience with computer, more computer education and knowledge are individual differences variables associated with EUC success. The results of stepwise regression analysis suggested that the individual difference variables accounted for 14%, 25%, 39% and 30% of the variances of four EUC success variables, satisfaction for outcome, satisfaction for ability, frequency of computer use, and the number of tasks, respectively. These empirical findings suggest that EUC managers should consider individual differences of end-users in managing EUC, such as education, training, support, and human resource management, to maximize potential benefits of EUC.

This study investigated definition of care farming in which advanced countries in agricultural industry such as Netherlands and Belgium increase their interest and investment, and established a strategy for settlement and development of care farming industry in Korea. For achieving purpose of the study, literature review was implemented to analyze policy, system, related law, workforce of advanced countries in care farming, and experts' conference which consists of 9 representatives such as professors, researchers in areas of agriculture, health, education, horticulture, animal-assisted therapy was implemented. Also survey was conducted targeting 165 people of practitioners in care farming industry. For the result, the concept of care farming in Korea was defined as 'Industry and activity which promotes psychological social physical cognitive health of every Korean people by utilizing agricultural resources(plants, livestock, rural environment, rural culture) or related activity and output', and the purpose, resources, targets of care farming was determined by the definition.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the types of middle school students’ responses to dinosaur extinction inconsistent with the students’ previous conceptions. The types of texts about ‘the cause of dinosaur extinction’ were developed; one that was based on students’ previous ideas, while the other was based on conflicting materials. The students’ responses to the conflict materials were classified into six types: rejection, reinterpretation, uncertainty, belief decrease, partial theory change, and conceptual change. These results show that the use of conflict materials does not always promote conceptual change. Therefore, teachers will be able to help students change their conceptions in science classrooms by understanding students’ various responses to conflict materials and designing instructional strategy concretely.
