Unmarried College Students' Knowledge of Sex and Cognition of Prenatal Education (미혼 대학생의 성지식과 태교인식 조사)

  • This study investigated unmarried college students' knowledge of sex and cognition of prenatal education. It also aimed to provide insights into how college students' awareness of prenatal education may be raised and to make future married couples practice prenatal education. This study used a descriptive correlational research design. Participants were 346 college students in North and South Jeolla Province. Descriptive statistics with the SPSS WIN 12.0 program were used to analyze the collected data. Important findings were as follows: The mean knowledge of sex was .55, which was near moderate level. The mean cognition of prenatal education was 4.08, which was near high level. Knowledge of sex was influenced significantly by sex and major, whereas cognition of prenatal education was influenced significantly by sex. Thus, it was found that when considering how to raise the cognition of prenatal education and sexual knowledge of sex, both gender and major are important factors to consider.

  • This study was designed to examine students' utility cognition and related variables on the ‘understanding of family and work’ in the Home Economics course. The subjects were 503 middle and high school students, and university students in Jeonju city. The results are as follows : 1) The level of utility cognition on the ‘attitude of sexuality’ was found to be relatively high in the Home Economics course. 2) There were gender difference in the evaluation of learning environment. and grade differences in the evaluation of learning environment, participation in class of Home Economics, needs for Home Economics, evaluation of learning environment. 3) The utility cognition of Home Economics course significantly differed by gender, participation in class of Home Economics. needs for Home Economics, evaluation of learning environment. and Perception of Home Economics. 4) The needs for Home Economics emerged as the most important variable in the utility cognition of Home Economics course.

The Influence of Brand Previous Knowledge, Previous Brand Attitude, Perceived Quality on VMD Cognition and Attitude (브랜드 사전지식, 사전 브랜드 태도, 지각된 품질이 VMD 인지와 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The major aim of this study was to find out the influence of brand previous knowledge, previous brand attitude, perceived quality on VMD cognition and attitude. Eight brands were selected as experimental stimuli brands for this study. A total of 320 questionnaires were obtained from college students living in Daegu. Using factor analysis, each of brand previous knowledge, previous brand attitude, perceived quality, VMD attitude were extracted one factor.VMD cognition were divided into 5 factors; Coordination, Attractiveness, Fashionability, Fitness, and Functionality. The results revealed that previous brand attitude and perceived quality affected VMD cognition and VMD attitude, while brand previous knowledge did not affect VMD cognition and VMD attitude. Therefore, when companies related to fashion investigate the effect of VMD, they should consider the previous brand attitude and perceived quality of their brands.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a basis for exterior space improving in university campus in terms of upgrading the quality of university education environment by analysing user's cognition and physical feature about campus exterior space. For this, this study was survey six major university students in Busan city about perception of campus exterior space, and analyzes the user's cognition by using natural-language vocabulary analysis for qualitative approach. Next, this study analyzes the physical feature of campus exterior space by investigating user's intensive using spaces and preferred, non-preferred spaces in their universities, then propose the improved direction of campus exterior space by comparing the analyzed data of user's cognition and physical feature. A SPSS20 program is used for the data analysis and the sample sizes are 171 college students.

Effects of Irrational Parenthood Cognition, Family Support, and Resilience on Depression of Infertile Women (난임 여성의 비합리적 부모 신념, 가족지지, 회복탄력성이 우울에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: To determine effects of irrational parenthood cognition, family support, and resilience on depression in infertile women. Methods: Subjects were 118 infertile women who agreed to participate in this study. Data were collected from April 16 to July 31, 2018. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson's correlation and multiple regression with SPSS WIN 23.0 program. Results: Depression significantly differed according to the burden of treatment cost and presence of people giving stress. Depression showed significantly positive correlation with irrational parenthood cognition and significantly negative correlations with family support and resilience. Factors affecting depression were irrational parenthood cognition, family support, and resilience. Irrational parenthood cognition had the greatest effect on depression. These three variables explained 35.8% of total variance. Conclusion: Irrational parenthood cognition, family support, and resilience affected depression of infertile women, with irrational parenthood cognition having the greatest effect. Therefore, it is important to develop and implement programs that can reduce irrational parenthood cognition and increase family support and resilience in order to lower depression of infertile women. A Study on Credit Card Cognition and Use of College Students (대학생들의 신용카드 인식 및 사용에 관한 연구)

  • This study has been peformed on the consumption tendency, and knowledge and cognition of credit cards among college students. A total of 327 subjects from the college students was surveyed in Pusan area. The major findings of this study were summerized as follows; First, the rate of credit card possession of the students was 19.6%. The card possession showed significantly different in age, personal expense, income. Second, the level of knowledge of the credit card was low(23.1 points). Also, the level of knowledge was significantly different in sex, age, major, personal expense, income and credit card ownership. Third, the cognition of credit cards was medium(51.3 points). The cognition of the credit cards was significantly different only in the card possession. Fourth, the behavior of credit card was not significantly different in the group. Fifth, there were significant relationships between the knowlege and cognition. This result implied that the group with higer levels of knowlege tended to show more favor of credit cards. For the rational consumption of the college students, the students need to be educated about advantage and disadvantages of the credit cards.

  • The interest in the Fourth Industrial Revolution along with the development of ICT makes the software get the attention of the world. This phenomenon naturally leads to the concern for software education. Learning software coding is not easy for students whose major is in humanities or social sciences. This paper is a study of how cognition on software education affects to education of computational thinking. For research method, moderator variables were adopted on the proposed research model to prove that positive cognition can derive good influence on improvement of computational thinking. To find out moderator variables of the research model, we have conducted the questionnaire over three years for total of 928 students who took the software coding courses. As the result of the study, we proved that the positive cognition on software education can make the better improvement of computational thinking within proper moderator variables.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between depression status and cognitive function in the community female aged. Methods: This was a descriptive study. Data were collected using individual-based interviews from 120 senior female residents in the Hall for the aged in the city of S. The length of time for data collection was from June 18 to 29, 2007. The tool of data collection was Korean Version of Mini-Mental State Examination (Kwon & Park, 1989), Short-form Geriatric Depression Scale (Bae, 1996). Results: Depression & cognition showed significant differences according to age, regular exercise. The depression group scored significantly lower than the normal group in total score of cognition, orientation, memory recall. Conclusion: It is necessary to prepare the composite programs, which can improve not only cognition but depression in the community female aged.\

  • Purpose: The purpose of study was to identify the death orientation and cognition, attitude and nursing needs in hospice care according to training of volunteers. Method: Data were collected using a structured questionnaire which included characteristics, death orientation and cognition, attitude and nursing needs in hospice care. Data collection was done between June 1st and 20th, 2003. The participants in the study were the 86 trained hospice volunteers and 76 non-trained hospice volunteers. The data were analyzed using the SPSS/PC+ program. Result: The results are as follows: There was a significant difference in the average for the death orientation scores between non-trained hospice volunteers and trained hospice volunteers. There was a significant difference for the cognition of hospice and attitude, with higher responses being given by the hospice trained group. For the domains of nursing needs in hospice care, the highest response was to emotional needs. Conclusion: This study showed that training in hospice care was effective in changing the death orientation, cognition, attitude and nursing needs in hospice care.

  • The purpose of the study was to compare on the cognition and attitudes toward the mentally ill person among EMT College Student before and after Psychiatric Nursing Course Work. The data was collected twice before and after Psychiatric Nursing course work during one semester 16-weeks from 71 EMT department Students. Used measurements were self-reported questionnaires about cognition and CAMI questionnaires about attitudes. Analysis of data was done by frequence, percentage and t-test with SAS program. The cognition was changed over positively after then before Psychiatric Nursing Course. Especially, It was answered that needed to learning, caring and curing for mental illness. The study of attitudes for mentally ill person was that authoritarianism, benevolence and social restrictiveness were changed over positively but community mental health ideology was not changed. In conclusion, follwing the results of this study, the psychiatric nursing course work was influenced very much to changing of attitudes and cognition toward mentally ill person. Accordingly, psychiatric nursing curriculum will be offered and psychiatric educators have to emphasize the understanding of attitudes and cognition toward mentally ill person.
