  • As other major, students have difficulties to be successfully adapted to computer science major without some interest and skill to computer programming. In this paper, we try to find successful factors for computer science major freshmen students to computer programming. The factors we focused are programming experience before college entrance, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, application motivations to computer major, existence of mentors, satisfaction to his/her computer department, student's holland job aptitude code. After analysis, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, satisfaction to computer department, some holland job aptitude code are significant to their successful adaptation to computer major. Also, we found the holland job apptitude code is closely related to student's satisfaction to their major for engineering students including computer science students. Our analysis results will be a suggestion for designing computer science education program with students who enters college without some aptitude or preparation to his major.

  • A hyperbolic two-phase, two-fluid equation system developed in the previous work has been implemented in an existing nuclear safety analysis code, MARS. Although the implicit treatment of interfacial pressure force term introduced in momentum equation of the hyperbolic equation system is required to enhance the numerical stability, it is very difficult to implement in the code because it is not possible to maintain the existing numerical solution structure. As an alternative, two-step approach with stabilizer momentum equations has been selected. The results of a linear stability analysis by Von-Neumann method show the equivalent stability improvement with fully-implicit solution method. To illustrate the applicability, the new solution scheme has been implemented into the best-estimate thermal-hydraulic analysis code, MARS. This paper also includes the comparisons of the simulation results for the perturbation propagation and water faucet problems using both two-step method and the original solution scheme.

  • Recently, healthcare services have been developed and studied using various bio-signal analysis tools. Most bio-signal analysis studies utilize Matlab and R Programming. However, in order to apply the algorithm developed by Matlab and R Programming to the system, it is necessary to convert the source code. This paper proposes a smart interface that can skip source code conversion.

  • This paper proposes a theoretically rigorous analysis procedure that compares the position domain and range domain carrier-smoothed-code filters for differential GNSS positioning. Utilizing consistent error covariance formulation, it is shown that filtering in the position domain is, in theory, more advantageous than range domain carrier-smoothed-code filtering. It is also shown that if the visible satellite set does not change during a sufficiently long time interval the performances of position and range domain filters are similar.

  • In this paper, the relationships between code-share networks and performances in airline industry were analyzed by using Social Network Analysis (SNA). We first analyzed the schedule data from OAG (Official Airline Guide) to obtain core-share information of airline industries. SNA was, then, applied to the code-share information. Finally, statistical analysis was conducted to analyze the relationships between code-share social networks and performances. The result shows that the size and out-degree centrality have relatively significant effects on the performance of airline industries, while in-degree and betweenness centrality has less significant effects.

  • The vertical axis through the modal center of rigidity (m-CR) is used for interpreting the code torsional provisions in the design of eccentric multi-story building structures. The concept of m-CR has been demonstrated by the author in an earlier paper and the particular feature of this point is that when the vertical line of the centers of mass at the floor levels is passing through m-CR, minimum base torsion is developed. For this reason the aforesaid axis is used as reference axis for implementing the code provisions required by the equivalent static analysis. The study examines uniform mixed-bent-type multistory buildings with simple eccentricity, ranging from torsionally stiff to torsionally flexible systems. Using the results of a dynamic response spectrum analysis as a basis for comparisons, it is shown that the results of the code static design are on the safe side in torsionally stiff buildings, but unable to predict the required strength of bents on the stiff side of systems with a predominantly torsional response. Suggestions are made for improving the code provisions in such cases.

  • Recently, there has been intensive focus on Turbo Product Codes(TPCs) which have low decoding complexity and achieve near-optimum performances at high code-rate. This paper present a parallel algorithm of turbo product codes enable simultaneous decoding of row and column. The row and column decoders operate in parallel and update each other after row and column has been decoded. simulation results show that the performance of proposed parallel turbo code is almost the same as that conventional scheme for several turbo product codes.

  • Software copyright are written in text form of documents and stored as files, so it is easy to expose on an illegal copyright. The IOT framework configuration and service environment are also evaluated in software structure and revealed to replication environments. Illegal copyright can be easily created by intelligently modifying the program code in the framework system. This paper deals with similarity comparison to determine the suspicion of illegal copying. In general, original source code should be provided for similarity comparison on both. However, recently, the suspected developer have refused to provide the source code, and comparative evaluation are performed only with executable code. This study dealt with how to analyze the similarity with the execution code and the circuit configuration and interface state of the system without the original source code. In this paper, we propose a method of analyzing the data of the object without source code and verifying the similarity comparison result through evaluation examples.

  • Multicarrier code division multiple access(MC-CDMA) system that combines multicarrier modulation with CDMA offers robustness to frequency selective fading and can support higher rate data transmission with higher spectral efficiency. A new asynchronous MC-CDMA system to implement multiple data rate communications is proposed in this paper. In a W-CDMA downlink the orthogonal variable spreading factor(OVSF) code is used for variable spreading factor for various multimedia traffic. Proposed system utilizes the OVSF code that generated by generation property for spreading. The proposed MC-CDMA system use different lengths of OVSF code as a spreading code according to their data rate. The groupwise processing is accomplished by code grouping in OVSF code generation tree. For the analysis of average BER performance, numerical method and computer simulation were used. We also compare the system performance with that of a single rate MC-CDMA system used orthogonal code as a spreading code.
