무전해 도금에 의한 은코팅 구리 플레이크의 제조에서 전처리 공정 및 환원제 양의 영향 (Effects of Different Pretreatment Methods and Amounts of Reductant on Preparation of Silver-coated Copper Flakes Using Electroless Plating)

  • L-ascorbic acid 환원제를 사용하는 무전해 은도금 공정으로 Ag 코팅 Cu 플레이크를 제조하는 과정에서 전처리 방법 및 L-ascorbic acid의 농도에 따른 Ag 코팅층의 균일도 변화와 대기 중 승온에 따른 내산화 특성을 평가하였다. 전처리 방법에 따른 Cu 플레이크 표면 산화층의 제거 정도가 Ag 코팅층의 균일도에 큰 영향을 미치는 것을 관찰할 수 있었고, 플레이크에서의 홀 결함 발생정도도 Ag 코팅 Cu 플레이크의 내산화 특성에 다소 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 L-ascorbic acid 환원제의 농도는 Ag 코팅층의 생성 균일도 및 두께 등에 큰 영향을 미치는 대표 공정변수임을 확인할 수 있었는데, L-ascorbic acid의 농도가 0.04 M일 경우 가장 우수한 품질의 Ag 코팅 Cu 플레이크가 제조되었나, 농도를 0.06 M로 증가시킬 경우 미세한 순수 Ag 입자들의 생성으로 인해 Ag가 코팅되지 않은 Cu 표면 면적이 증가하면서 시료의 내산화 특성을 크게 감소시켰다.

  • Slit-coater nozzle is one of core equipments of coating process in LCD panel manufactory. As a glass substrate size become bigger, a nozzle performance and a high-speed coating process are considered important issues. To design the optimal nozzle, the characteristics of fluid inside nozzle are studied using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) method. Through research on design factors, we can know the coating uniformity influenced by lip length, cavity angle and gap size. The future work for this study is to find the factors in high-speed coating process and function between factors of design.

  • A comparison study of carbon coating on $LiFePO_4$ was done with two different carbon sources-petroleum pitch and Ketjen black. Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis were applied to the carbon-coated $LiFePO_4$. $LiFePO_4$ which was carbon-coated with petroleum pitch showed more uniform carbon layer and ordered carbon structure. Such uniformity and ordered structure of carbon coating layer resulted in higher initial discharge capacity and better rate capability.

분말소재의 표면처리를 위한 회전형 CVD 공정 (Rotary CVD Process for Surface Treatment of Powders)

  • This paper reviews the potentials of a rotary chemical vapor deposition (RCVD) process for nanomaterial synthesis and coating on powder-based materials. The rotary reactor offers a significant improvement over traditional CVD methods having horizontal and fixed reaction chambers. The RCVD system yields enhanced productivity and surface coating uniformity of nanoparticles applied in various purposes, such as efficient heat dissipation, surface hardness enhancement, and enhanced energy storage performances. The effectiveness of the RCVD system would open up new possibilities in various applications because uniform coating on powder-based materials with massive productivity is inevitable to develop multi-functional materials with high reliability.

  • PVD coating is a technology that can be applied to various industries, and is widely used for processing molds and machinery, improving performance of core parts, and extending the life. Therefore, there is a need for a research on a device and a process technology that can adjust the performance to suit each application. In this study, a PVD coating device with ion density control was used to deposit a coating layer on SKD 11, a cold die steel, with magnetron currents of 1 A, 2 A, 3 A at arc currents of 80 A, 100 A, 130 A. It examined the mechanical properties for each condition. Increasing the arc current and magnetron current could improve the thickness, adhesion, and hardness of the coating layer. Especially, When the magnetron current was high, it suppressed the droplets that could be generated by the high arc current, showing excellent surface uniformity and adhesion of the coating layer.

  • In this paper, experimental methods about the flow behavior of thin polymer film by various edge patterns in the spin coating process for stable cover layer coating of a blu-ray disc is described. The blu-ray disc, a next-generation optical disc format over 25GB, consists of a 1.1m thick substrate and a 0.1mm tick cover layer. Generally, cover layer on the blu-ray disc is made by the polymer spin coating process. However, it is hard to secure sufficient coating uniformity around the rim on the cover layer. In order to get the uniform thickness deviation and to minimize the bead around the rim, the edge of the disc substrate can be modified into various patterns, such as normal plain, trench, step and chamfer pattern, etc, around the rim on the disc and experimented with various parameters, such as surface tension, viscosity, coating time, temperature and rotation speed, etc. And the optimal shape of the rim was tried to get by 3 dimensional computer simulation of the polymer expulsion process.

  • Plasma density in semiconductor fabrication equipment becomes higher to achieve the improved the throughput of the process, but the increase of surface corrosion of the ceramic coated chamber wall has been observed by the increased plasma density. Plasma chamber wall coating with aerosol deposition prefer to be firm and uniform to prevent the potential creation of particle inside the chamber from the deformation of the coating materials, and the aerosol discharge nozzle is a good control factor for the deposited coating condition. In this paper, we investigated the design of the nozzle of the aerosol deposition to form a high-quality coating film. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) study was employed to minimize boundary layer effect and shock wave. The degree of expansion, and design of simulation approach was applied to found out the relationship between the divergence angle and nozzle length as the key parameter for the nozzle design. We found that the trade-off tendency between divergence angle and nozzle length through simulation and quantitative analysis, and present the direction of nozzle design that can improve the uniformity of chamber wall coating.

Ag 코팅 Cu 플레이크의 제조에서 전처리 및 Ag 코팅 공정 변화의 효과 (Effects of Pretreatment and Ag Coating Processes Conditions on the Properties of Ag-Coated Cu Flakes)

  • To elucidate the effects of a pretreatment process on the uniformity of Ag electroless plating on Cu flakes, pretreatment time was mainly considered with a mixed solution of 0.15 M ammonium hydroxide and 0.0375 M ammonium sulphate. Optical inspection of Ag-coated Cu flakes determined that the optimal pretreatment time is 120 s. Repetition of the sequence in which Ag plating was done immediately after the pretreatment of 120 s clearly enhanced the plating uniformity. Scanning electron microscopy revealed that holes were formed irregularly on some Cu flakes during the period from the asdropping of an Ag precursor solution to 5 min. The hole formation was judged to be due to continuous removal of Cu on the local surfaces by the repetitive formation and elimination of $Cu_2O$ or $Cu(OH)_2$ layers. However, the increase of the amount of Ag coating suppressed the hole creation and increasingly enhanced the antioxidant property.

표면전류분석을 이용한 전착도막의 표면 균질성 평가 (Steel Surface Uniformity Assesment Method for Electrocoating by Applying Low Current and Voltage)

  • When the automotive body enters an electrocoating tank while applying an electric current, its steel surface is exposed to a very low induced current. Consequently, surface defects of coating may arise if the steel surface has lack of electric uniformity due to local defects such as local oxide. In this study, we investigated the preceding assessment methods to evaluate steel susceptibility of the low induced current during electrocoating before mass production. Prior to general electrocoating, we applied low constant voltage such as 3V or low constant current densities such as $0.35mA/cm^2$ and $0.50mA/cm^2$. In result, we confirmed that such methods were efficient for assessing steel susceptibility of low induce current during electrocoating.
