Eulsook-do's Change in Leisure Pattern by the Pre- and Post-Construction of Estuary Dike in the Coastal Area

  • The purpose of this study is the assessment of changes in the leisure patterns of users of the Eulsook-do before and after the estuary dike construction. The following survey research method was conducted to implement the study, sampling by age was carried out selectively and randomly alike. A total of 319 persons were chosen for final analysis, excluding questionnaires answered found to be inappropriate. To measure the image of the lower Nakdong River around the Eulsook-do, with advice sought from experts, researchers, through several pilot tests, developed a 24-item semantic differential scale(SDS) that has two bi-polar adjectives at each end Study of the pre- and post- construction images of the Eulsook-do located on the coast of Busan suggests the dike construction has brought about negative changes in the Eulsook-do's overall image. There can be two alternatives for improving the negative image: restoration and development.

  • This paper discusses the analysis of financial ratios of the Korean coastal passenger shipping company 1997 and 2000. Coastal passenger shipping company shows a very high ratio of the fixed-assets because these shipping company own relatively expensive ships. The current debts are composed of short-term borrowings and lease and the ratio of the current debts is rather high considering to the size of shipping company. The equity ratio of passenger shipping company has recently been decreased, but the debt ratio has been increased. Both the profitability and activity ratios have grown worse in recent years. In order to improve the performance of coastal passenger shipping company, they should develop the leisure facilities and good items to attract travellers.

  • 세계 각국은 관광과 문화 사업을 21세기 국가 전략 사업으로 육성하고 있다. 관광 선진국들의 사례를 비춰볼 때 국민소득이 2만$\sim$3만 달러 이상 증가하면 육상 관광과 레저에서 해양 관광과 레저로 추이가 이동함을 볼 수 있다. 또한 주 5일 근무제의 시행으로 근로시간 단축에 따라 가족 지향형 가치관의 형성으로 가족단위의 여가활동 및 여행수요 증대의 보편화가 나타나고 있다. 이러한 환경변화에 따라 해양레저를 즐기고자하는 수요는 증가하고 있으나, 기반시설 부족으로 활성화가 이루어지지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 특히 우리나라 서남해안 해역은 수많은 다도해가 자연방파제 역할을 하고 있으므로 해양레저 산업을 활성화 시키는데 적합한 천혜의 자연조건을 보유하고 있으나 기반시설 부족으로 활성화가 이루어지지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라 해양레저 기반시설의 현황과 문제점을 분석하고, 서남해안 해양레저 산업 활성화에 필요한 친환경 해양레저 기반 시설 구축 방안에 관하여 논한다.

제주시 해안일주도로의 경관보전을 위한 건축물의 입면차폐도 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of the Elevation Blockage Ratio in the Conservation of the Coastal Landscape of Jeju)

  • Although the coastal area of Jeju has already been developed, it has high pressure and demands for development continually increasing due to the increase of tourism and leisure activities. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to present objective guidance for the planning of the buildings on the seaside road with a view which have the largest impact on coastal landscape in order to enhance its visual quality. The results of this study are as follows : 1) It is chief element to make guidance for the use and planning of buildings in the conservation of the coastal landscape. 2) The D/H ratios which immediately influence an angle of elevation are different one another for the whole street. To ensure a sense of openness for the landscape, it is needed to maintain under $27^{\circ}$ angle of elevation, which demands 1~3 D/H ratio. 3) It is important to make 2.4 visual blockage ratio for whole street, but the actual condition is 4.48 ratio on average. To bring down the visual blockage ratio, the W/D ratio needs to be regulated. 4) Various techniques are also needed for lively building styles going with coastal landscape.

Sex Reversal Pattern of Wrasse in Jeju Coastal Waters

  • Eleven wrasse species inhabit the coastal waters of Jeju Island, Korea. They are the target of leisure fishing and are considered good eating. We investigated the distribution of standard length (SL) by sex of wrasse in Jeju coastal waters for Halichores poecilopterus, H. tenuispinis, Pseudolabrus japonicus, and Pteragogus flagellifera. A cross-section of the ovary showed the ovarian cavity and ovarian lamellae containing oocytes. A cross-section of the testis showed many lobules containing spermatogonia and spermatocytes. A cross-section of a gonad undergoing sex reversal showed the regression or reduction of oocytes and some spermatocytes located in the ovarian lamellae. A cross-section of a sex-reversed testis showed the primary structure of the ovary, with spermatocytes distributed in the epithelium of the lamellae, and reformed seminiferous ducts in the basement lamellae. A Comparative analysis of the Pre- and Post-Construction Image Analysis of the Nakdong Estuary as Coastal Tourism Resource

  • The purpose of this study is the comparative analysis of Susan citizens' images of Eulsook-do as a coastal tourism destination before and after the construction of a road bridge across the Nakdong estuary in order to analyze local people's changes in leisure patterns. Analysis of the images of a pre-construction Eulsook-do that people aged both 40 and less and 50 and more had on five dimensions showed values higher than zero(0) that suggests neutral image, while their images of a post-construction Eulsook-do showed the shrinking size of pentagon on all five dimensions: ET(Entertainment), CA(Culture & Art), EE(Environment & Ecology), RC(Recreation) and LP(Leports) dimensions. Its pre- and post- construction image analysis conducted 20 years after it came to be built finds that the road bridge construction has led to the ecological, environmental disruption of the coast and the lower Nakdong river, having negative influence on the images of Eulsook-so.

스토리텔링을 활용한 부산 해양관광 콘텐츠 개발 -갈맷길에서의 해양레저 테마 코스 개발을 중심으로- (Development of Busan Marine Tourism Contents using Storytelling -Focusing on the Development of Marine Leisure Theme Course in Galmaetgil-)

  • 부산은 우리나라의 대표적인 관광도시이자, 해양 도시로써 차별화된 도시브랜드 개발을 위해 다양한 해양관광 스토리발굴과 콘텐츠 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 부산의 해양관광활성화를 위하여 '부산 해양레저 갈맷길' 관광스토리텔링의 개발을 목적으로 부산 해양레저 및 갈맷길 현황조사를 통해 '관광스토리텔링 5단계 모형'을 활용하여 결과를 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, '부산의 해양레저 갈맷길' 콘텐츠의 스토리와 갈맷길 코스를 개발 하였고, 둘째, 부산 해양레저 갈맷길 스토리텔링 책 디자인을 위한 갈맷길 코스 맵과 그래픽요소를 디자인개발 하였다. 갈맷길은 해안가를 중심으로 조성된 걷는 길로 부산을 대표하는 관광콘텐츠 중 하나이며, 부산은 대표적인 해양레저의 도시로 자리매김하고 있어 이를 결합하여 새로운 부산만의 관광콘텐츠를 만들 수 있다. 관광객과 시민들의 참여를 유도할 수 있는 감성적 스토리와 정보를 담은 '스토리텔링'을 통해 해양레저를 보다 쉽게 이해하고 체험관광까지 이어 질 수 있을 것이다.

  • This study aims at analyzing the potential of leports-fishing for improving fishing household income. Leports-fishing is a composite concept which is combined with those of leisure, sports and fishing. Korean on-shore resources have also a composite characteristic. The characteristics of the east, west and south coastal waters are quite different in geography, biology and ecology. There is a array of leports-fishing development potentials of utilizing their characteristics. At present, angling forms a main activity of leports-fishing, but coastal seas would be an emerging space for the public. In order for them to be a ground of fun, enjoyment and festivals, there would be necessary to supply a wide range of activities including angling, scuba diving, fish barbecue, ecological experience, fishing experience, cruise, and so forth. As seen in the survey results, the participants have strong desire for fun and enjoyment through leports-fishing activities. The proportion of people participating in one or two times a year amounts to 40 percent. Most coastal places visited are close to medium/large cities and two-days leports-fishing/ tourism accounts for some 77 percent. However, it is shown that conflicts between leports-fishing participants and fishermen are not serious. The results of expenditure function estimation appear that the elasticity of per capita income is very high with 1.2660 and that there are negative relationships between leports-fishing expenditure and transportation/food/lodging costs. Assuming the economic growth rate of 4 percent, it is anticipated that Korean leports-fishing population will increase to 3.18 million in 2010 and 4.07 million in 2015. Korean leports-fishing market potential in 2015, which is calculated based on per capita expenditure on leports-fishing appeared to be 1,400 billion won$\sim$1,600 billion won. The contribution of such market potential is expected to be 62.3$\sim$74.2 percent(934.5 billion won$\sim$111.3 billion won) to the fishing households.

FRP 복합재료 방향타 장착 근해어선의 해상시운전시험 결과분석 (Result Analysis of Sea Trial Test for Offshore Fishing Boat Attached FRP Rudder)

  • This paper reports the results of a comparative study on rudder performance between the steel rudders that have been used in coastal angling fishing boats in the 20-GT class and the newly developed FRP composite material rudders. In order to compare the rudder performances of these two types, a sea trial test was carried out to investigate the speed performance, fuel consumption, and ship's turning ability. The results showed that the sea trial performance of the FRP composite rudder was better than that of the steel rudder type in terms of the sea speed, fuel consumption rate, and turning ability.
