This study analyzes the operating conditions of domestic marinas in response to changes in coastal and marine leisure trends and demand for recreational boats, and suggests ways to improve services according to the types and functions of marinas. In order to popularize marine leisure and to foster coastal and marine tourism industry, the 'Act on the Development, Management, etc. of Marinas' was enacted in 2009 and 'The 1st Marina Basic Plan' was established, and more than 34 marinas are operated nationwide. In order for domestic marinas to be used as an infrastructure for marine leisure activities, measures for enhancing service functions should be prepared in accordance with the size and characteristics of marinas.

Recently, the risk of safety accidents in the coastal zone has been increased due to revitalization of marine leisure and tourism. Because of a lack of regulations about technical and maintenance aspect for safety facilities, the effective measures to prevent safety accidents in the coastal zone have not taken with increasing rate of the accidents. The nature of land/sea and behavioral characteristics of a fisherman/port laborer/tourist/people at leisure should be taken into account properly when safety facilities to prevent safety accidents in the coastal zone are installed, since the characteristics of land/sea and many activities such as fishery, harbor works, tour, leisure are mixed in the geographic and environmental condition of the coastal zone. This study analyzes the current problems on the safety facility in the domestic coastal zone through the domestic and foreign(Hongkong, Macau) field survey. Also the direction of the improvement about the safety facility are proposed.

Resistance performance of 3 G/T class coastal leisure boat is experimentally investigated at high speed ranges and the effect of a fin attached at hull side is studied together. Wave patterns are observed to make clear the relation between the resistance performances and the wave characteristics.

The initial hull form of a 3 G/T and 30 knots class coastal leisure boat is newly developed. The performances measured, resistance, trim and sinkage, are investigated in a high-speed, circulating water channel (CWC). The effect of a fin attached on the hull side is studied together. Wave patterns are observed to clarify the relationship between the resistance performance and the wave characteristics. It can be found that the fin plays a role of increasing the resistance performance above a certain velocity.

This study is based on the circumstances such as accessibility of the Gyeonggi sea, marina facilities, limitations of fishery resources, and super-aging of fishing villages. This study is to identify the causes of conflicts in coastal spaces for the coexistence of fishing villages and marine leisure, and to revitalize islands in the metropolitan area. The purpose of the study is suggesting an efficient use of coastal space by utilizing the characteristics of the Gyeonggi sea area ‥‥

This study is to set up some models and make plans of the seaside resorts at coastal area in Korea. In order to do this we analyse the characteristics of east, south and west coastal areas of Korean peninsula. And we divide coastal areas into three categories, such as suburban area, fishing village area, and island area, according to their development phases and the distances from nearby big cities. Three types of seaside resort model for three categories of coastal areas are set up. At last we make site plans and images of three types of seaside resort model.

This study was carried out for the purpose of proposing the guideline for the non-mischief and comfortable coastal leisure activities to reduce the marine pollution caused by sea fishing and strengthen the marine management and supervision for the fishing activity. In research method, a extensive reference was examined and analyzed, and the questionnaire investigation and field work were carried out to recognize the present conditions and problems concerning the environmental pollution caused by sea fishing. At the same time, the guideline for the safe and comfortable activities was proposed by diagnosing of actual evil conditions of marine environment due to the sea fishing activity and by analyzing of foreign mangement cases. On the basis of these research results, it is useful to contrive a management criteria for the realities investigation on the pollution of coastal activities. It also contributes to develop the regional economy by controlling coastal leisure activities effectively and systematically through the national publicity for the prevention of marine pollution.

The nature of land and sea should be taken into account properly when the countermeasures to prevent the safety accidents in the coastal zone are devised, since the characteristics of land and sea are mixed in the environmental condition of the coastal zone. Through the field survey, this study analyzes the current problems on the safety in the coastal zone. Also, it suggests the future direction of the safety standards in the coastal zone on the basis of the safety improvement direction in the coastal zone.
