LCA와 에너지수지비 개념의 확장을 통한 대체에너지기술의 평가방법론 (A Study on the Alternative Technology Evaluation Based on LCA and ″extended″ Energy I/O Technique)

  • This study suggests the effectiveness of an "extended" power system evaluation methodology based on LCA and energy input-output analysis techniques. This "extended" evaluation methodology is designed to incorporate total energy system costs through fuel cycle and external costs, including CO$_2$abatement cost. As an empirical test, we applied the methodology to orimulsion-fired power generation technology and found that orimulsion could be considered as in attractive base-load power generation fuel in terms of economic and environmental aspects, compared to conventional coal-fired power plant.

A techno-economic analysis of partial repowering of a 210 MW coal fired power plant

  • This paper presents a techno-economic analysis of a partial repowering scheme for an existing 210 MW coal fired power plant by integrating a gas turbine and by employing waste heat recovery. In this repowering scheme, one of the four operating coal mills is taken out and a new natural gas fired gas turbine (GT) block is considered to be integrated, whose exhaust is fed to the furnace of the existing boiler. Feedwater heating is proposed through the utilization of waste heat of the boiler exhaust gas. From the thermodynamic analysis it is seen that the proposed repowering scheme helps to increase the plant capacity by about 28% and the overall efficiency by 27%. It also results in 21% reduction in the plant heat rate and 29% reduction in the specific $CO_2$ emissions. The economic analysis reveals that the partial repowering scheme is cost effective resulting in a reduction of the unit cost of electricity (UCOE) by 8.4%. The economic analysis further shows that the UCOE of the repowered plant is lower than that of a new green-field power plant of similar capacity.

조적벽의 CO2 배출비용을 포함한 건설원가 비교에 관한 연구 (Comparison of Construction Costs of Masonry Wall Types, including CO2 Emission Costs)

  • 건설산업에서 발생하는 $CO_2$배출량은 지구 온난화를 유발하는 주요 원인 중 하나이다. 이에 따라 건설산업에서는 $CO_2$배출량을 줄이기 위해 노력하고 있다. 최근 건축물의 $CO_2$배출량에 관한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있지만 $CO_2$배출비용에 관한 연구는 아직 없는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 벽체별(시멘트벽돌벽, 블록벽돌벽, 점토벽돌벽)로 기존 공사비에 $CO_2$배출비용을 포함하여 비교해 보았다. 그 결과 $CO_2$배출비용은 점토벽돌벽, 시멘트벽돌벽, 블록벽 순으로 높았다. 본 연구는 $CO_2$배출량을 비용으로 환산하는 방법을 제시함으로써 향후 $CO_2$배출량을 비용측면으로 비교해 볼 수 있는 기초적 자료를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

연료와 CO2 농도분석을 이용한 아역청탄 화력발전소의 온실가스 배출계수 개발 (Development of CO2 Emission Factor by Fuel and CO2 analysis at Sub-bituminous Fired Power Plant)

  • The main purpose of this study was to develop the greenhouse gas emission factor for power plant using sub-bituminous coal. In Korea, Fired power plant are a major source of greenhouse gases within the fossil fuel combustion sectors, thus the development of emission factors is necessary to understand the characteristics of the national specific greenhouse gas emission and to develop nation specific emission factors. These emission factors were derived from the $CO_2$ concentrations measurement from stack and fuel analysis of sub-bituminous coal. Caloric value of sub-bituminous coal used in the power plants were 5,264 (as received basis), 5,936 (air-dried basis) and 6,575 kcal/kg (dry basis). The C emission factors by fuel analysis and $CO_2$ concentration measurement was estimated to be 26.7(${\pm}0.9$), 26.3(${\pm}2.8$)tC/MJ, respectively. Our estimates of C emission factors were comparable with IPCC default value.

박막 테이프캐스팅과 동시소성에 의한 연료극 지지형 SOFC 단전지 제조 (Fabrication of Anode-Supported SOFC Single Cells via Tape-Casting of Thin Tapes and Co-Firing)

  • An anode-supported SOFC single cell having $5{\mu}m$ thin electrolyte was fabricated cost-effectively by tape casting, laminating, and co-filing of anode (NiO-YSZ), cathode (LSM-YSZ), and electrolyte (YSZ) components. The optimal slurry compositions of the green tapes for SOFC components were determined by an analysis of the mean diameter, the slurry viscosity, the tensile strength/strain of the green tapes, and their green microstructures. The single cells with a dense electrolyte and porous electrodes could be co-fired successfully at $1325\sim1350^{\circ}C$ by controlling the contents of pore former and the ratio of coarse YSZ and fine YSZ in the anode and the cathode. The single cell co-fired at $1350^{\circ}C$ showed $100.2mWcm^{-2}$ of maximum power density at $800^{\circ}C$ but it was impossible to apply it to operate at low temperature because of low performance and high ASR, which were attributed to formation of the secondary phases in the cathode and the interface between the electrolyte and the cathode.

500 MW 석탄화력 발전소에서 바이오매스 혼소율이 미분기 운전인자에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Biomass Co-firing Ratio on Operating Factors of Pulverizer in 500 MW Coal-fired Power Plant)

  • 신재생에너지 발전 비중 확대가 예상됨에 따라 공공 발전사업자들은 바이오매스 혼소의 확대 시행을 적극적으로 검토해야 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 500MW 석탄화력에서 바이오매스 혼소율을 0wt.%에서 5.0wt.%까지 변화하며 미분기 주요 운전 특성을 측정하였다. 먼저, 목질계 바이오매스에 대한 구성성분 분석과 분쇄 특성을 알아보았고, 혼합연료의 부피 증가가 미분기 보울 압력 차이, 모터 전류, 이물질 처리횟수, 출구 온도, 내부 화재횟수에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 혼소율 증가에 따라 미분기 보울 압력 차이와 모터 전류, 이물질 처리횟수는 상승함을 확인하였고, 출구 온도는 상승 폭이 미미하였다. 내부 화재횟수는 명확한 상관관계를 찾기 힘드나, 다른 운전인자와 결합하여 발생할 가능성이 크다는 것을 확인하였다.

Performance Analysis of Supercritical Coal Fired Power Plant Using gCCS Simulator

  • Capturing the carbon dioxide emitted from coal-fired power plants will be necessary if targeted reduction in carbon emissions is to be achieved. Modelling and simulation are the base for optimal operation and control in thermal power plant and also play an important role in energy savings. This study aims to analyze the performance of supercritical coal fired power plant through steady and dynamic simulation using a commercial software gCCS. A whole power plant has been modeled and validated with design data of 500 MWe power plant, base and part load operations of the plant were also evaluated, consequently it had been proven that the simulated result had a good agreement with actual operating data. In addition, the effect of co-firng on the plant efficiency and flue gases were investigated using gCCS simulator.

석탄연소보일러 개조공사에 적용된 저NOx 미분탄 버너의 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of Low NOx Pulverized Coal Burner Applied in Coal Fired Boiler Refurbishment Project)

  • To meet the environmental requirements, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Ltd. (Doosan) had developed low NOx pulverized coal burner and it was applied to boiler retrofit project, 130 ton/hr coal fired cogeneration boiler, in 2003. NOx emissionand unburned carbon (UBC) in fly ash were measured during the commissioning tests. In this paper, the operation results of low NOx pulverized coal burner installed in 130 ton/hr coal fired boiler are presented. Burners emitted 160 ppm (@6 % $O_2$ basis) NOx and 3 % UBC with Chinacoal containing 0.86 % fuel nitrogen. And also it was shown that NOx emission rate of low NOx pulverized coal burner is linearly increased with fuel-nitrogen fraction of coal.
