  • This paper presents a high performance AC propulsion system for electric car to improve traction capability. The presented VVVF inverter was composed of as GTO thyristor and the the controller was fully digitalized by using 32bit DSP. The improved PWM algorithms and the new adhesion control were adapted to improve traction characteristics. This system could be possible the higher reliability and flexibility. The field test results showed the higher performances characteristics of the presented system.

  • 본 논문은 영구 자석형 동기 발전기(PMSG)를 사용하는 소형풍력발전기의 고조파 제거 및 단위 역률 효과를 갖는 AC-DC 컨버터에 관한 내용이다. 가변속도로 제어되는 풍력발전기는 입력전압 및 전류에 많은 고조파 성분을 가지고 있다. 제안된 컨버터는 단일 스위치를 갖는 3상 승압형 정류기 형태로 인덕터 전류가 불연속모드(DCM)로 동작되며, 입력전류의 고조파를 제거하여 단위 역률을 갖는 단상 220V, 3kW의 소형풍력발전기용 컨버터이다.

  • In this paper, the circuit of AC Choppers for $CO_2$laser Power Supply are proposed and investigated. IGBT-controlled ac voltage regulators, operating at high frequency chopping mode. Chopping-to-supply duty ratio plays an important role in terms of laser output. Laser input energy is varied by controlling the leakage transfomer used with the proposed system. This improved circuit employs a 3 electrode-type and Ring Blower. This improved circuit system has many advantages compared with the conventional SMPS such as simple design requirment, easy implementation, high reliability, low switching loss, and consequently high efficiency. As a result, the maximun output was 16W at duty-ratio of 92%, total gas mixture of $CO_2$: $N_2$: He = 1 : 9 : 15, total pressure of 15torr.

A Study on the Operational Characteristics of $CO_2$ Laser Excited by 60Hz AC Discharges (상용주파수 교류방전 $CO_2$ 레이저의 동작 특성)

  • In this study, it is the purpose to develope a cheap and compact $CO_2$ laser and to apply 60 Hz AC discharges as a new exciting source. An axial and water cooledtype was adopted as the laser mode. The laser performance characteristics as various parameters, such as gas pressure and discharge current, have been investigated. And the laser output and the efficiency of DC and 60 Hz AC discharge-exciting type have been measured and compared for the different input powers at the static operational pressure. As a result, the case of 60 Hz AC discharge-exciting type, the laser oscillation began at the condition of operational pressure 6 Torr and discharge current 5 mA. A maximum laser output of about 32 W was obtained at an operational pressure of 18 Toorr and a discharge current of 30 mA. In addition, the laser output was saturated from an operational pressure of about 14 Torr and a discharge current of about 20 mA. In this $CO_2$ laser, the laser output of 60 Hz AC discharge-exciting type was slightly higher than that of DC discharge-exciting type. And the laser efficiency was about 10 to 13% for the various operational pressures and the discharge currents.

  • AC 전동기용 다이나모 시스템은 동력흡수방식을 중심으로 제작되어 많이 사용되고 있으나, 속응성 및 내구성등이 열악하여 유지 보수등에 다소 어려움을 겪고 있어 소형 전동기를 중심으로 유도전동기를 이용한 다이나모 시스템에 관한 연구가 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 현재 소형 AC 전동기를 이용한 다이나모 시스템에 관한 연구가 진행되어 있으나 수십 kW급 전동기의 운전에만 제한되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 200kW급 AC 다이나모미터의 설계 및 제어에 대하여 서술한다. 기존 데이터 취득방식의 단점을 보완한 초고속 통신모듈을 내장한 데이터 송수신 시스템을 이용하여 AC 다이나모미터의 특성을 개선하였다. 실험을 통하여 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템의 설계 및 제어를 검증한다.

Performance evaluation of TEDA impregnated activated carbon under long term operation simulated NPP operating condition

  • The methyl iodide (CH3I) removal performance of tri-ethylene-di-amine impregnated activated carbon (TEDA-AC) used in the air cleaning unit of nuclear power plants (NPPs) should be maintained at least 99% between 24 month-performance test period. In order for evaluating the effectiveness of TEDA-AC on the removal performance of CH3I in nuclear power plant during the operation of NPPs, the long-term test for up to 15 months was carried out under the simulated operating conditions (e.g., 25 ℃, RH 50%, ppb level poisoning gases injection) at nuclear power plants (NPPs). The TEDA-AC samples were analyzed with the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) specific surface area and TEDA content as well as CH3I penetration test. It is clearly evident that more than 99% of CH3I removal performance of TEDA-AC was observed in the TEDA-AC samples during 15 months of long-term operation under the simulated NPP operating conditions including the ppb level of organic and oxide form of poisoning gases. BET specific surface area and TEDA content that can affect the CH3I removal performance of TEDA-AC were also maintained as those in new TEDA-AC during 15 months of long-term operation.

Magnetoelectric Characteristics on Layered Ni-PZT-Ni, Co, Fe Composites for Magnetic Field Sensor (자기센서용 Ni-PZT-Ni, Co, Fe 적층구조 소자의 ME 특성)

  • The magnetoelectric characteristics on layered Ni-PZT-Ni, Co, Fe composites by epoxy bonding for magnetic field sensor were investigated in the low-frequency range. The ME coefficient of Ni-PZT-Ni, Ni-PZT-Co and Ni-PZT-Fe composites reaches a maximum of $200mV/cm{\cdot}Oe$ at $H_{dc}=110$ Oe, $106mV/cm{\cdot}Oe$ at $H_{dc}=90$ Oe and $87mV/cm{\cdot}Oe$ at $H_{dc}=160$ Oe, respectively. A trend of ME charateristics on Ni-PZT-Co, Ni-PZT-Fe composites was similar to that of Ni-PZT-Ni composites. The ME output voltage shows linearly proportional to ac field $H_{ac}$ and is about 0~150 mV at $H_{ac}$=0~7 Oe and f=110 Hz in the typical Ni-PZT-Ni sample. The frequency shift effect due to the load resistance $R_L$ shows that the frequency range for magnetic field sensor application can be modulated with appropriate load resistance $R_L$. This sample will allow for a low-magnetic ac field sensor in the low-frequency (near f=110 Hz).

  • 본 논문에서는 AC 및 DC 전원을 동시에, 또는 선택적으로 사용하여 구동할 수 있는 단상 영구자석 전동기 구동 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 회로는 일반적인 Full-bridge회로와 유사하게 4개의 전력 소자로 구성되어 경제적인 회로 구성으로 두 가지 전원을 사용할 수 있다. 또한, DC전원측으로의 전력흐름도 가능하여, DC전원으로 배터리를 사용할 경우 충전회로의 삭제도 가능하다. 제안된 회로의 동작을 모의실험을 통하여 검증하였다.

Two-Switch Auxiliary Resonant DC Link Snubber-Assisted Three-Phase Soft Switching PWM Sinewave Power Conversion System with Minimized Commutation Power Losses

  • This paper presents a high-efficient and cost effective three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC power conversion system with a single two-switch type active Auxiliary Resonant DC Link (ARDCL) snubber circuit, which can minimize the total power dissipation. The active ARDCL snubber circuit is proposed in this paper and its unique features are described. Its operation principle in steady-state is discussed for the three phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter, which is composed of PWM rectifier as power factor correction (PFC) converter, sinewave PWM inverter. In the presented power converter system not only three-phase AC/DC PWM rectifier but also three-phase DC/AC inverter can achieve the stable ZVS commutation for all the power semiconductor devices. It is proved that the proposed three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter system is more effective and acceptable than the previous from the cost viewpoint and high efficient consideration. In addition, the proposed two-switch type active auxiliary ARDCL snubber circuit can reduce the peak value of the resonant inductor injection current in order to maximize total system actual efficiency by using the improved DSP based control scheme. Moreover the proposed active auxiliary two-switch ARDCL snubber circuit has the merit so that there is no need to use any sensing devices to detect the voltage and current in the ARDCL sunbber circuit for realizing soft-switching operation. This three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter system developed for UPS can achieve the 1.8% higher efficiency and 20dB lower conduction noise than those of the conventional three-phase hard-switching PWM AC/DC-DC/AC converter system. It is proved that actual efficiency of the proposed three-phase AC/DC-DC/AC converter system operating under a condition of soft switching is 88.7% under 10kw output power.
