한국 해산 히드라충류의 분류학적 연구의 일환으로 1973년부터 1987년까지 울릉도와 제주도에서 채집되어 이화여자대학교 자연과학대학 생물학과에 보관되어 있는 미동정 표본들을 동정 분류하였다. 그 결과 Cryptolaria pectinata (Allman, 1888), Modeeria rotunda (Quoy & Gaimard, 1817) 그리고 Thecocarpus myriophyllum orientalis Billard, 1908 가 한국 미기록종으로 밝혀졌다.

1969년 5월부터 1989년 6월까지 한국의 본토 연안과 도서지방, 28개 지역에서 채집되어 미동정 상태로 보관되어 있는 히드라충류의 표본들 가운데 일부를 관찰한 결과 13과에 속하는 50종 및 아종이 밝혀졌다. 이중에서 5종, Turritopsis nutricula, Halecium beanii, Halecium pusillum , Sertularella gigantea and Halopteris constricta는 한국미기록종으로 판명되었다. 한국산 기지종에 대해서는 기지 채집지를 인용하였으며 , 아울러 새로운 채집지를 추가하였다.

Some hydroid specimens were collected by SCUBA diving from 10-25 m deep at Uljin (Nagok) and Jejudo Island (Munseom, Beomseom, Supseom). Among the identified species, three species Eudendrium racemosum (Gmelin, 1791), Sertularella diaphana(Allman, 1886) and Schizotricha divergens Naumov, 1960 are new to the Korean fauna.

Some hydroid specimens were collected from Jejudo Island (Seogwipo, Biyangdo, Marado, Mundo) by SCUBA diving. They were identified into Pennaria disticha Goldfuss, 1820 of the order Athecatae, and Hydrodendron leloupi Hirohito, 1983; Nemertesia ciliata Bale, 1914; Haliaria vegae $J\"{a}derholm$, 1903 of the order Thecatae. They were new to the Korean fauna.

Some scyphomedusae were collected from the coasts of Busan (Gijang), Geojedo Island(Jangmok-ri) and Samcheok during the period from June 1989 to May 1999. They were identified into Stenoscyphus inabai of Stauromedusae and Aurelia aurita in Semaeostomeae. They are first recorded in Korea.
