Clothing is high-involvement products which is closely related with human being both physically and psychologically. It is the prod-uct bought by consumer repeatedly and needs lots of information according to the changing of modes. The comsumer is very sensitive to the advertisement when they purchase the clothing products. Therefore the importance of the advertising is remakably emphasized in these days. According to the qualitative and quantitat-ive growth of advertisement the unique mar-keting strategy must be deviced that is differ-ent from the past. This thesis focuses onthe importance of afection which is more pre-ferred when consumer contacts the advertise-ment. And this study purposes on the provid-ing the basic data to plan effective clothing advertisement by way of analyzing how atti-tude-forming affects the purchase intend of the comsumer. The findings of the study are as follows. 1. Sense-pursuit tendency is strongly ap-peared among the low-age not-married groups. 2. By the factor analysis of consumer re-sponse in each advertisement 5 factors proved to be valid ones 3. There were significant differences be-tween the brand-used and advertisement ex-perienced customers according to the adver-tisement/brand attitudes. 4. There were no significant differences be-tween the application of clothing advertise-ment and demographic character. 5. The affective response more affects on cognitive response and purchase intend in 4 modes of advertisement. 6. From the pathes of the brand-used experi-enced to purchase intend the characteristics showed up in each advertisement.

This study analyzes how the merchandise characteristics of internet fashion shopping malls influence the shopping values, purchase satisfaction, and repurchase intentions of female consumers. The survey was conducted from October $11^{th}$ to $29^{th}$ in 2008, and 401 responses were used in the data analysis. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results show that the merchandise characteristics of internet fashion shopping malls were merchandise information, merchandise assortment, and merchandise price. The merchandise information and merchandise assortment of internet fashion shopping malls influence the shopping values of female consumers. The merchandise information and shopping values of female consumers effect the purchase satisfaction and repurchase intention in internet fashion shopping malls.
The purose of this study was to investigate the effect of clothing image, benefit sought, perceived risk, demographic and consumer's characteristics on the Purchase Intention of Saenghwal-Hanbok. The questionnaire was administered to 227 women in Seoul Data were analysed by factor analysis, correlation and multipleregression. The resets of this study were as follows: 1. The clothing images of Saenghwal-Hanbok were composed of dignified, comfortable, conservative and innovative dimensions. The benefits sought of Saenghwal-Hanbok were identified to traditional aethetics, contemporary aethetics, comfortability The perceived risk of Saenghwal-Hanbok was the only risk on the negative viewpoint of others. 2. The images of Saenghwal-Hanbok with the exception of innovative image have influenced on the benefit sought and the perceived risk of Saenghwal-Hanbok. 3. The positive effects of benefits sought iud negative effect of perceived risk ell the purchase intention of Saenghwal-Hanbok were found. There were also the significant effects of demographic and consumer's characteristics on the clothing image, benefit sought, perceived risk.
The purpose of this study is to analyze whether service quality and perceived risk have an effect on purchase intention and satisfaction of the fashion merchandise in internet shopping malls. To this end, a survey was conducted from June 20 to July 30 in 2005, among married women aged in their 20s and 30s, on their purchase experience of fashion merchandise from internet shopping malls. The survey was conducted over the internet with 306 subjects. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis. First, the service quality factors were determined to be reliability, responsibility, ease of transaction, order convenience, and site characteristics. Perceived risk factors were determined to be merchandise risk, information exposure risk, social psychological risk, and function risk. Second, service quality factors of responsibility, ease of transaction, order convenience, site characteristics and perceived risk factor of social psychological risk had an effect on internet purchase intention of the fashion merchandise. Greater site use convenience, lower price, simpler ordering, and lower social psychological risk were all positively correlated with higher internet purchase intention of fashion merchandise. Third, nice quality factors and social psychological risk had an effect on satisfaction degree in internet shopping.

This study investigates the fashion lifestyles and the effect on clothing purchase behavior by female consumers living in Mumbai India. Data were collected from 129 Indian women in their teens to thirties living in Mumbai and were analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan test, ${\chi}^2$-test, frequency analysis using SPSS 12.0. The results of this study are as follows. Five factors of fashion lifestyle are identified: fashion consciousness, price orientation, advertisement/brand orientation, being aware of others, and tradition orientation. Female consumers were classified into four groups based on fashion lifestyle factors: display/brand oriented group, active profit seeking group, fashion oriented group, and a tradition oriented group. There were significant differences among the fashion lifestyle groups on five criteria (latest fashion, price, commonality with existing clothing, size, and the distance to the store) out of the 13 criteria. The display/brand oriented group showed high scores on the latest fashion and size. The active profit-seeking group generally showed high scores on all five factors. The fashion oriented group showed high scores on latest fashion and commonality with existing clothing when buying clothes. Finally, the tradition oriented group showed high scores only on the distance to the shop, while they (the tradition oriented group) showed low scores on the other criteria. The examination on the actual conditions of clothing purchase among fashion lifestyle groups showed that only the monthly expenditure for clothing is significantly different. The display/brand oriented group and active profit seeking group spent more on clothing than the other two groups.
The clothing behavior of male homosexuals were examined. Especially their clothing preference, clothing purchase behavior and clothing symbols as a group took were analysed. The subject was 49 male-homosexuals and the survey was done at the tray bars in Yi-Tae-Won in Seoul. The questionnaire and interview method were broth used to collect the data. Besides design, color and fashion trend were counted more seriously than price or sowing quality. Blue and black were preferred as clothing colors. 3. Department stores were the most popular shopping place. and then traditional markets and shops near Universities were also preferred. Over 60% of the subjects answered that the decision of clothing purchase was made by himself and 20% of the subject used friend as personal information sources. The score stimuli was the most frequently used information for apparel shopping, and fashion magazines were also used as an important information source. 4. The clothing related symbols used to represent group look were lightly-fitted style. right ear-piercing, tight-fit plaid pants, leather look, rainbow flag, bandannas, reversed triangle. etc. And the subjects thought the symbols were not meaningful as group look because they were already adopted by the non-homosexual people. And they thought that their style of fashion has influenced on that of mass.

This study compares the expected values of appearance management for the suit buying behavior of men in two age groups: (20s-30s and 40s-50s) to investigate the effect of male consumers' expected values in regards to appearance management on the purchase behavior of men's suits between two generations. A survey was carried out with male consumers between the ages of 20 and 50; a total of 135 responses were analyzed by descriptive analysis, factor analysis, a reliability test, an independent samples t-test, MANOVA, ANOVA, and regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: 1) From a result of the factor analysis on male consumers' expected value of appearance management and the information sources and purchase evaluative criteria for buying men's suits, each of three variance assessments clearly showed factorial structures. 2) There were significant differences between those in their 20s-30s and those in their 40s-50s in terms of male consumers' expected values of appearance management, their information sources, and their purchase evaluative criteria when buying men's suits. 3) As a result of looking at the differences in the effects of expected values of appearance management on men's suit buying behavior according to age (generation), the younger generation in this study showed that men's suit purchasing tendency was affected by the managing appearance factor for internal reasons such as enjoyment and self-satisfaction. On the other hand, the assessment of the older generation revealed that appearance management for external reasons such as showing social power, good human relationships, and conformity influenced their suit purchase behaviors.
The purpose of this study was to identify the factor structure of sociocultural attitude toward Appearance, pursuit of clothing benefits, ambivalent consumption of fashion product and the effects of sociocultural attitude toward appearance and pursuit of clothing benefits on ambivalent consumption of fashion product. Questionnaires were administered to 425 women living in Deagu Metropolitan City and Kyungbook province. The data collected were analyzed by using frequency, factor analysis, multiple regression, ANOVA, and Duncan-test. The findings are as follows. Sociocultural attitude toward appearance was composed of two factors such as internalization, and awareness. Pursuit of clothing benefits was composed of four factors such as individuality oriented, social oriented, fashion leadership oriented, and body oriented. Ambivalent consumption of fashion product was composed of three factors such as style/price ambivalence, place of purchase ambivalence, and brand ambivalence. The effects of sociocultural attitude toward Appearance and pursuit of clothing benefits on each of ambivalent consumption of fashion product variables like style/price ambivalence, place of purchase ambivalence, and brand ambivalence were explained by the factors such as internalization, and awareness, and individuality oriented, social oriented, fashion leadership oriented, and body oriented.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the The effect of fashion consumer's need for uniqueness in their clothing purchase behavior and switching intention. A total of 332 cases were included as the subjects of this study and a survey method was used. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 22.0 statistical program. The results were as follows. 1. The 3 dimensions (creative choice, unpopular choice, and avoidance of similarity) were extracted from the consumer's need for uniqueness and consumer divided high uniqueness group, middle uniqueness group, low uniqueness group. 2. The 3 factor (esthetic, functional, practical) were extracted from the clothing selection criteria. The three group had a significant difference in clothing selection and switching intention. Aesthetic factor and practical factor were the highest in high uniqueness group. 3. The need for uniqueness has influence on the aesthetic factor and practical factor. The creative choice factor had positive effect on the aesthetic and practical factor, yet unpopular choice factor had negative effect on the practical factor. The need for uniqueness and aesthetic factor has positive influence on brand switching intentions. 4. There was difference in unpopular choices factor by gender. A monthly average expenditure on fashion products had a significant difference in three kind of need for uniqueness. Results of this study provide a basis understand need for uniqueness and their effect on consumer behavior.
The Purposes of this study were to segment Chinese consumers by clothing Purchase motive, and then to analyze and compare the clothing purchasing behavior among the segmented groups.
