This paper was aimed to identify the hand and sensibility of silk woven fabrics for neckties to find their relationships to the hand and purchasing preferences and to make their image scale. 56 male and female students evaluated 20 specimens with semantic differential scale of 21 hand and 25 sensibility adjectives. Data were analyzed through factor analysis pearson correlational coefficient t-test using PC SAS package. the hand adjectives were grouped as 4 surface property thermal property flexibility and dryness. The sensibility adjectives were modern classic character and natural,. The flat fabrics with warm hand displayed 'modern' sensibility but those with col hand show 'classic' The rough fabrics with warm hand showed 'natural' but those with cool hand showed 'character' The fabrics rated as high hand preference and purchasing preference showed soft and flat hand occuring 'modern' and 'classic' sensibility.

Modern fashion shows the trend of various styles and the period focusing on only product functions is changed to the period focusing on consumer's sensibility. Consumers show different sensitivities and preference by individual at the stage cognizing and recognizing the stimulation of given image and the method of objective measurement based on the fashion sensible vocabularies is necessary to measure fashion sensibility. Therefore, this research is significant to examine differences of preference to classic fashion by generation and awareness for sensible vocabularies and suggest methodology of design sensible evaluation research through the quantitative evaluation objectifying subjective sensibility. For the method of research, precedent theses related to classic, concept and characteristics of classic in books and definition and characteristics by generation were examined, the best 3 domestic portal sites were selected and adjective vocabularies and images related to classic were collected from 2010 to 2014. Among the 206 adjectives collected, vocabularies whose average is more than 3.5 were drawn by 5-point Likert scale for fashion expert group. And, among the total 306 images collected, 21 representative images were selected by preliminary investigation of fashion expert group. For the classic images and vocabularies selected, frequency analysis, factor analysis and variance analysis were conducted by SPSS 19.0. The results of analysis are as follows. Preference to classic fashion image by generation was analyzed. As a result, both of two generations selected classic fashion as the most classic one. The images of the next orders were analyzed. As a result, Y generation selected basic classic fashion image which is casual with high activity as a classic one. Baby boom generation selected ancient classic fashion image, so there were differences in preference for classic by generation. As a factor analysis on classic adjective vocabularies, they could be divided into 5 factors such as basic form, attractive form, traditional form, vintage form and active form and they verified that credibility of all measuring variables for classic sensible vocabularies was achieved. Differences of classic sensible vocabularies by classic fashion image and generation were examined. As a result, generation and classic fashion image made a significant effect on five factors. Therefore, there were differences of the awareness on classic fashion images and sensible vocabularies among the generations and this thesis can be a fundamental material which objectifies subjective sensibility and suggests the methodology of new research.
The purpose of this study was to compare the characteristic of Chanel style between modern and postmodern period. The documentary research method was used for this study. The modem period was limited from around 1920 through 1939 and the postmodern period from 1990 through present for this research. The results were summarized as follows: The characteristics of clothing style in modem period were 1) the preference of slim & straight body figure as ideal one and slim & straight clothing silhouette, 2) the high fashion image for the elite by simple & basic design, 3) the emphasis on the harmony by the unity, 4) the tendency of eliminating ornaments on clothing, 5) the discontinuation of traditional way of dress code & style, and 6) the modern style. The characteristics of clothing style in postmodern period were 1) the emphasis on erotic aspects of female body and sexy design, 2) the popularization of high fashion and certain social group's fashion, 3) the tendency of harmony by mix-match, 4) the preference of ornaments in clothing, 5) the preference of retro-fashion, and 6) the continuation of modem style.

The purpose of this study was to analyze market opportunities for Korean image fashion products, focusing on adolescents. In other words, preference, purchase intention and gift intention of adolescents on Korean image fashion products were analyzed. For this study, four stimuli which reflect Korean image were chosen. We measured design evaluation and adolescent fashion innovativeness. The subjects for this study were 219 high school students. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Duncan test, cross-tabulation, correlation analysis, multiple regression. The more innovative the subject is, the higher the clothing purchase frequency and the purchase price are. Also, high-innovative group showed that they like Korean image fashion products more than low one. Product attributes such as prettiness and newness significantly influenced purchase intention for their own use and for others as a gift. In conclusion, when related marketers and scholars provide Korean image products that target adolescents, they should try to make those products more sophisticated and modern.
In order to build strong brand equity in the current market circumstances, it is essential to understand the core dimensions of brand image, which is brand personality. The objectives of this study were to identify the brand personality dimensions of a casual brand, "BeanPole," and to investigate the effects of the brand personality on BeanPole buyers' brand preference, satisfaction and loyalty. The data were collected via a web survey. The sample consists of 500 people between the ages of 18-45 who are familiar with Bean Pole casual clothing brand (male- 40%; female-60%). Sixty-six percent of the sample indicated that they had purchased the Bean Pole clothing during the last three years. A total of five factors were extracted from the brand personality index scale: They were excitement/sophistication, competence, sincerity, ruggedness, and smoothness. Compared to the B/P non-buyers, B/P buyers tended to rate excitement/sophistication, competence, sincerity, and the smoothness brand personality dimensions higher. Multiple regression analysis revealed that excitement/sophistication, competence, sincerity and ruggedness brand personality were significant predictors of respondents' casual clothing brand preference, satisfaction, and brand loyalty. Among these significant predictors, competence was the best predictor of casual clothing brand preference, satisfaction and brand loyalty. Based on these findings, strategic implications are discussed.
The purposes of this study were to investigate the effect of perceived Korea image on the evaluation and purchase intention of Korean apparel products and examine the effect of perceived Korea image on preference of Korean image and Korean apparel brand among Chinese female consumers. As variables of perceived Korea image, marketing stimulus and popular culture elements were included. Data were obtained from 350 Chinese women in the 20s and 30s who were living in Shanghi, China. Data were analyzed by frequency analysis, ANOVA, multivariate regression using SPSS WIN 12.0. The results of this study were as follows. First, the preference of Korea image was significantly affected by marketing stimulus and popular culture (e.g. TV drama of Korea). However, only marketing elements significantly affected on the preference of Korean apparel brands. Second, purchase intention of Korean apparel products was influenced by marketing stimulus, the preference of Korean apparel brands and the evaluation of Korean apparel products. Popular culture element which was main element of Hanliu was not affected significantly to purchase intention of Korean apparel products. As source of Korean brand image for apparel product, Chinese female consumers used more Korean TV drama and entertainers. This study provides an insight into Korean fashion marketers for developing market strategies in China.
The purpose of the study is to figure out the difference in preference of clothes between Korean and Chinese female college students, who share similar ethnic traits despite having different sociocultural backgrounds and environment, and see the differences in their body image and body satisfaction. The questionnaire-based survey for the study was conducted for about a month and a total of 449 copies of the questionnaire were collected for the final research. For the research method, we examined the differences in clothes preference and fit between Korean and Chinese students, and then the corresponding differences in body image and body satisfaction. The result showed significant differences in the categories of skirt length, pants length, upper garment fit, and lower garment fit. Korean students preferred slim fit clothes, while their counterparts preferred natural fits. A comparison of body image between Korean and Chinese female students showed that the Korean students had lower body satisfaction levels, and viewed themselves as fat even though they were slimmer than their counterparts. The conclusion of the analysis was that compared to Korean students the Chinese students pursued a more comfortable and casual style, preferring unique and diverse designs instead of simply following a fashion trend.

The purposes of this study was to demonstrate the influence of fashion life-style, self-image and situational factors on consumer's apparel store choice for satisfaction of varied needs and high efficiency of marketing activity. A questionnaire was developed to measure research subjects based on theoretical study empirically. The questionnaire was administered to 270 women aged between 20 and 30 in Seoul. The results analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, x2-test and oneway-anova. The results of empirical studies were summarized as follows: 1. Segmented groups of fashion life-style were classified practical/planning group, fashion- leader group, and shopping-oriented group. And store types which were prefered by those groups were department store/shopping center. 2. Segmented groups of self-image were classified actual-seeking group, modernity group and confidence group. And store types which were prefered by those groups were department store/shopping center. The Forecast of store choice on the base of self.image was showed that customers choose the store incongruous with self-image. But when it was analyzed each actual store choice. The Choice of high frequancy was congruous with self-image except for a specialty store/brand named outlet. 3. The significant differences could be found in choice of the store under particular purchase situations and especially at department stores and specialty store, their preference tended to be stronger as the degree of the store's involvement was hightened, but in the case of the generalization stores and the permanent discount stores, even though the degree of that involvement was low, their preference showed the same tendency.

The purpose of the study is to clarify yellow image and formative properties in modern fashion. For the study of formative properties 230 kinds of costume samples being visual power in yellow have been selected from photographs in fashion magazines and divided into tones: vivid(S, B, Dp), vague(L, Lgr, D), bright(Vp, P, B). For the study of image 30 kinds of costume samples is used. The Study was measured by using Semantic Differential method. The subjects were 50 students majoring in clothing and textile. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, ANOVA, MDS and regression analysis. The results of analysis are as follow: 1. Factor analysis has extracted 4 factors of yellow image in the fashion. These factor are Attractiveness, Cheerfulness, Hardness and Softness, Gorgeousness. 2. There were significant difference in visual evaluation of yellow tones. 3. Evaluative dimensions of yellow was classified as Soft-Hard, Gorgeous-Unpretentious. 4. The mage effect on Preference, Buying needs, Pleasant and Riches was consist of complicated sensibility.

Evaluative dimensions of red was classified as Soft-Hard, Lively-Decent. 5. The image effect on Preference, Buying needs, Pleasant and Riches was consist of complicated sensibility.
