Perceived meaning of color uniquely forms and is being highlighted as an element of creative design in the modern design industry as well as traditional culture. It is necessary to compare the perceived meanings of color and clothing color of Korea and Japan in order to find out the model of Korea's original color. The purpose of this study Is to draw the results of examining the perceived meanings of color revealed in the culture, arts and clothing color of the both countries and comparing them depending on contemporary times. The scope of study is limited from the ancient times to modern times (about BC.IC-early20C). In the methodologies, the literature and the empirical study focus on both counturies' literature, including art history, ethnology, and the history of clothing; and their paintings and relics, which are all related to clothes. The perceived meaning of color of Korea was prominent with the beauty of nature and gorgeousness throughout the history. The colors were mostly white colors, light colors, and single colors such as obangsaek, which are high pure degree colors by which color is changed depending on darkness and lightness, while that of Japan featured clothing colors combining various colors and middle colors.
This study is on the 18th-century man's clothing excavated from Mr. Kim(1683-1766)'s tomb in Cheongju, Chungbuk in 2003. There are more than 100 pieces of excavated costumes from the tomb of Won-taek Kim. The excavated costumes have the value of genuine materials. Among them, 36 garments in good condition were investigated. As a result, there are several kinds of the excavated coats with different sizes, depending on the type of coats-Simui(深衣), Danryeong(團領), Sagyusam(四揆衫), Daechang, jungchimak(中赤莫), and Sochangui. These different-size coats reveal the degree of ritual; the length of the ritual costume is longer than that of the daily one. We can see two kinds (large and small) of coats, jackets, and pants. The large-size clothing is for the dead, the small size one as daily clothing was used for filling the empty space of the coffin. Among the excavated clothing from Mr. Kim's tomb, clothing for the dead(shroud) is bigger than man's daily costume. Concerning the form, color, and materials of the costumes, clothing for the dead is similar to daily clothing, while there is the difference in their size. The oversized costumes of coats, jackets, and pants are also different in size, matching the structure of clothing.
This study has been made to examine the basic information, the preferences of material quality, and the demand performance of clothing for underwear materials between atopic patients and non-patients. By studying 3-D virtual human modeling, motion-capturing and clothing simulation for easier and safer work clothes development, this research aimed (1) to categorize heavy manufacturing work motions; (2) to generate a 3-D virtual male model and establish painting work motions within a 3-D virtual clothing simulation system through computerized body scanning and motion-capturing; and finally (3) to suggest simulated clothing images of painting work clothes developed based on virtual male avatar body measurements by implementing the work motions defined in the 3-D virtual clothing simulation system. For this, a male subject's body was 3-D scanned and also directly measured. The procedures to edit a 3-D virtual model required the total body shape to be 3-D scanned into a digital format, which was revised using 3-D Studio MAX and Maya rendering tools. In addition, heavy industry workers' work motions were observed and recorded by video camera at manufacturing sites and analyzed to categorize the painting work motions. This analysis resulted in 4 categories of motions: standing, bending, kneeling and walking. Besides, each work motion category was divided into more detailed motions according to sub-work posture factors: arm angle, arm direction, elbow bending angle, waist bending angle, waist bending direction and knee bending angle. Finally, the implementation of the painting work motions within the 3-D clothing simulation system presented the virtual painting work clothes images simulated in a dynamic mode.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the clothing management behavior and the recognition of care label of college students, as well as the effects of sex and the learning experience of clothing life area on middle and high school students. A survey consisting of 61 questions was conducted on 475 college students(240 males and 235 females) enrolled in a university in Cheongju City, and 450 college students' data were finally analyzed. The results are as follows. First, the level of washing behavior(2.54) was the lowest compared to purchasing behavior(3.13) and storage behavior(3.09). Second, college students were well aware of the attachment of fiber care labels, but 64.7% of the college students did not check the care label. About 30% of them did not know why the care labels were attached, and about 57% did not know whether manufacturers were obligated to attach them. The meaning of precautions for handling in a care label was well inferred from the symbols. Third, there was the positive effect of the learning experience of clothing life area during middle or high school on the college students' clothing management behavior and the level of recognition of a care label. This study is meaningful in confirming the positive effect of clothing life education in adolescence on adult clothing life behavior.

Similarly, monthly purchase amounts through online platforms exhibited significant variations based on marital status, age, monthly income, and occupation. The online fashion platforms, when examined in relation to demographic characteristics and purchase types, showed significant differences across all variables. Clothing purchases by consumers seeking individuality and differentiation exhibited significant differences in age, occupation, and purchase types. Furthermore, the reasons for choosing online platforms for clothing purchases varied significantly based on age and occupation. These findings indicate diverse purchasing behaviors on online platforms influenced by demographic characteristics. These findings can be valuable for effectively segmenting the online fashion market.
In recent times, many accidents have occurred due to challenges in accurately identifying the location of workers, posing a significant societal concern demanding resolution. Therefore, it is essential to develop smart luminescent safety attire to enhance worker visibility in dim environments, thereby curbing accidents. In this study, we propose the utilization of textile-based OLED devices in creating smart luminescent safety clothing, aiming to augment the discernibility of workers over extended distances in low-luminance environments. In view of this, we engineered an attachable textile-based OLED module that balances high luminous efficiency with wearer comfort. Subsequently, a prototype smart luminescent safety clothing was demonstrated, and a performance evaluation was conducted to determine whether any discomfort occurred on wearing it. The fabricated OLED luminous module exhibited high luminance, thus validating the feasibility of creating smart luminescent attire with adequate brightness. Furthermore, there was no significant wearing stress observed, even after wearing it for more than 8 hours, and there was no impediment to various work-related movements. Through this research, we successfully demonstrated OLED based on smart luminescent safety clothing, which has the potential for wide-ranging applications across various industries and occupations, and is expected to play a crucial role in averting safety incidents.
