Principle and Algorithm of Cloth Covering and Application to Script Identification (천 커버링의 원리와 알고리즘 그리고 언어 식별에 응용)

  • This paper proposes a concept and algorithm of cloth covering. It is a physically-based model which simulates computationally a shape of cloth covering some objects. The goal of cloth covering is to conceal the details of object and to reveal only the shape outline. It has one scale parameter which controls the degree of suppressing fine-scale structures. To show viability of the proposed cloth covering, this paper performed an experiment of script recognition. The results of comparing accuracies of feature extraction using Gaussian and cloth covering showed that the cloth covering is superior to Gaussian. We discuss the reason for the superiority.

A Study on the Marking Efficiency of Tailored Jacket (테일러드 재킷의 Marking 효율성에 관한 연구)

  • This study intended to compare and analyze marking efficiencies of tailored jacket based on different cloth and production conditions, 'the width of cloth', 'the number of marking pieces' and 'the direction for marking deployment'. The results were as follows. For the two pieces of markers, the efficiency of the cloth width of 110cm was higher than that of 150cm. As the number of markers increased, the efficiency of cloth width of 150cm was higher than that of 110cm. In the case of one-directional deployment, the results obtained was that the efficiency of two markers was higher than that of three markers, while, in the case of bi-directional deployment, the efficiency of three markers was higher than that of two markers. In the case of one-directional deployment for each size, the marking efficiencies were higher in two markers at the cloth width of 110 cm and higher in three markers at the cloth width of 150 cm. Then, in marking efficiencies according to the direction for marking deployment, bi-direction marker was the most efficient marker, followed by one-direction for each size marker and one-direction marker.

Analysis of Marker Efficiency According to Blouse Sleeve Design (블라우스의 소매 디자인에 따른 마커 효율에 관한 연구)

  • Comparative analysis of marker efficiency in blouse patterns, based on different sleeve designs, was carried out. Sleeve designs used included set-in-sleeve, laglan sleeve, and epaulet sleeve. The two types of epaulet sleeves, A and B, are based on pattern arrangement methods of center back. Cloth and production conditions are the width of cloth, the number of marking pieces, and the direction for marking deployment. A blouse pattern saved to the PAD CAD System was graded with different sizes and arranged for industrial purpose to calculate the marker efficiency in different conditions. The results were as follows. On the whole, the marker efficiency of small pattern sized set-insleeve was higher than laglan and epaulet sleeve designs. It was also established that marker efficiency is dependent on cloth and production conditions. For small number of marking pieces, efficiency was higher in the condition of 110cm cloth widths compared with that condition of 150cm cloth widths. However the efficiency of large number of marking pieces was higher in the condition of 150cm cloth widths.

  • We present an interactive cloth simulation method based on the mass-spring model, which is the most widely used one in the field of cloth animation. We focus especially on the case where relatively strong forces are applied on relatively small number of mass-points. Through distributing the forces on some specific points to the overall mass-points, our method simulates the cloth in pseudo-real time. Given a deformed cloth, we start from resolving the super-elasticity effect using Provot's dynamic inverse method [9]. In the next stage, we adjust the angles between neighboring mass-points, to finally remove the unexpected zigzags due to the previous super-elasticity resolving stage.

  • Recently, it was possible to represent the realistic clothes in the cloth simulation along with growth of 3D computer animation such as visual contents. In addition, because of the development of H/W(Hardware) and S/W(Software), the accessibility and participation are growing. However, in order to make the image of high quality of 3D animation, the optimized production pipeline was need. In this paper, in order to overcome the limitation of exiting 3D computer animation production pipeline, we propose the optimized production pipeline of the cloth simulation. Our production pipeline makes the optimization arrangement in consideration of the mobility in order to supplement the related structure limit toward each part of the existing pipeline. Moreover, by utilizing the dummy cloth the association nature with the animation part is solved and a performance is improved. The proposal pipeline actually introduced to the animation production. And then we can improve the performance production time and production manpower consumption. Consequently, our pipeline is guaranteed an optimized work by emphasizing a connection in the direct image production.

An Effective Cloth Rendering using Internal Scatter Function (내부 산란함수를 이용한 효과적인 옷감 렌더링)

  • In this paper, we propose a new rendering scheme of cloth by measuring light-scattering pattern inside the cloth and reproducing using the pattern. To date, the BTF(Bidirectional Texture Function) has been one of the most appropriate method to realistically reconstruct cloth surface. However, the BTF has a couple of defects that it ultimately requires an infinite amount of data and all light effects should be used all together. We noted that internal scattering has a decisive contribution to the reality of cloth. Following this observation, we take an image of a ray of light scattering inside cloth for every position of the cloth sample and determine each pixel value by adding up all light influences arriving from its vicinity. Our method we propose in this paper provides a clue to more realistically represent cloth-like materials, which is one of the most challenging materials to express, by enabling each ray to be controlled individually.

Impact of Pro-environmental Behavior on Dysmenorrhea (친환경행위가 월경곤란증에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: In this study the impact of pro-environmental behavior, well-being oriented behavior, and use of cloth menstrual pads on dysmenorrhea in Korean female adults was examined according to the theory of reasoned action. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 195 Korean female adults. Data were collected from June to August, 2010 using self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, multiple regression, and logit regression with STATA 10.0. Results: Pro-environmental behavior explained 48% of well-being oriented behavior. Well-being oriented behavior explained 10% of cloth pad use. Use of cloth pad explained 4% of dysmenorrhea and 5% of menstrual pain. The path through well-being oriented behavior had a significant effect from pro-environmental behavior to cloth pad use. Conclusion: Use of cloth pad was significantly related with well-being oriented behavior, pro-environmental behavior, social influence, dysmenorrhea, and menstrual pain. The results of this study suggest that pro-environmental strategies can help health care providers diminish clients' menstrual symptoms. Nursing intervention can support pro-environmental behavioral strategies.

A study on the optimal condition of the fabrication glass-cloth/epoxy composite material (Glass-cloth/epoxy 복합재료의 최적제작조건에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is to investigate the optimal condition of fabrication for glass-cloth/epoxy composite material. According to the result in this paper, in fabrication of composite materials, the optimal condition of treatment for epoxy silane coupling agent is 1.5% water solution of silane coupling agent by weight. Then, % weight ratio of silane coupling agent VS, glass cloth is about 0.3%. And the optimal post cured condition of glass cloth/epoxy composite material is about 30 hours at 100$^{\circ}C$.

Investigation of Automatic Drying Algorithm to Combi-Drum Washer of the Condensing Type (응축 방식의 건조 일체형 드럼세탁기에서의 자동 건조 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • The condensation water temperature $(T_{CW})$ distributions on the combi-drum washer of condensation type which the cloth washes, rinses, spins and dry cloth over a heater were measured using the thermocouples. During the drying process, in order to find out the relationship between the $T_{CW}$ distribution and the cloth dryness level $(C_{D1})$, the experiment was made for the dehydration rate of the cloth $(C_{D0})$ is 63%, the weight of cloth $(W_{C0})$ from 1 to 6kg. In result, according to $W_{C0}$ and $C_{D0}$, the distributions of $T_{CW}$ are very different. Using this tendency, it was appropriate and it developed the automatic drying algorithm and it was gotten dryness level regardless of $W_{C0}$, $C_{D0}$ and the other factor.

A Study on the labor organization for the Andong-Po(hemp cloth) (안동포 생산에 따른 길쌈노동교환직)

  • This article is concentrated on the organization for labor exchange in producing hemp cloth at Geumso-ri, Imha-myoun, Andong city. The organization is called "Sam-dool-ge", and it is different from the organization for labor exchange in producing rice because it is managed by women mostly. ln harvesting hemp, same amount of labor and expenses are invested. Especially, labor is supplied in equal condition. In spinning hemp cloth, the work is shared on the basis of same tech level. In threading the warp and fastening hemp cloth. the work conducted collaborately under the best engineer's direction. "Sam-dool-ge", a gil-sam labor exchange, also presents cultural creativity which produces and inherits the folkloric tradition, and also has the quality as a rite of passage. Nowadays, producing hem cloth is for pursuiting of profits than for making clothes as it used to be. This tradition will be lasted at least for a while because some young generations are beginning to participate in and old generation is teaching them good.
