This study aimed to clarify meanings of Palkyung(八景) in different regions which can be considered as the prototype of the region's cultural landscape and also to confirm the change process by pointing out landscape characteristics and finally, to provide a foundation for the regions to establish their own identities, so they could be provided against the changes from developments in other areas. The relationship between the characteristics of landscape values and the components of 32 Palkyung in 4 places those are Gogunsan, Wido, Gunsan and Byunsan under Saemankeum area have been analyzed and evaluated from operational point of view to clarify the structure of the landscape concept. Some important differentiation points would be the sunset of the West Sea, sailing boats and the sceneries related to fishing as they are in the West Sea Islands and the coastal regions; and it clearly reflects the local customs and the characteristics of the landscapes. Each of Gogunsan, Wido and Gunsan Palkyung has 2 distance views with 4km of visible area while Byunsan Palkyung has only 1; and it is considered that because it is mountain area. Most of the Byunsan Palkyung has close range views except for Seohaenakjo and there are around 4 close range views in other areas. There were 4 landscape dominated influence areas each in Gunsan and Byunsan, which means that there are comparatively more close to middle range views. Moreover, each region contains 2 to 3 views of psychological influence but as mentioned, Byunsan has only 1 view of psychological influence. Therefore it is very important and valuable thing to consider the scenic relationship, preservation and reconstruction of Palkyung when planning the project.

Recent increase in the number of pixels of a non-metric digital camera encourages to use it for close-range photogrammetry such as modeling cultural asset and buildings. However, these cameras have to be calibrated far close-range photogrammetry application. For self-calibration, an appropriate pbotograrnmetric network and object field should be designed. In this paper, we studied the effect on self-calibration accuracy changes according to the change of the number of ground control points, dimensions of the ground control points, and the combination of images. We concluded that self-calibration with three photos including a vertical photo can give the stable accuracy of interior orientation parameters and 10 ground control points on a plane can give high accuracy for object reconstruction.

In this paper, we studied on measurement of soil deformation around the tip of model pile by close-range photogrammetry. The rigorous bundle adjustment method was utilized to monitor the soil deformation in the laboratory model pile-load test as function of incremental penetration of the pile. Control points were installed on the frame of the laboratory model box case and more than 150 target points were inserted inside the soil around the model pile and on the surface. Four overlapping images including three horizontal and one vertical image were acquired by a non-metric camera for each penetration step. The images were processed to automatically locate the control and target points in the images for the self-calibration and the bundle adjustment. During the bundle adjustment, the refraction index of the acrylic case of the laboratory model was accounted for accurate measurement. The experiment showed the proposed approach enabled the automated photogrammetric monitoring of soil deformation around the tip of model pile.

Population of urban areas is rapidly increased due to urbanization. This situation leads to lack of surface space. So, underground space has been developed for resolving the problem of congested urban areas. Many studies have researched for this situation. However, previous studies mainly focused on behaviour of structures. Researches about behaviour of soil are lacked. For this reason, this study has investigated interactive behaviour between embedded pile and its surrounding ground due to tunnelling. Soil deformation is observed by the close range photogrammetric method and image processing in the model test. These data are compared with numerical analysis.
The greenhouse heating system with heat pump and latent heat storage was built for development of simulation model and validation. The computer simulation model for the system to predict temperature of air, soil surface and cover film in the greenhouse were developed and its validity was justified by actual data. From the analysis of experimentally measured and the simulation output, following results were obtained. 1. The expected values of inside air temperature for the greenhouse with a heat pump and a latent heat storage system were very much close to the experimental values at the error range of 1.0$\^{C}$. 2. The expected values of soil surface temperature fur the geenhouse with a heat pump and a latent heat storage system were very much close to the experimental values at the error range of 1.0$\^{C}$. 3. The expected values of thermal energy flow fur the greenhouse with a heat pump and a latent heat storage system were very much close to the experimental values at the error range of 167.2kJ/m$^2$h. 4. Heat lass value of day time was found to be larger than that of night time as much as 1.11 time. 5. At day time. the inside air temperature was shown to be higher than the set point of 7.0$\^{C}$. At night time, the inside air temperature was controlled in order to maintain higher temperatures than the set point.

In urban areas, tunnelling induced ground deformations, particularly ground settlements should be considered in order to minimize the damage of adjacent structures. Therefore, an appropriate monitoring system for the tunnel construction should be setup at the planning or design stage. A number of studies on ground settlements due to tunnelling in soft ground have been carried out so far. However, most studies have focused on clay soil rather than sand soil. In particular, a few studies on behaviour of subsurface deformations in granular material have been reported. In this study, two-dimensional laboratory model test with aluminium rods regarded as continuum granular material and close range photogrammetric technique, and numerical analysis were carried out in order to identify the behaviour of subsurface deformations due to shallow tunnelling. Direction and magnitude of displacement vectors from the model test was identical to the numerical analysis. In particular, the vector direction was appeared to be toward a point below the tunnel invert level. A narrow 'chimney or tulip like' pattern of vertical displacement was confirmed by both the model test and numerical analysis. This is consistent with the field data. In addition to the qualitative comparison, the quantitative comparison of subsurface settlements according to 2D volume loss showed good agreement between the model test and numerical analysis. Therefore, close range photogrammetric technique applied in the model test may be used to validate the result from the continuum numerical analysis.

GIS have become easier to use and very popular. In recent year digital photogrammetric systems ire becoming cost-effective tools to build and update GIS databases. In close-range photogrammetry for the acquisition of geospatial data, the bundle adjustment needs both initial approximate values and control points to solve the exterior orientation parameters. This paper gives a review of applied and potential algorithms for estimating Initial approximate values before the bundle adjustment, develope new algorithms for determine the exterior orientation parameters, and gives a cost-effective methods for close-range digital photogrammetric system Modifications of existing DLT algorithm were made in this study for providing an efficient, economic, and more accurate photogrammetric data reduction technique. These modifications include robust approaches for automatic detection and elimination of all lands of gross errors in the measurement data, and incorporation of GPS to reduce the number of control points necessary for a DLT solution. Also, this paper derives a new method for space resection from a monocular image. A major advantage of proposed method is that the solution can be uniquely and analytically determined without initial approximate values of exterior orientation parameters and without iterative computation.
In this study, model pile-load test with numerical analysis was carried out to compare and analyze pile behaviour according to interface properties. In the model test, Close Range Photogrammetry (CRP) was chosen to measure the ground deformation. In addition, model steel and concrete piles were used. Based on the model pile test, interface elements around the model pile were used to simulate the slip effect. Interface properties were adopted as interface reduction factor $R_{inter}$. Interface reduction factor, $R_{inter}$ plays a key role in the interface properties. Through this study, it was found that the model ground behaviour measured by CRP corresponded well to the one predicted by the numerical analysis. And, the interface strength reduction factor, $R_{inter}$ value of the steel pile was higher than that of the concrete pile.

It is well-known that non-metric digital cameras have to be calibrated for the close-range photogrammetry. But, the self-calibration is still not an easy task because it requires rather a large calibration site of accurate control points, multiple image acquisitions in different positions, and accurate image point measurements that are quite labor-intensive and time-consuming. Based on the premise, this study carried out check point accuracy analysis from self-calibration of different control point designs and photo combinations. The test results showed that the calibration using three photos covering three-dimensional control points produced high accuracy, but control points on a plane could attain the comparable accuracy with four photos including a 90-degree rotated photo. We then compared the target accuracy of on-site self-calibration using flat control points to that of laboratory-self calibration and observed comparable results.

In congested urban areas, constructions of tunnel structures have became necessary due to a lack of surface space. The excavation of any tunnel generated the ground disturbances of surrounding ground and displacements is major concern. Therefore, a study of tunnel stability is necessary. In this study, the authors have investigated the stability and failure pattern of tunnel through the model tunnel test. In this study, the close range photogrammetry was used to measure the ground deformation. The measured data was converted to displacement vectors and contours. And then it compared to FE analysis and empirical formula. In addition, this study presented the comparison between steel pipe reinforced model tunnel and unreinforced model tunnel. The ground deformation for both the steel pipe reinforced model tunnel and the unreinforced model tunnel was analysed.
