마그네틱 기어의 영구자석 부착방법에 따른 영구자석 와전류손실 분석 (Analysis of Permanent Magnet Eddy Current Loss by Permanent Magnet Attaching Method of Magnetic Gears)

  • Recently, there has been an increasing interest in the non-contact power transmission method of magnetic gears. Since there is no mechanical contact, noise caused by friction can be reduced, and even if a sudden large force is applied, the impact of the gear is close to zero. Further, since the power is transmitted by the magnetic flux, it has high reliability. However, there is a problem that a loss due to a magnetic field due to use of a magnetic flux. The loss caused by the magnetic field of the magnetic gear is a joule loss called eddy current loss. In addition, the eddy current loss in the magnetic gear largely occurs in the permanent magnet, but it is a fatal loss to the permanent magnet which is vulnerable to heat. Particularly, magnetic gears requiring high torque density use NdFeB series permanent magnets, and this permanent magnets have a characteristic in which the magnetic force decreases as temperature increases. Therefore, in this paper, the eddy current loss of the permanent magnet according to the permanent magnet attaching method is analyzed in order to reduce the eddy current loss of the permanent magnet. We have proposed a structure that can reduce the eddy current loss through the analysis and show the effect of reducing the loss of the proposed structure.

고분자 구동체를 이용한 손가락 외골격기구의 설계 및 동력학적 모델 개발 (Dynamic Modeling and Design of Finger Exoskeleton Using Polymer Actuator)

  • This paper presents the design and dynamic model of the finger exoskeleton actuated by Ionic Polymer Metal Composites (IPMC) to assist a tip pinch task. Although this exoskeleton will be developed to assist 3 degree-of-freedom motion of each finger, it has been currently made to perform the tip pinch task using 1 degree-of-freedom mechanism as the first step. The six layers of IPMC were stacked in parallel to increase the low actuation force of IPMC. In addition, the finger dummy was manufactured to evaluate the performance of the finger exoskeleton. The pinch task experiments, which were performed on the finger dummy with the developed exoskeleton, showed that the pinch force close to the desired level was obtained. Moreover, the dynamic model of the exoskeleton and finger dummy was developed in order to perform the various analyses for the improvement of the exoskeleton.

가스발생기 연료개폐밸브의 동적 거동 (Dynamic Characteristics for Fuel Shutoff Valve of a Gas Generator)

  • 가스발생기용 연료개폐밸브는 파일롯 공압으로 포핏을 열고 스프링 힘에 의해 닫음으로써 로켓엔진의 연료 유량을 제어한다. 현재 개발 중인 가스발생기 연료개폐밸브는 액추에이터에서 압력이 제거되더라도 유로부에 해당 압력이 존재한다면 스스로 열림을 유지하는 방식으로 설계되어 있다. 밸브의 성능을 평가하기 위해 밸브가 열리고 닫히는 특성에 따라 힘 평형 상태를 분석할 필요가 있다. 이를 위하여 밸브의 포핏이 열리기 위한 파일롯 압력과 닫히기 위한 유로부 압력을 힘 평형에 의해 조절되도록 설계하였다. 또한, 사용 소프트웨어 인 AMESim을 이용하여 동적 모델을 구성하였고 Fluent CFD 해석을 통해 밸브의 고유유량계수를 구해보았다. 예측과 해석을 통해 획득 된 결과들은 실험 결과와 비교하였고, 밸브의 동적 거동을 실험을 통해 확인하였다.

부유체의 상하동요 고유진동수 예측 (Prediction of Heave Natural Frequency for Floating Bodies)

  • As the motion response of heave for floating bodies on the water surface is relatively large near the natural frequency, it is necessary to predict its value accurately from the stage of initial design. Bodies accelerating in fluid experience force acted upon by the fluid, and this force is quantified by using the concept of added mass. For predicting the natural frequency of heave we need to know the added mass, which is given as a function of frequency, and hence the natural frequency can be obtained through only by iteration process, as was pointed out by Lee (2008). His method was applied to circular cylinders, and two dimensional cylinders of Lewis form by making use of the Ursell-Tasai method in the previous works, Lee and Lee (2013), Kim and Lee (2013), and Song and Lee (2015). In this work, a similar algorithm employing the concept of strip method is adopted for predicting the heave natural frequency of KCS(KRISO Container Ship), and the obtained computational result was compared with other existing experimental data, and the agreement seems reasonable. Furthermore, through the error analysis, it is shown that why the frequency corresponding to the local minimum of the added mass and the natural frequency are very close. And it seems probable that we can predict the heave natural frequency if we know only the local minimum of added mass and the corresponding frequency under a condition, which holds for ship-like bodies in general.

Driving safety analysis of various types of vehicles on long-span bridges in crosswinds considering aerodynamic interference

  • Strong winds threaten the safety of vehicles on long-span bridges considerably, which could force traffic authorities to reduce speed limits or even close these bridges to traffic. In order to maintain the safe and economic operation of a bridge, a reasonable evaluation of the driving safety on that bridge is needed. This paper aims at carrying outdriving safety analyses for three types of vehicles on a long-span bridge in crosswinds by considering the aerodynamic interference between the bridge and the vehicles based on the wind-vehicle-bridge coupling vibration analysis. Firstly, CFD numerical simulations along with previously obtained wind tunnel testing results were used to determine the aerodynamic force coefficients of the three types of vehicles on the bridge. Secondly, the dynamic responses of the bridge and the vehicles under crosswinds were simulated, and based on those, the driving safety analyses for the three types of vehicles on the bridge were carried out for both cases considering and not considering the aerodynamic interference between the vehicles and the bridge. Finally, the effect of the aerodynamic interference on the safety of the vehicles was investigated. The results show that the aerodynamic interference between the bridge and the vehicles not only affectsthe accident critical wind speed but also the accident type for all three types of vehicles. Such effects are also different for each of the three types of vehicles being studied.

자연 친화적 하천정비를 위한 호안평가기법의 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of Evaluation Technique for Revetment for Nature-Friendly River Improvement)

  • 과거 치수적 목적에 의해 진행하던 하천정비방식이 최근에 친환경적 개념의 정비방식으로 전환되면서 하천살리기 운동을 비롯해 하천의 환경기능을 개선하려는 노력이 진행중이며 전국적으로 자연형 하천정비 또는 친환경적 하천 복원 등의 사업이 활발히 시행되고 있다. 호안공법 또한 자연형 하천정비 개념의 도입이후 다양한 호안공법이 시공되고 있는 상황에서 보다 적합한 호안공법의 적용을 위해서는 하천의 환경특성을 고려할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 자연 친화적 하천정비를 위한 호안의 평가지표 및 기법의 개발에 대한 선행연구로서 현장조사에 의한 세부조사항목들을 활용한 평가방법을 제안하였다. 수리적 안정성 부분의 평가 항목은 유선형태, 하상경사, 유속, 소류력비의 4개 항목이며, 환경성 부분은 호안식생, 하천수의 상태, 고수부지의 토지이용, 고수부지 재료, 고수부지 식생의 5가지 항목이다. 평가방법은 각 평가 항목별로 1$\sim$5점의 점수를 부여하여 평가하였고 수리적 안정성과 환경성 부분의 평균 점수를 산정하였다. 제안된 평가방법의 적용결과 다수의 기존 호안이 수리적 안정성에 과도하게 편중되어 있고 환경성의 고려는 매우 미흡한 양상을 보이고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제안된 방법은 향후 하천의 호안설계 및 시공을 위한 가이드라인 제시를 위한 초석으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

셰일의 강도이방성 특성 및 RQD결정에 관한 연구 ((A Study on Strength Anisotropy characteristic and Suggested Methods for Determining RQD as for Shale))

  • This study is as for shale that attract recently geotechnical engineer more and more. like sedimentary rocks and metamorpic rocks, shales have many problem with anisotropy for stength and deformation and they have many problems with quick weathering progress and differential weathering of alternate bedding. In foreign countries, many renowned schalors, like Jaeger(1960),McLamore,Gray(1967),Donath(1972),Nova(1980),Hoek&Brown(1980),Ranamurthy(1985), have already studied for a variety of characteristic and announced high level results of their studies. In domestic also, there are many scholars who have announced high level research papers for shale. this study is a part of these stream. and this study not only analyzed strength anisotropy characteristic along with direction of testing(two-direction) by using point-load test(log-log method) but also compared uniaxial strength between the maximum saturated and dried condition. In this study, we also conducted slaking test. these results of slaking test show weathering characteristic of shales. also, we made the most of field data that obtained during slope stability project and we noticed that RQD measured in the field is much differ from drilled core RQD. In order to come close two different value or access to reality, we suggest new RQD method that artificially reduce RQD by separating core with light hand force.

초소형 스퍼기어 제조를 위한 초소성 Al-78Zn 분말 압출 (Powder extrusion with superplastic Al-78Zn powders for micro spur gears)

  • This study was designed to fabricate the micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) parts such as micro spur gears using hot extrusion of gas atomized Al-78Zn powders. For this purpose, it is important to develop new methods to fabricate micro-dies and choose suitable extrusion conditions for a micro-forming. Micro-dies with Ni were fabricated by LIGA technology. LIGA technology was capable to produce micro-extrusion dies with close tolerances, thick bearing length and adequate surface quality. Superplastic Al-78Zn powders have the great advantage in achieving deformation under low stresses and exhibiting good micro formability with average strain rates ranging from $10^{-3}$ to $10^{-2}\;s^{-1}$ and constant temperatures ranging from 503 to 563K. Al-78Zn powders were compacted into a cylindrical shape (${\Phi}3{\times}h10$) under compressive force of 10kN and, subsequently, the compacted powders were extruded at 563k in a hot furnace. Micro-extrusion has succeeded in forming micro-gear shafts.

다이어프램형 방식의 파일럿 액추에이터 개발 (Development of a diaphragm type actuator)

  • 액체로켓 엔진용 개폐밸브는 파일럿 공압으로 포핏을 열고 스프링 힘에 의해 닫음으로써 로켓엔진의 추진제 유량을 제어한다. 현재 개발 중인 엔진용 개폐밸브는 다이어프램 액추에이터에서 압력을 제거하면 닫히도록 설계되어 있다. 다이어프램을 설계하고 개발하기 위해 밸브가 열리고 닫히는 특성에 따라 수명을 분석할 필요가 있다. 밸브가 닫히기 시작하는 시점의 작동 유체의 압력을 결정하고, 포핏이 열리는 시점의 압력을 결정되어 힘평형이 설계되어 있다. 수명시험은 상온 유동에서 다이어프램부의 크랙에 의한 누설은 용접 부위에서 발생했다. 다이어프램 액추에이터의 작동 수명은 헬륨 파일럿 압력의 22 MPa 시험에서 61회이다.

Lateral deformation capacity and stability of layer-bonded scrap tire rubber pad isolators under combined compressive and shear loading

  • This paper presents the experimental as well as analytical study conducted on layer-bonded scrap tire rubber pad (STRP) isolators to develop low-cost seismic isolators applicable to structures in developing countries. The STRP specimen samples were produced by stacking the STRP layers one on top of another with the application of adhesive. In unbonded application, the STRP bearings were placed between the substructure and superstructure without fastening between the contact surfaces which allows roll-off of the contact supports. The vertical compression and horizontal shear tests were conducted with varying axial loads. These results were used to compute the different mechanical properties of the STRP isolators including vertical stiffness, horizontal effective stiffness, average horizontal stiffness and effective damping ratios. The load-displacement relationships of STRP isolators obtained by experimental and finite element analysis results were found to be in close agreement. The tested STRP samples show energy dissipation capacity considerably greater than the natural rubber bearings. The layer-bonded STRP isolators serve positive incremental force resisting capacity up to the shear strain level of 150%.
