Purpose: This study aimed to identify tasks performed by patient safety personnel using importance-performance analysis. Methods: An online survey was conducted during a mandatory educational course. The questionnaire consisted of 43 items categorized into four subscales: management of patient safety accidents, education of healthcare personnel, education of patients and guardians, and patient safety activities. Importance-performance analysis was employed to ascertain the relationship between the importance and performance of tasks conducted by patient safety personnel. Results: A total of 145 patient safety personnel participated in the survey. The perceived importance of tasks by participants averaged 3.67 out of four, while the average performance was 3.40 out of four, indicating a significant difference (t=8.04, p<.001). Activities such as collecting patient safety reports, conducting root-cause analyses, and educating new employees were identified as low-performance tasks compared to their perceived importance. Conclusion: Tasks recognized as having low importance but high performance among patient safety personnel should be addressed through increased awareness and education. Analyzing the causes of tasks with low importance and performance is crucial for recognizing their importance and implementing improvement measures.
This study is descriptive research to investigate frequency of performance, self-confidence and performance assessment scores of core nursing skills by 227 nursing students. As the result of this study, they who experienced more than 10times in clinical practice was V/S and they never experienced items such as transfusion, enema and T-tube care. For pre self-confidence, they had the highest V/S and the lowest transfusion. For post self-confidence, they had the lowest IM. As a result of the evaluation, oxygen therapy with nasal cannula was measured highest, and IM was measured lowest. Frequency of performance had positive correlations with self-confidence(r=0.414, p<.001) and performance assessment scores(r=0.322, p=.007). Self-confidence with performance assessment scores had positive correlation(r=0.281, p=.003). Study results suggested that clinical practice is carried out, non-invasive, simple measurements, and they had low self-confidence of the items with low frequency of performance, so convergency training methods to complement this point are needed.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of simulation-based learning on the knowledge about and performance confidence in the nursing care of children with asthma. Methods: A one-group pre- and post- study design was used. A total of 70 nursing students participated in the study. In groups of five, the participants experienced simulation-based learning during their child health nursing practicum. The given scenario was about nursing care for children with asthma. The simulation learning was provided for 3 hours, and included a group discussion before the simulation and a debriefing. Results: After the simulation, knowledge about and performance confidence in the nursing care of children with asthma significantly increased. The nursing students reported a high level of satisfaction with the simulation-based learning. There was a significant positive correlation between knowledge and performance confidence. Conclusion: Simulation-based learning was effective for nursing students in the nursing care of children with asthma. Our results suggest utilizing this new way of learning to strengthen the clinical experience of child health nursing in nursing students.

Purpose: This study was conducted to develop standards ensuring nursing process-based care of patient admission and discharge, to develop a performance measurement tool evaluating the care applied according to the standards, and finally to determine validity of the standards and the tool. Methods: The standards and the tool were reviewed by a panel of experts and refined based on the panel's suggestions. Validity of the standards and the tool were examined through surveying a total of 302 hospital nurses. Results: The mean validity scores of the performance measurement standards and the tool were 4.11 and 4.09, respectively, out of 5.00. So the performance measurement standards and the tool in this study were found to be acceptable in evaluating quality of nursing care provided at patient admission and discharge. Conclusion: This result indicates that the performance measurement standards and the tool developed in this study are valid instruments to monitor and improve quality of nursing care for patient admission and discharge.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the accuracy of Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) knowledge and performance among Vietnamese nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted using a questionnaire pertaining to the nurses' knowledge of GCS and a structured evaluation tool to measure the accuracy of their GCS scores. A total of 94 Vietnamese nurses participated in this study, all from a general hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Data were analyzed by conducting a t-test, a $x^2$ test, and ANOVA. Results: This study found that the vast majority of the nurses (>90%) responded correctly to questions regarding their GCS basic knowledge; however, 52.1% of the nurses answered incorrectly questions related to clinical scenarios requiring the application of the basic knowledge. Regarding the GCS performance, the nurses demonstrated acceptable accuracy rates for each component of GCS, but those who scored well in all three components accounted for only 42.6% of the subject group. These findings indicate that the Vietnamese nurses are not able to integrate their GCS knowledge into actual practice as measured by the accuracy of GCS scoring. Conclusion: This study suggests that new educational strategies should be developed for the Vietnamese nurses to improve their performance on accurate GCS scoring based on theoretical knowledge.

The purpose of study is to prevent Nosocomial Respiratory Infection after understand the Correlation about Recognition and Performance of Critical Nurses. Data were collected from Critical Nurses 300 persons who has worked in 14 Subsidary Hospitals of University in Seoul and the collection periode is from Nov. 1st, 1997 to Jul. 14th. 1998. There are 40 questions and constructed by 6 Domains which Hand Washing, Suction Management, Airway Management, Respiratory Instrument. Ventilation and Respiratory Intervention. Also, the Data were analized with SPSS program. The obtained results are as follows : (1) The Mean of Recognition for Prevention of Nosocomial Respiratory Infection is 4.649 and by Domains, Respiratory Intervention(4.758), Suction Management (4.669), Airway Management(4.660), Hand Washing(4.651), Ventilation(4.605) and Respiratory Instrument(4.561) according to the Mean. (2) The Mean of Performance for Prevention of Nosocomial Respiratory Infection is 3.991 and by Domains, Respiratory Intervention(4.498), Airway Management (4.107), Hand Washing(4.084), Suction Management(3.898), Respiratory Instrument(3.860) and Ventilation(3.690) according to the Mean. (3) In the Correlation of Recognition and Performance for the Prevention of Nosocomial Respiratory Infection, Hand Washing(r=0.755, p=0.000), Airway Management(r=0.724, p=0.000), Respiratory Intervention(r=0.693, p=0.000) are mentioned significant correlation level. The Performance is good whenever the Recognition is high for Respiratory Instrument(r=0.143, p=0.054) but it's not significant level and Suction Management and Ventilation has no Correlation. (4) In Normal Properties, The Recognition is good(p<.05) when Nurses has plenty Clinical Career, Attendance of the Education and Exclusive Nurse for the Respiratory Infection is in Hospital. The Age is not significant correlation level statistically but represent a little correlation. The Performance is good(p<.05) when Elder Age, Attendance of the Education and the plenty Clinical Career is not significant correlation level statistically but represent a little correlation. Another properties has no menas. According to the results, Suggestion is as follows ; (1) Required Education to advance Recognition and Performance about Prevention of Nosocomial Respiratory Infection for a little clinical career of Nursing and younger Nurses. (2) It needs to analyze Performance about Prevention of Nosocomial Respiratory Infection by observation of research worker.

This study was undertaken to investigate the influence of teamwork skill and decision making competency on nursing work performance. A total of 170 nurses more than one years working experience were recruited from two university hospitals. Data were collected during March, 16 to 25, 2016 using a structured self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. Teamwork skill and decision making competency for nursing work performance showed significant positive correlation. The significant predictors of nursing work performance among nurses were total clinical experience (${\beta}=.23$, p<.001), teamwork skill (${\beta}=.61$, p<.001) and decision making competency (${\beta}=.13$, p=.015). These variables explained 66% of the variance in nursing work performance among nurses. The results indicate that nurses' teamwork skill and decision making competency are factors positively influencing on nursing work performance.

The purpose of the study are to examine the perception of the importance and performance of patient education of the clinical nurse and find out the interfering factors in practicing patient education. The data were collected from convenient sample of 256 clinical nurses working in the nursing units of adult patients except the psychiatric unit, obstetric unit, dental surgical unit and intensive care unit of one University Hospital in Seoul from September 29 to October 2, 1998. Three measurement tools of self-report- questionnaires developed by researcher used. For the content validity of the questionnaires, two sessions of panel discussion and a pilot test were done and finally factor analysis was done with Varimax method. Analysis of data was done with SAS program using frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, Pearson's Correlation Coefficients, t-test and ANOVA. The obtained results were as follows : 1. The surveyed nurses perceived the importance of patient education at higher level with mean score of 4.08 among 5 point than their perception of practice( mean score : 3.42). 2. There was positive significant correlation(r=.29, p=0.0001)between nurses' perception of the importance of patient education and it's practice 3. Among the teaching contents for patients, 'information of diagnostic procedure and operation' and 'orientation of hospitalization' were perceived most important. And 'preparation for discharge' and 'understanding of disease and health promotion' were perceived least important 4. Among the teaching contents for patients, 'orientation of hospitalization' and 'information of diagnostic procedure and operation' were perceived highly performable. And 'understanding of disease and health promotion' and 'preparation for discharge' were perceived least performable. 5. Three types of interfering factors were identified as patient-factor, situational factor, nurse-factor. The mean degree of impediment with the interfering factors was at average level(3.09 among 5). The patient and situational factors of impediments were more interfering than nurse- factor for teaching patients. 6. In older age(p<.05), married state (p<.05), higher educational status (p<.01), higher clinical experience (p<.01) and higher position(p<.01), the score of perceived importance of patients education was more high. 7. In older age(p<.01), higher clinical experience(p<.001) and surgical unit (p<.01), the score of perceived performance of patients education was more high. In conclusion, in order to activate patient education practice in the clinical setting, the continuing education for patients education should be more emphasized and the effective teaching methods and materials should be developed to help patient teaching. And an organizational support such as budgeting for patient education and reimbursement system should be administrated.
Purpose: This study is to investigate the effect of nurse's competency empowerment and boss' job competency recognition on work performance. Methods: 216 nurses participated for data collection which was conducted from September 1, 2011 to September 10, 2011. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 16.0 and with frequency test, ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$ test and Multiple regression. Results: Firstly, the work performance in accordance with subject's general characteristics was found to be significant in the 50s, graduate school or higher education, Roman Catholic, charge nurse and 21-years or older. Secondly, the correlation among nurse's competency empowerment, boss' competency recognition and work performance was found to be positively related (r=.501~.639, p<.001). Thirdly, competency empowerment was found to be the most effective factor for work performance, followed by boss' competency recognition and career year, and these factors accounted for 63.5%. Conclusion: As the results show that the work performance is highly affected by the nurse's competency empowerment, boss' competency recognition level and career level in clinical environment, effective education programs are required to provide an appropriate experience to both entry-level and experienced nurses, as well as to enhance boss' competency empowerment at the same time.

Purpose: The purpose of the non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest study was to test the effects of self-directed nursing practice using peer-tutoring, on the level of confidence, performance and learning satisfaction of nursing students in practicing core nursing skills. Methods: The data were collected from 80 junior nursing students at a nursing college in Daejeon before and after 3 weeks of intervention on practicing six core nursing skills, according to the highest order of priority. The subjects were divided into the peer-tutoring practice group (PTPG, n=40) and the lecturer-guided practice group (LGPG, n=40). The data were analyzed using mean, frequency, and t-test. Results: The PTPG scored statistically higher than the LGPG on the performance of 'indwelling urinary catheterization' and 'wearing protection equipment while entering quarantine room & disposing waste'. The PTPG scored statistically higher than the LGPG on the confidence of 'indwelling urinary catheterization' and 'inserting intravenous catheterization'. The PTPG scored statistically higher on learning satisfaction than LGPG. Conclusion: The results showed that self-directed nursing practice using peer-tutoring could be effective for nursing students in improving proficiency in core nursing skills and might be applied to core nursing skills training.
