Design of Real-Time Video Play System Using Web Camera

  • This paper designs a real-time video playback system using a web camera in the RTSP server. It designs a function to play the video data of the web camera in the client in real time using the web camera in the server and using the RTSP protocol. It consists of a server module function that produces real-time video information using a web camera and a client module function that plays video received from the server in real time. The experiment was conducted by establishing an environment for designing a real-time video playback system using a web camera. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that real-time video playback from the server's web camera worked well.

  • A web-based platform for structural analysis has been developed. The proposed web-based platform is a 2-tier system composed o( client and server sides to reduce the overburden on the server side. Smart Client is applied for the client side to improve the handling speed and UI. For the server side, MSSQL is applied to deal with database and used as a storage for the web. XML WebService is adpoted for the networking between the client and the server. To examine the efficiency of the developed web-based platform a sample study is carried out with a nonlinear earthquake analysis on a SDOF system.

  • There are various researches on MPEG techniques. MPEG technique is used to digital TV(DTV) and internet image communication. Connection method between server and client is usually using wire. Applications may be expanded, if wireless technology is used between server and client system. In this paper, Bluetooth is used for connection method between server and client. Bluetooth offers fast and reliable transmissions of both voice and data over the globally available 2.4GHz ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) band. One of the major application purposes of Bluetooth is the cable replacement for mobile and peripheral devices. Bluetooth has the advantage of small size, low power and low cost. It has the disadvantage of limited bandwidth and limited range. In order to transfer effectively image Information between server and client using Bluetooth, we apply MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 image compression techniques and the results are compared with each other.

  • OPC is the preferred communication standard for sharing process control data at all levels of the enterprise and becomes the global standard, sends/receives the data with PLC programs of inspection system via network, and manages various data using OPC server. In this paper, we introduce the developed OPC client system for FPD inspection system with OPC server. To control inspection system through OPC server, we have developed libraries which consist of stage driver, switch driver, microscope driver, image processing, alignment, and task management modules. Also we have developed the test program to verify all functions precisely. We describe the mechanism of inspection system, OPC connection method, and programs.

  • An automatic remote water measurement system was developed. This system sends automatic remote measured and collected water meters data automatically from the transmitter with CDMA modem through SK-Telecom network The water meter data are received through LAH TCP/IP and displayed as test file on IE(Internet Explorer) window. The existing water meters of mechanical type have so many problems to measure data. The person must visit the location of each water meters and write down the data records manually. In this system the RF module has attached each water meter Client/Server programs are developed by network socket programming.

  • We are developed out-patient order communication system using server/client architecture. We used Microsoft SQL server for relational database and Visual basic language for client. The configuration of system hardware is 486 DX servers and 200 node 486/SX PC and 10 base T network.

  • In this paper, a Mobile Continuous Query Processing System (MCQPS) is designed to solve problems related to database hoarding, maintenance of shared data consistency, and optimization of logging. These problems are caused by weak connectivity and disconnection of wireless networks inherent in mobile database systems under mobile client-server environments. We show the superiority of the proposed MCQPS by comparing its performance to the Client-Intercept-Server (C-I-S) model. In addition, several experimental results show the effectiveness of our proposed indexing structure and methodology for real-time continuous queries.

  • 데이터 센터의 전력 소모가 크고, 그 중에 컴퓨터 서버의 전력 소모 비중이 높기 때문에, 최근 서버의 전력 절약을 위한 연구가 다양한 방향에서 진행되고 있다. 서버 컴퓨터의 구성 유닛들 중에서 특히 CPU는 주된 전력 소모 원인이다. 본 논문에서는 게임 서버 클러스터 환경에서 서버 CPU의 전력 소모를 최소화하기 위한 신규 클라이언트들을 서버에 배정하는 방법을 제안한다. 우리는 클라이언트-서버 배정 문제를 최적화 문제로 모델링하고, 시뮬레이티드 어닐링 기반 방법으로 그 해를 구한다. 우리의 방법의 특징들 중 하나는 CPU의 동작 주파수를 부하에 따라 적절히 선택하는 것으로서, 저 부하시에는 낮은 주파수를 선택해 전력 소모를 줄이게 된다. 우리의 조사에 따르면, 온라인 게임 서버의 전력 소모를 고려한 클라이언트-서버 배정에 관한 연구는 거의 없었다.

  • Streaming Technology can support the real-time playback without downloading and storing multimedia data in local HDD. So, client browser or plug-in can represent multimedia data before the end of file transmission using streaming technology. Recently, the demand for efficient real-time playback and transmission of large amounts of multimedia data is growing rapidly. But most users' connections over network are not fast and stable enough to download large chunks of multimedia data. In this paper, we propose an intelligent IP streaming system based on personalized media service. The proposed IP streaming system enables users to get an intelligent recommendation of multimedia contents based on the user preference information stored on the streaming server or the home media server. The supposed intelligent IP streaming system consists of Server Metadata Agent, Pumping Server, Contents Storage Server, Client Metadata Agent and Streaming Player. And in order to implement the personalized media service, the user information, user preference information and client device information are managed under database concept. Moreover, users are assured of seamless access of streamed content event if they switch to another client device by implementing streaming system based on user identification and device information. We evaluate our approach with manufacturing home server system and simulation results.
