  • In this paper, we developed a more efficient system for the remote control and monitoring of a wheeled mobile robot using internet without spatial limitation. The hardware configuration of the remote control system for a wheeled mobile robot includes a client PC executed on the remote site, a embedded web-server and a mobile robot with many measuring equipments. The communication between a client PC and a embedded web-server is implemented through internet. And the Bluetooth module is used for connecting a embedded web-server and a mobile robot. A GUI program has been developed by using JavaScript in order to easily control a mobile robot on a client PC.

  • In this study, a web-based system was developed by utilizing finite element method and virtual system designed using Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML). The simulation program for axi-symetric sheet forming is developed using finite flement method. The developed system consists of two modules, client module and server module. The client module was developed by using Active-X control. The input data for FEM calculation is transferred to the server module by using communication protocol. Then sever module performs several successive processes: input data generation, forming simulation, conversion of results to VRML format. After that, the results from the simulation can be visualized on the web browser in client computer. Besides, client module offers the capability to control and navigate on virtual forming machine and calculated result. By using this system simulation result can be investigated more realistically in virtual environment including forming machine.

  • Recently, the study on the design of NCS(Network Control System) using Ethernet is being rapidly progressed. NCS can be extensively applied in manufacturing automation, office automation, home automation, remote control and ect. A merit of NCS on based Ethernet is to make good use of advanced Internet environment and to apply a application of abundant TCP/IP upper layer to NCS. The purpose of this paper is to control a speed of DC-motor using NCS on based Ethernet. The control system is divided into a server part and a client part. A server transfers a value of reference speed of a DC-motor. A client receives a output signal of DC-motor and a reference input obtained from the server. A client computes a error of two signals and then makes a control input. The control input is transferred to a actuator In this pater, A controller uses a classical control using a general feedback. In this paper, a viewpoint is to compare performance of NCS with performance of a classical control and to analyze the cause of that.

  • Most of the multiplayer games available online are based on a client-server architecture because this architecture gives better administration control to the game providers than peer-to-peer architecture. In this architecture, the server is responsible for all the communication between the connected clients. The weakness of this architecture is its bandwidth requirement and scalability. Peer-to-peer architectures have then been proposed to solve these issues. In this paper, we propose a hybrid client-server architecture in which the game state is partially shared by the mobile terminal to achieve consistency among different players. Like a peer-to-peer architecture, this architecture uses client-side capacities to reduce bandwidth requirements for the server and improves consistency in wireless networks. Client events have different timeliness and consistency requirements according to their nature in the game world. These requirements lead to tasks with different priorities on CPU processing. In the proposed architecture, either the server or the client applies consistency mechanism according to the priority level. Simulation experiments show that the bandwidth of the server in this architecture is smaller than that of the client-server architecture. As a result, the server in the proposed architecture can accommodate more clients with enhancing the scalability.

  • In this paper, we propose a remote controller for robot manipulator using local area network(LAN) and internet. To do this, we develope a server-client system as used in the network field. The client system is in any computer in remote place for the user to log-in the server and manage the remote factory. the server system is a computer which controls the manipulator and waits for a access from client. The server system consists of several control algorithms which is needed to drive the manipulator and networking system to transfer images that shows states of the work place, and to receive a Tmp data to run the manipulator The client system consists of 3D(dimension) graphic user interface for teaching and off-line task like simulation, external hardware interface which makes it easier for the user to teach. Using this server-client system, the user who is on remote place can edit the work schedule of manipulator, then run the machine after it is transferred and monitor the results of the task.

  • In information age, sharing about the information and various techniques to control other computers which are connected in network started to appear. One of these techniques is remote control system. However, conventional remote control systems have had a lot of inconvenience to use because of limited functions. For example, it always has to connect to the electricity supply to operate the server program. Also, one-to-one remote control is only possible by one's permission. In order to solve the problems of the conventional remote control system's limited functions, this paper implements the system which applies the WOL(Wake On Lan) function to be possible remote power control to multi client computers by one server computer connected to a lot of client computers not one-to-one.

  • In this paper, we proposed and designed a novel SNA protocol which operates in the way of a server and a client in the power control system. The proposed SNA protocol includes the information about the mode switching, the saving position of context information, the user trigger, and so forth, which are needed in the power management devices. We consider the application of the SNA protocol to the home network, where message flows between the SNA server and the SNA client. To verify the operation of the SNA protocol, the state transition diagrams of the server in the home gateway and the client in the network device are shown. Hence, we can conclude the SNA can operate without malfuction.

  • An implementation scheme and some improvements are proposed to adopt public-licensed operating system, Linux and de-facto world-wide network standard, TCP/IP into the field of behavior-based autonomous mobile robots. To demonstrate the needs of scheme and the improvement, an analysis is performed on a server/client communication problem with real time Linux previously proposed, and another analysis is also performed on interactions among TCP/IP communications and the performance of Linux system using them. Implementation of behavior-based control architecture on real time Linux is proposed firstly. Revised task-scheduling schemes are proposed that can enhance the performance of server/client communication among local tasks on a Linux platform. A new method of TCP/IP packet flow handling is proposed that prioritizes TCP/IP software interrupts with aperiodic server mechanism as well. To evaluate the implementation scheme and the proposed improvements, performance enhancements are shown through some simulations.
