  • 인터넷을 통한 실시간 멀티미디어 전송에 있어서 인터넷이 "Best effort" 서비스이기 때문에 지연과 지연변이 그리고 패킷 손실 등이 발생하게 되어 서비스의 질에 큰 영향을 미치게 된다. 더욱이 멀티미디어 데이터는 시간에 민감하다는 속성 때문에 네트워크상의 지연이나 지연 변이는 클라이언트 측의 재생지연과 버퍼의 Underflow, 미디어간 동기의 어긋남을 발생시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하기 위해서 네트워크나 서버 측에서의 접근이 아닌 클라이언트의 측면에서 접근하였다. 기존 adaptive한 기법[2][3]을 도입, 개선하므로써 클라이언트가 네트워크의 상태에 적응하여 지연과 지연변이의 영향을 최소화시키도록 클라이언트의 버퍼관리와 playback control을 설계하였다.ol을 설계하였다.

  • 인터랙티브 웹 애플리케이션 개발 도구로 인기를 얻고 있는 Ajax 기술을 이용하여 웹에서 사용하는 도움말(Help) 기능에 적용하였다. 현재 가장 많이 사용하는 MVC 모델(Model, View, Control)은 비즈니스 로직을 서버쪽에 있는 Control에서 모두 처리하지만 Ajax 애플리케이션은 Client 에 있는 브라우저의 JavaScript에서 모두 처리하는 개념이다. 도움말 기능에 Ajax 기술을 사용함으로써 애플리케이션의 응답성이 향상되고 웹 서버의 부담이 줄어 들게 된다.

An Adaptive Feedback Rate Control Algorithm for Unicast Video Transmission

  • In this paper, we propose a novel probing mechanism for adaptive transmission of video data based on congestion control and client state. The proposed mechanism is friendly to the network dominant transport protocols (TCP) and can reduce fluctuations compared to the previous works.

  • In this paper, we propose a design method for the construction of LTE-based small unmanned aerial vehicle control system to quickly and reliably collect multiple small unmanned aerial vehicle position information simultaneously flying all over the country. In particular, the main requirements are the network (N/W), hardware (H/ W), software(SW), Database(DB), development architecture, and business needs. To satisfy these requirements, N/W, H/W, SW, DB design, and architectural design plan were suggested regarding the design requirements of a small UAV system. To effectively control the small unmanned multi-party system in the system design, the architecture is divided into the front-end service area and the back-end service area according to the function and role of the unit system. In the front-end service area that grasps and controls the position and state of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), we have studied the design part that can be expanded to N through TCP/IP network by applying Client PC method.

  • In this paper, we propose an effective web service software platform for remote monitoring and control. We removed the servlet container for better web service performance so as to improve the gSOAP processing which is an essential element of web service implementation. Furthermore, we designed the web service server/client software platform which can be applied to robot or ubiquitous sensor applications. For validation of this study we tested it by manufacturing robot hardware for monitoring control which combined tanks and sensors on a LDS4000 engine board mounted with a PXA270 processor. The practical excellence and the efficiency of the result of this study was validated by the comparison of gSOAP message exchange load between the web service client application and the conventional remote monitoring control technique through a web server.

Adaptive Error Control Scheme for Supporting Multimedia Services on Mobile Computing Environment (이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 멀티미디어 서비스 지원을 위한 적응적 에러 제어 기법)

  • Mobile computing has such characteristics as portability, wireless network, mobility, etc. These characteristics cause various problems to mobile terminals like frequent disconnection, high error rate, and varying network status. These problems motivate us to develop an adaptive error control mechanism for supporting multimedia service in mobile computing environment. In this paper, we propose the Adaptive Error Control(AEC) scheme using client's buffer size and current error rate. After categorizing the status into four groups according to client's buffer size and current error rate, this scheme applies an appropriate error control scheme to each status. In this scheme, thresholds of buffer size and error rate are determined by the data transmission time, play rate and average VOP size, and by the probability of error for a sequence of packets. The performance of proposed scheme is evaluated by flaying MPEG-4 files on an experimental client/server environment, respectively. The results show that error correcting rate is similar to other schemes while the time for correcting error reduce a little. In addition, the size of data for correcting error is decreased by 23% compared with FEC and Hybrid FEC, respectively. Theses results demonstrate that the proposed scheme is more suitable in mobile computing environment with small bandwidth and varying environment than existing schemes.

  • The target of this paper is the development of Web-based monitoring & control system which is for effective and economic management of mold manufacturing process. This system has three module; G-code Control, Monitoring Module and Result analysis module. Also, as the environment of development is based on internet, this system which is possible to the remote site management of manufacturing process works on Web. To be possible to control the manufacturing monitoring by client, each module is made ActiveX control and is based on socket communication. This system makes the foundation which is possible to manage the mold manufacturing process efficiently from remote site by matching real-time monitoring with manufacturing process in factory using G-code control and displaying the result of manufacturing using Ch-CGI.

  • The operation of robot manipulators has a restriction that the operator must reside at the factory, where the manipulator is used. To overcome this restriction, we propose a remote control system using the internet, the system which runs on the Window 95 environment is composed of the remote client which transfers commands to the server which control and manage the manipulator in the factory. In the control of Hong-ik Direct Drive Arm, it is necessary to consider the complex nonlinear parameters causing the mutual interaction between joints, so we use two TMS320C31 DSP chips in the controller for the real time dynamic control algorithms. For the test of system integrity and the verification of the mathematical modeling, we apply CTM, PD and VSS control algorithms and the simulation results are satisfactory.

Development of Comprehensive Nursing Intervention for the Client with Lymphedema (통합적 림프부종 간호중재 개발 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was the development of a comprehensive nursing intervention program for the client with acute lymph stasis and stage I lymphedema. Method: The Quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group was used. The subjects were 22 stroke patients with lymph stasis in the control group and 23 patients in the experimental group. The complex physical therapy of Casley-Smith was carried out to the control group for 10 hours, and comprehensive nursing intervention for the experimental group was carried out for 60 minutes. The data for this study was gathered from Feb. 2002 until June 2002 and pertains knowledge about lymphedema, self-care for managing lymphedema, and circumferences of affected limbs. Data was analyzed by mean, standard deviation, ${\chi}^2-test$, and t-test. Result: The changes in knowledge about lymphedema, self-care practices, and circumference of affected limbs after nursing intervention did not show significant differences between control group and experiment group. Conclusion: It can be concluded that comprehensive nursing intervention had more efficiency than complex physical therapy in the treatment of edema for stroke patients because of it's simplicity and time saving. Thereby, the comprehensive nursing intervention program developed in this study would be a useful therapy for the clients with lymph stasis and early stage lymphedema.
