The Development of Remote Monitoring Technology for URC Robot (URC 로봇 원격 모니터링기술 개발)

  • In the ubiquitous environment, the real-time remote control and monitoring technology for intelligent robot creates service as a sharable and independent of time-location for various contents to get from a sensor or camera of the robot. In this paper, We propose the real-time monitor and control mechanism for intelligent robot called URC(Ubiquitous Robotic Companion). URC are intelligent robots designed as to interact with external digital device that can communicate through wire or wireless by integration the network and information technology into traditional robot. It has been carried out by implementing this technology into the target robot called ISSAC4 and proving its practical worth. We designed feasibly to control on remote site by web-browser. It guarantees a continuity of real-time image transferring by Client-Pull method.

  • In this paper, We are proposed the real-time monitor and control mechanism for intelligent robot called URC(Ubiquitous Robotic Companion). URC are intelligent robots designed as to interact with external digital device that can communicate through wire or wireless by integration the network and information technology into traditional robot. In this paper, we implemented the result of this study into the target robot called ISSAC4 and proved its practical worth. We designed it as be able to control on remote by such web browser as anywhere and anytime that show a status information for several controllers, devices, actuators and sensors of robot and guarantee a continuity of real-time image transferring by Client-Pull method and moving control of robot.

  • In this paper, an Android based ubiquitous interface for controlling service robots is presented. The robot server captures the images for the front view of the robot, makes a map of the environment and its position, produces a graphic image of its pose, and then transmits them to the Android client. The Android client displays them in the LCD panel and transfers control information obtained from touched buttons to the server. In the interface environment, we implement remote moving mode, autonomous moving mode, and remote operation mode for being used for versatile operability to the robot with limited screen of the smart phone. Experimental results show the implementation of the proposed interface in Android installed on Motoroi to control a service robot, and demonstrate its feasibility.

  • A vibration in the building occurs by influences of the facility equipment and the structural system. As the building recently becomes higher and bigger, the vibration in the floor slab is issued. Specially, the vibration with $4{\sim}8Hz$ frequency is harder to control than any other range of frequency. This vibration easily affects human sensibility and often makes the resonance phenomenon by corresponding with the floor slab's natural frequency when people and heavy equipments move. Moreover, the permission regulations for the vibration of the building are established by building's purposes. However, it is not subdivided in detail and sometimes ambiguous to each client. Even though the vibration could cause negative influences in a research building, there is not the vibration criterion for a research building. Therefore, it is necessary to set up its own vibration criterion with the client before building and to keep checking this vibration criterion under the construction. This study proposes the reasonable control methods and the vibration criterion for floor slab's vibration which are adapted to the R4-project. The R4-project is a research building and a high-rise building also. Accordingly, this study could help to the next similar project in the design and the construction phase.

A Study on Development of Conversion Software for Controller Without OPC Stack to Communicate With OPC DA Client (OPC 스택이 없는 제어기와 OPC DA 클라이언트를 통신시키는 변환 소프트웨어 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes method about development of conversion software for controller without OPC stack to communicate with OPC DA client. The proposed method is composed of development of OPC server based on OPC DA standard protocol, development of GUI application can be checked the OPC tag and point informations, development of conversion module to convert from OPC protocol to open standard protocol. In the stage of development of OPC server based on OPC DA standard protocol, we develope server in the pc to transmit and receive datum through OPC DA protocol with OPC DA client. In the stage of evelopment of GUI application can be checked the OPC tag and point informations, run the OPC DA server and register to window system registry and check OPC tags, points, transmitting and receiving of data from serial communication. In the stage of development of conversion module to convert from OPC protocol to open standard protocol, convert from OPC tag data which has received from OPC DA client to protocol can be communicated with industrial controller using open standard protocol so that support to transmit and receive data. To evaluate the efficiency of the proposed software, we connected OPC DA server software and OPC client, and 5 sample industrial controller which use open standard protocol, as a result we got 96.98% average communication succeeding rate among entire transmitting and receiving packets. We also confirmed that successfully communicated between industrial building controller which uses modbus protocol and industrial OPC DA client using OPC DA conversion software proposed by this dissertation.

  • CCD camera is usually used for monitoring device. In most cases, he monitoring is performed from long distance. In this study, a camera system controlled through internet is developed. Using the system, not only we can get image information in real time but also we can control the orientation of the camera from long distance. Furthermore wireless communication is carried out between the camera and the server computer for verity of the application.

The PHP can be used in the server without any interpreter. Simple page can be constructed using the html and the results can be immediately showing client PC using web-cam.

  • This papers deals with feasibility study of wireless motion control. Wireless telecommunication advances with development of IT technology and extends more and more areas. So we selected Bluetooth out of the technologies(Bluetooth, SWAP(SharedWireless Access Protocol), IrDA(Infra Red Data Association), WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network)) which was developed for local data communication and set up simple experimental system for wireless data transfer and server and client program for wireless data transfer was wrote. We successfully transferred some data wirelessly with this program.

  • This study implemented a remote control system using PDA based on WINDOWS CE. NET. In existing remote control systems, the user generally controls remote objects and obtain data using a computer, which is a local system connected to the internet, and the remote objects are connected to server computers. In order to control remote objects, the user has to have a computer, a space to use the Internet, and wired internet. The system proposed in this study uses an embedded board as a server and PDA as a client. Thus, the user can control remote objects at any place as long as wireless internet is available. In addition, because an embedded board is used as a server, the system has the characteristics of high performance and low power consumption. The proposed system provides not only remote control environment using PDA but also conventional control environment using a computer as a client. In case PDA is not available, remote objects still can be controlled from any place as long as there are wired internet and a computer.

  • The efficiency of algorithms managing data caches has a major impact on the performance of systems that utilize client-side data caching. In these systems, two versions of data can be maintained without an additional space overhead of the server by exploiting the replication of data in the server's buffer and clients' caches. In this paper, we present a new cache consistency algorithm employing versions: Two Versions-Callback Locking (2V-CBL). Our experimental results indicate that 2V-CBL provides good performance, particularly outperforms a leading cache consistency algorithm, Asynchronous Avoidance-based Gache Consistency, when some clients run only read-only transactions.
