  • As the scale of e-commerce has been increasing, information about products and service become diversified, Most current internet shopping mall. however, provides product information to consumers in collective arrangement. thus they devote a lot of efforts and time to select the product they want, In this paper, as providing consumers convenient interfaces adapting feature inquirer and parallel coordinate, a method for selecting a right product through searching the wanted products easily and comparing their features efficiently has been proposed. To evaluate the efficiency of the method proposed in this paper, several experiments to measure the time spent and the number of clicks of mouse taken in finding the product they want have been conducted. The results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • The functional behavior of a consumer electronic product is nearly all expressed with human-machine interaction (HMI) tasks. Although physical prototyping and computer aided design (CAD) software can show the appearance of the product, they cannot properly reflect its functional behavior. In this paper, we propose an approach to virtual prototyping (VP) that incorporates HMI functional simulation into virtual reality techniques in order to enables users to capture not only the realistic look of a consumer electronic product but also its functional behavior. We adopt state transition methodology to capture the HMI functional behavior of the product into a state transition chart, which is later used to construct a finite state machine (FSM) for the functional simulation of the product. The FSM plays an important role to control the transition between states of the product. We have developed a VP system based on the proposed approach. The system receives input events such as mouse clicks on buttons and switches of the virtual prototype model, and it reacts to the events based on the FSM by activating associated activities. The system provides the realistic visualization of the product and the vivid simulation of its functional behavior using head-mounted displays (HMD) and stereo speakers. It can easily allow users to perform functional evaluation and usability testing. A case study about the virtual prototyping of an MP3 player is given to show the usefulness of the proposed approach.

  • The aim of this study was to examine the effect of differences in age and sex on vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP), particularly in normal participants. Briefly, the VEMP is a response elicited by loud clicks or tone bursts recorded from the tonically contracted sternocleidomastoid muscle. A total of 72 participants were divided into 6 groups according to their age and sex (20~30/F, 20~30/M, 40~50/F, 40~50/M, ${\geq}60/F$, ${\geq}60/M$). We got the data of latency, amplitude, and asymmetry index of the amplitude(ASI) from them. As a result of this study, there are variations in VEMP amplitudes and ASI depending on the muscle tension and the intensity of stimuli. In contrast, the latency of the response is usually less varied and does not differ significantly.

  • This study aims to investigate information seeking behavior of Popshoes users. Transaction logs of Popshoes, a major Korean shopping search engine, were analyzed. These transaction logs were collected over 3 months period, from January 1 to March 31, 2015. The results of this study show that Popshoes users behave in a simple and passive way. In the total sessions, more users chose to browse a directory than typing and submitting a query. However, queries played a more crucial role in important decision makings such as search results clicks and product purchases than directory browsing. The results of this study can be implemented to the effective development of shopping search engines.

  • Panning tasks caused by both a small screen and the lower resolution of handheld devices are known to decrease the usability of a mobile internet service. To solve this problem, we proposed FTND, an improved version of Tap-N-Drag widely used in various mobile web browsers. 30 participants performed the panning tasks with FTND embedded in combinations of 2 panning directions of Push Background user interface and Push Viewpoint user interface and 5 panning ratios of 100% (a panning ratio of Tap- N-Drag), 300%, 500%, 700%, and 900%. The usability of FTND was assessed by an objective performance and a subjective preference. The objective performance was measured by a task completion time, the number of clicks, and the number of pixels. The subjective preference was measured by satisfaction, accuracy and ease of use. Push Viewpoint user interface at the panning ratios of 300%, 500%, and 700% proved to be the most efficient way for panning tasks with small handheld devices when performing the task by using the right hand thumb.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the performances for FH/CPFSK system with limiter - discriminator detection and integrate-and-dump post-detection filtering under thermal noise and partial-band jamming noise. And, we considered intersymbol interference - related SNR and differential phase parameters for all eight of the possible adjacent bit data patterns, FM noise clicks for evaluating FH/CPFSK and CPFSK systems. In result, the optimum modulation index h was 0.7 and the optimum value of bandwidth-time product D was 1.0. Next, when we considered the thermal noise under the partial-band jamming, the thermal noise significantly influenced the error probability of system below 20dB approximately but could ignore above 20dB.

  • The laboratory animal group separation is dividing animal population into subgroups, which have similar average and standard deviation values among the subgroups, based on the biological characteristics such as body weight, glucose level in blood, etc. Although group separation is very important and initial step in experimental design, it needs a labor intensive process for researchers because of making similar average and standard deviation values among the subgroups using the raw biological characteristics. To reduce the labor cost and increase the efficiency of animal grouping, we developed a web program named as laboratory animal group separation (LAGS) program. This LAGS uses biological characteristics of population, number of group, and the number of elements per each subgroup as input data. The LAGS automatically separates the population into each subgroup that has similar statistical data such as average and standard deviation values among subgroups. It also provides researchers with the extraordinary data generated in the process of grouping and the final grouping results by graphical display. Through our LAGS, researchers can validate and confirm results of laboratory animal group separation by just a few mouse clicks.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the performances of system considering diversity for FH/CPFSK system with limiter-discrimicator detection and integrate-and-dump post-detection filtering. And, we considered thermal noise and partial-band jamming noise, intersymbol interference for all eight of the possible adjacent bit data patterns, FM noise clicks for evaluation systems. In result, the performance of FH/CPFSK system with diversity under the worst-case partial band jamming noise degraded about 5dB rather than that of without diversity when we considered the thermal noise but improved about 16dB rather than of without diversity when we ignored the thermal noise.

  • We propose a method using a transformation of an object and a scene tree in order to author MPEG-4 contents for mobile devices in this paper. The method transforms media objects in the scene into geometry objects in order to reduce initial loading time of the contents, and reduces an external form of each object in a scene of the content for presenting it efficiently on the small interface of mobile devices. Therefore, the contents for mobile devices are reconstructed by the method. An original object in the scene is presented on a mobile device when a user clicks a related geometry object. The method was applied to a conventional authoring tool, so we could find that the method showed an efficient presentation of MPEG-4 contents on mobile devices.

  • The five elements of big data are said to be Volume, Variety, Velocity, Veracity, and Value. Among them, data lacking the Veracity of the data or fake data not only makes an error in decision making, but also hinders the creation of value. This study analyzed YouTube's revenue structure to focus the effect of data integrity on data valuation among these five factors. YouTube is one of the OTT service platforms, and due to COVID-19 in 2020, YouTube creators have emerged as a new profession. Among the revenue-generating models provided by YouTube, the process of generating advertising revenue based on click-based playback was analyzed. And, analyzed the process of subtracting the profits generated from invalid activities that not the clicks due to viewers' pure interests, then paying the final revenue. The invalid activity in YouTube's revenue structure is Raw Data, not pure viewing activity of viewers, and it was confirmed a direct impact on revenue generation. Through the analysis of this process, the new Data Value Chain was proposed.
