  • Combining multiple classifiers to obtain improved performance over the individual classifier has been a widely used technique. The task of constructing a multiple classifier system(MCS) contains two different issues : how to generate a diverse set of base-level classifiers and how to combine their predictions. In this paper, we review the characteristics of the existing multiple classifier systems: bagging, boosting, and stacking. And then we propose new MCSs: stacked bagging, stacked boosting, bagged stacking, and boasted stacking. These MCSs are a sort of hybrid MCSs that combine advantageous characteristics of the existing ones. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed schemes, we conducted experiments with nine different real-world datasets from UCI KDD archive. The result of experiments showed the superiority of our hybrid MCSs, especially bagged stacking and boosted stacking, over the existing ones.

  • This paper presents a serial communication based fault diagnosis scheme for a brushless DC (BLDC) motor using parameter estimation and Bayes classifier. The presented scheme consists of a smart network board, and a fault detection and isolation (FDI) master. The smart network board is installed near the BLDC motor drive system to acquire motor data and transmit motor data to the FDI-master via serial communication channel. The FDI-master estimates BLDC motor resistance to detect symptom of faults, and assign symptom to fault type using Bayes classifier. In this scheme, since communication time delay has a serious effect on performance, periodic and fixed communication protocol is designed. Hence, the delay time is priory known. By experiment result, presented scheme was verified.

  • Rice (Oryza Sativa) is an important source of food for the people of our country, even though of world also .It is also considered as the staple food of our country and we know agriculture is the main source country's economy, hence the crop of Rice plays a vital role over it. For increasing the growth and production of rice crop, ground-breaking technique for the detection of any type of disease occurring in rice can be detected and categorization of rice crop diseases has been proposed in this paper. In this research paper, we perform comparison between two classifiers namely MDC and Bayes' classifiers Survey over different digital image processing techniques has been done for the detection of disease in rice crops. The proposed technique involves the samples of 200 digital images of diseased rice leaf images of five different types of rice crop diseases. The overall accuracy that we achieved by using Bayes' Classifiers and MDC are 69.358 percent and 81.06 percent respectively.

  • To improve fault isolation performance of the Bayes isolator, this paper proposes the Fuzzy-Bayes isolator, which uses the Fuzzy-Bayes classifier as a fault isolator. The Fuzzy-Bayes classifier is composed of the Bayes classifier and weighting factor, which is determined by fuzzy inference logic. The Mahalanobis distance derivative is mapped to the weighting factor by fuzzy inference logic. The Fuzzy-Bayes fault isolator is designed for the BLDC motor fault diagnosis system. Fault isolation performance is evaluated by the experiments. The research results indicate that the Fuzzy-Bayes fault isolator improves fault isolation performance and that it can reduce the transition region chattering that is occurred when the fault is injected. In the experiment, chattering is reduced by about half that of the Bayes classifier's.

  • Phishing website has become a crucial concern in cyber security applications. It is performed by fraudulently deceiving users with the aim of obtaining their sensitive information such as bank account information, credit card, username, and password. The threat has led to huge losses to online retailers, e-business platform, financial institutions, and to name but a few. One way to build anti-phishing detection mechanism is to construct classification algorithm based on machine learning techniques. The objective of this paper is to compare different classifier ensemble approaches, i.e. random forest, rotation forest, gradient boosted machine, and extreme gradient boosting against single classifiers, i.e. decision tree, classification and regression tree, and credal decision tree in the case of website phishing. Area under ROC curve (AUC) is employed as a performance metric, whilst statistical tests are used as baseline indicator of significance evaluation among classifiers. The paper contributes the existing literature on making a benchmark of classifier ensembles for web phishing detection.

  • In this paper, we present the development of an intelligent diagnosis system for detecting faults of the low voltage wires. The wire detecting system based on the Time-Frequency Domain Reflectometry (TFDR) algorithm shows the condition of the wires. We analyze the reflected signal which is sent from the wire detecting system and classify the fault type of the wires by using the intelligent diagnosis system. Through the TFDR, generally, the conditions of the wires are classified into the three types - damage, open and short. In order to classify the fault type efficiently, we use the fuzzy classifier which is represented as IF-THEN rules. Finally, we show the utility of the proposed algorithm by performing the simulation which is based on the data of the coaxial cable.

  • Piezoelectric sensor-based health monitoring technique using a two-step support vector machine (SYM) classifier is discussed for damage identification of a railroad track. An active sensing system composed of two PZT patches was investigated in conjunction with both impedance and guided wave propagation methods to detect two kinds of damage of the railroad track (one is a hole damage of 0.5cm in diameter at web section and the other is a transverse cut damage of 7.5cm in length and 0.5cm in depth at head section). Two damage-sensitive features were extracted one by one from each method; a) feature I: root mean square deviations (RMSD) of impedance signatures and b) feature II: wavelet coefficients for $A_0$ mode of guided waves. By defining damage indices from those damage-sensitive features, a two-dimensional damage feature (2-D DF) space was made. In order to minimize a false-positive indication of the current active sensing system, a two-step SYM classifier was applied to the 2-D DF space. As a result, optimal separable hyper-planes were successfully established by the two-step SYM classifier: Damage detection was accomplished by the first step-SYM, and damage classification was also carried out by the second step-SYM. Finally, the applicability of the proposed two-step SYM classifier has been verified by thirty test patterns.

  • In this study, we introduce the pedestrian detection system by using the feature of HOG-PCA and RBFNNs pattern classifier. HOG(Histogram of Oriented Gradient) feature is extracted from input image to identify and recognize a object. And a dimension is reduced for improving performance as well as processing speed by using PCA which is a typical dimensional reduction algorithm. So, the feature of HOG-PCA through the dimensional reduction by using PCA leads to the improvement of the detection rate. FCM clustering algorithm is used instead of gaussian function to apply the characteristic of input data as well and connection weight is used by polynomial expression such as constant, linear, quadratic and modified quadratic. Finally, INRIA person database known as one of the benchmark dataset used for pedestrian detection is applied for the performance evaluation of the proposed classifier. The experimental result of the proposed classifier are compared with those studied by Dalal.

  • In this paper, we propose a TSK(Takagi-Sugeno-Kang)-type fuzzy classifier using PCA(Principal Component Analysis), FCM(Fuzzy c-Means) clustering, ANFIS(Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System) and hybrid GA(Genetic Algorithm). First, input data is transformed to reduce correlation among the data components by PCA. FCM clustering is applied to obtain a initial TSK-type fuzzy classifier. Parameter identification is performed by AGA(Adaptive GA) and RLSE(Recursive Least Square Estimate). Finally, we applied the proposed method to Iris data classificationl problems and obtained a better performance than previous works.
