This paper considers the problem of robust stabilization and disturbance attenuation for a class of uncertain singularly perturbed systems with norm-bounded nonlinear uncertainties. It is shown that the state feedback gain matrices can be determined to guarantee the stability of the closed-loop system for all $\varepsilon$$\in$(0, $\infty$). Based on this key result and some standard Riccati inequality approaches for robust control of singularly perturbed systems, a constructive design procedure is developed.
In this study, to control the heading angle of a ship, which is constantly subjected to various internal and external disturbances during the voyage, an LADRC (linear active disturbance rejection control) design that focuses more on improving the disturbance removal performance was proposed. The speed rate of change of the ship's heading angle due to the turn of the rudder angle was selected as a significant factor, and the nonlinear model of the ship's maneuvering equation, including the steering gear, was treated as a total disturbance. It is the similar process with an LADRC design for the first-order transfer function model. At this time, the gains of the controller included in LADRC and the gains of the extended state observer were tuned to RCGAs (real-coded genetic algorithms) to minimize the integral time-weighted absolute error as an evaluation function. The simulation was performed by applying the proposed GA-LADRC controller to the heading angle control of the Mariner class vessel. In particular, it was confirmed that the proposed controller satisfactorily maintains and follows the set course even when the disturbances such as nonlinearity, modelling error, uncertainty and noise of the measurement sensor are considered.
A design method of a T-S fuzzy model based reduced order nonlinear unknown input observer(NUIO) is presented. The fuzzy NUIO is designed based on the parallel distributed compensation(PDC) concept. It consists of a number of the linear UIOs, each of which is designed for each local linear model in the T-S fuzzy model of a class of nonlinear systems. The fuzzy NUIO provides not only the state estimates insensitive to the unknown inputs, for example, disturbances and faults etc., but also the estimates of the unknown inputs. Therefore, It can be employed in the state feedback control and disturbance rejection control of a class of nonlinear systems with unknown disturbances. It also applied to the robust residual generation for the fault detection and isolation systems and to the design of fault tolerant control systems. As an example, the NUIO is applied to an inverted pendulum system to show the state and disturbance estimation performance and to illustrate the fuzzy reduced order NUIO design method.
The disturbance attenuation problem for a class of discretetime switched linear systems with exponential uncertainties via switched state feedback and switched dynamic output feedback is investigated, respectively. By using Taylor series approximation and convex polytope technique, exponentially uncertain discrete-time switched linear system is transformed into an equivalent switched polytopic model with additive norm bounded uncertainty. For such equivalent switched model, one designs its switching strategy and associated state feedback controllers and dynamic output feedback controllers so that whole switched model is asymptotical stabilization with H-in nity disturbance attenuation base on switched Lyapunov function and LMI approach. Finally, two numerical examples are presented to illustrate our results.
A controller is proposed for the robust adaptive backstepping control of a class of uncertain nonlinear systems using nonlinear disturbance observer (NDO). The NDO is applied to estimate the time-varying lumped disturbance in each step, but a disturbance observer error does not converge to zero since the derivative of lumped disturbance is not zero. Then the fuzzy neural network (FNN) is presented to estimate the disturbance observer error such that the outputs of the system are proved to converge to a small neighborhood of the desired trajectory. The proposed control scheme guarantees that all the signals in the closed-loop are semiglobally uniformly ultimately bounded on the basis of the Lyapunov theorem. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and the applicability of the approaches proposed.
In this paper, an efficient approach to classification of transient and harmonic disturbances in power systems is proposed. First, the Stop-and-Go CA CFAR Detector is utilized to detect a disturbance from the power signals which are mixed with other disturbances and noise. Then, (i) Wigner Distribution, SVD(Singular Value Decomposition) and Fisher´s Criterion (ii) DWT and Fisher´s Criterion, are applied to extract an efficient feature vector. For the classification procedure, a combined neural network classifier is proposed to classify each corresponding disturbance class. Finally, the 10 class data simulated by Matlab power system blockset are used to demonstrate the performance of the proposed classification system.
In this paper, we address the robust adaptive backstepping controller using fuzzy neural network (FHIN) for a class of uncertain output feedback nonlinear systems with disturbance. A new algorithm is proposed for estimation of unknown bounds and adaptive control of the uncertain nonlinear systems. The state estimation is solved using K-fillers. All unknown nonlinear functions are approximated by FNN. The FNN weight adaptation rule is derived from Lyapunov stability analysis and guarantees that the adapted weight error and tracking error are bounded. The compensated controller is designed to compensate the FNN approximation error and external disturbance. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed controller can achieve favorable tracking performance and robustness with regard to unknown function and external disturbance.
A roll eccentricity controller for a tandem cold rolling process is designed to attenuate the outlet thickness deviation due to roll eccentricity. In order to design the controller, the excess stability margin is maximized by solving a standard H.inf. optimization problem under the requirement that ensure disturbance rejection for a class of disturbance. Robust performance of the proposed controller is checked by a computer simulation.
Majority of industrial robots are controlled by a simple joint servo control of joint actuators. In this type of control, the performance of control is influenced greatly by the joint interaction torques including Coriolis and centrifugal forces, which act as disturbance torques to the control system. As the speed of the robot increases, the effect of this disturbance torque increases, and makes the high speed-high precision control more difficult to achieve. In this paper, the joint disturbance torque of robots is analyzed. The joint disturbance torque is defined using the coefficients of dynamic equation of motion, and for the case of a 2DOF planar robot, the conditions for the maximum joint disturbance torques are identified, and the effect of link parameters and joint variables on the joint disturbance torque are examined. Then, a solutioin to the optimal path placement problem is proposed that minimizes the joint disturbance torque are examined. then, a solution to the optimal path placement problem is proposed that minimizes the joint disturbance torque during a straight line motion. the proposed method is illustrated using computer simulation. the proposed solution method cna be applied to the class of robots that are controlled by independent joint sevo control, which includes the vast majority of industrial robots. By minimizing the joint disturbacne torque during the motion, the simple joint servo controlled robot can move with improved path tracking accuracy at high speed.
