Analysis of the Stumpage Valuation for Pinus koraiensis Stands in the Research Forest of Kangwon National University

  • This paper assesses the stmpage value of Korean white pine (Pinus koraiensis) stands in the Research Forest of Kangwon National University. Assessment was done by means of the cost value method (Faustmann formula) for age class I, Glaser method for age class II-V, and inversion market method for age class over VI. Generally the value of stumpage is calculated by the inversion market method in the market. However, immature trees and middle age class trees are not assessed in market, and the Korean forest is not old enough to harvest. So, when forests are damaged by attacks from forest fire, blight and harmful insects, the forest cannot be compensated for the loss from the government or insurance company. For this reason, the value of all-age class trees are calculated by using appropriate methods. As a result, the value of age I class stands (0.3 ha) is calculated as 1,786,305 (won), age II-Vclass stands (22.1 ha) 206,677,975 (won) and age VI class and over stands (24.8 ha) 523,789,603 (won).

  • 본 논문은 소프트웨어를 재사용하기 위한 클래스 라이브러리 관리 시스템(CLMS: Class Library Management System)을 설계하고 구현에 관한 것이다. 통신 관련 소프트웨어의 특징은 소프트웨어가 방대하고, 다른 소프트웨어와 달리 개발이 완료되어도 끊임없이새로운 서비스를 수용해야 하며 개발 후 유지보수 및 신규 서비스의 확장 및 추가가 용이해야 한다는 것이다. 이러한 특징 때문에 소프트웨어 재사용은 생산성과 품질 향상에 기여할것이다. 클래스 라이브러리 관리 시스템은 객체지향 데이타베이스를 기반으로 클래스 등록기, 클래스 검색기, 클래스 항해기로 이루어져 있으며 원시 코드뿐만 아니라 SDL 설계 명세서도 재사용 할 수 있도록 고안되었다.

  • Consider a class of rank tests for comparing several treatments with a control and discuss some members among the class. New rank test based on orthogonal contrasts is proposed and compared with other well known tests. The approximate powers of the proposed test are also presented through the simulation studies.

  • 정보사회가 가져온 변화로 보다 더 효율적으로 학급을 경영할 수 있는, 학급경영 지원시스템으로서의 사이버 공간이 필요한 시점이 되었다. 본 연구는 Web 기반의 학급경영 지원시스템을 설계하고 구현하여 바람직한 인터넷 활용 방향을 모색하고 보다 더 효율적인 학급경영을 이끌어 낼 수 있도록 하였다. 학급 경영 과업 중에서 Web에서 구현 가능한 내용을 적용하여, 인터넷 활용을 보다 더 교육적인 방법으로 유도하고, 올바른 인성 함양, Web 자원의 학습적 활용, 학생을 특기와 적성을 신장시켜, 시간적 공간적 제약을 벗어나 학급경영의 지원 역할을 충분히 할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 시스템을 적용하여 학생들이 적극적으로 참여할 수 있도록 이끌어 낼 때 한 차원 높은 학급 경영이 이루어지는 계기가 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 전통적인 학급경영시스템은 교사의 독단적인 의사에 의해 운영되는 경우가 일반적이다. 그러나 오늘날에는 자질을 갖춘 민주시민을 양성하기 위해 학생과 교사 모두 함께 자치 규범을 만들어 스스로 학급을 운영하도록 요구하고 있다. 그래서 기존의 학급 경영시스템은 이러한 다양성을 가진 오늘날의 학급에 더 이상 적합하지 않다. 본 연구에서는 REDIS를 활용한 학급경영 웹 어플리케이션 프레임워크를 설계한다. REDIS는 일종의 다양한 키 값을 저장하는 데이터 저장소인데 보통 공유 메모리를 가진 웹 어플리케이션을 개발하기 위한 솔루션을 제공한다. 개발될 웹 어플리케이션 프레임워크는 사용의 편의성과 접근성을 최대화하도록 설계되어진다. 이러한 학급경영시스템은 프레임워크에서 기본적으로 제공되는 다양한 템플릿 함수들을 사용하여 효과적으로 시스템의 확장성이 향상될 수 있다.

An Exact Splitting Algorithm for a 4-Class-Based Dedicated Linear Storage Problem

  • In this paper, we address a layout design problem for determining an optimal 4-class-based dedicated linear storage layout in a class of unit load storage systems. Assuming that space requirement for a class is the sum of the maximum inventory levels of products assigned to the class, and that one-way travel time is a linear function of storage index, we formulate a 4-class-based dedicated linear storage problem PTL[4] and provide an exact splitting algorithm with $O(n{\lceil}logn{\rceil})$. Our algorithms could be applied to more than a 4-class-based dedicated storage layout problem with slight modification in order to reduce computational execution time.

A Workflow for Practical Programming Class Management Using GitHub Pages and GitHub Classroom

  • In programming classes, there is always a need to efficiently manage programming assignments. This is especially important as class sizes and assignment complexity grows. GitHub and GitHub Classroom makes the management of student assignments much simpler than uploading files and folders to a LMS or shared online drive. Additionally, git and GitHub are industry standard tools, so introducing students these tools in class provides them a good opportunity to start learning about how software is developed in the real-world. This study describes a workflow that uses both GitHub Pages and GitHub Classroom for more efficient classroom and assignment management. The workflow outlined in this study was used in two practical web programming classes in Spring 2023 with 46 third and fourth-year university students. GitHub Pages was used as a classroom website to distribute class announcements, assignments, lecture slides, study guides, and exams. GitHub Classroom was used as a class roster and assignment management platform. The workflow presented in this study is expected to assist other lecturers with the formidable tasks of distributing, collecting, grading, and leaving feedback on multiple students' multi-file programming assignments in practical programming classes.

구조물의 품질 결함 변별력 증대를 위한 수직 에너지 기반의 웨이블릿 Feature 생성 (Structural Quality Defect Discrimination Enhancement using Vertical Energy-based Wavelet Feature Generation)

  • In this paper a novel feature extraction and selection is carried out in order to improve the discriminating capability between healthy and damaged structure using vibration signals. Although many feature extraction and selection algorithms have been proposed for vibration signals, most proposed approaches don't consider the discriminating ability of features since they are usually in unsupervised manner. We proposed a novel feature extraction and selection algorithm selecting few wavelet coefficients with higher class discriminating capability for damage detection and class visualization. We applied three class separability measures to evaluate the features, i.e. T test statistics, divergence, and Bhattacharyya distance. Experiments with vibration signals from truss structure demonstrate that class separabilities are significantly enhanced using our proposed algorithm compared to other two algorithms with original time-based features and Fourier-based ones.

Pareto-Based Multi-Objective Optimization for Two-Block Class-Based Storage Warehouse Design

  • This research proposes a Pareto-based multi-objective optimization approach to class-based storage warehouse design, considering a two-block warehouse that operates under the class-based storage policy in a low-level, picker-to-part and narrow aisle warehousing system. A mathematical model is formulated to determine the number of aisles, the length of aisle and the partial length of each pick aisle to allocate to each product class that minimizes the travel distance and maximizes the usable storage space. A solution approach based on multiple objective particle swarm optimization is proposed to find the Pareto front of the problems. Numerical examples are given to show how to apply the proposed algorithm. The results from the examples show that the proposed algorithm can provide design alternatives to conflicting warehouse design decisions.
