A parametric cubic spline interpolating at fixed number of nodes is constructed by formulating a parametric cubic $g^2$ B-splines $S_3(t)$ with not equally spaced parametric knots. Since the fact that each component is in $C^2$ class is not enough to provide the geometric smoothness of parametric curves, the existence of $S_3(t)$ oriented toward the modified second-order geometric continuity is focalized in our work.

The aim of this paper is to prove some common fixed point theorems for the class of compatible maps to larger class of weakly compatible maps without appeal to continuity in Monger spaces and we also give a set of alternative conditions in place of completeness of the space. We improve and extend the results of Dedeic & Sarapa ［A common fixed point theorem for three mappings on Monger spaces. Math. Japon. 34 (1989), no. 6,919-923］ and Rashwan & Hedar ［On common fixed point theorems of compatible mappings in Monger spaces. Demonstratio Math. 31 (1998), no. 3, 537-546］.

Under the rough kernels Ω belonging to the block spaces B0,qr (Sn-1) or the radial Grafakos-Stefanov kernels W����(Sn-1) for some r, �� > 1 and q ≤ 0, the boundedness and continuity were proved for two classes of rough maximal singular integrals and maximal operators associated to polynomial mappings on the Triebel-Lizorkin spaces and Besov spaces, complementing some recent boundedness and continuity results in [27, 28], in which the authors established the corresponding results under the conditions that the rough kernels belong to the function class L(log L)α(Sn-1) or the Grafakos-Stefanov class ����(Sn-1) for some α ∈ [0, 1] and �� ∈ (2, ∞).

This study investigates English medium instruction (EMI) in an institution of higher education in Seoul, Korea to see whether this course creates cultural correction (reproduction of inequitable relations of power in EMI settings) or cultural continuity (opportunities for transporting students into a third space and enabling them to explore cultural diversity and to create new knowledge for themselves). A single site where EMI is carried out, a class on fairy tales and child education taught by a native English speaking professor, was chosen because it was hypothesized that the professor would display some of her unconscious dominant cultural orientation. The results of the study show that there more cases of cultural correction than there were of cultural continuity. Cases of cultural correction included lack of knowledge about the local context, fixing Korean classroom discourse as if it were American classroom discourse, and reproducing orientalism in the local educational setting. Cases of cultural continuity included using comparison to consider the cultural reality of the milieu, creating new knowledge for the local milieu, and learning as a dynamic ongoing process. Implications of this research are discussed including the important realization that EMI should be managed by subject specialists who are trained in language education and have knowledge of the students' needs and discourse in the L1 and in the local context.

A new class of functions called $R_{\theta}$-supercontinuous functions is introduced. Their basic properties are studied and their place in the hierarchy of strong variants of continuity, which already exist in the literature, is elaborated. The class of $R_{\theta}$-supercontinuous functions properly contains the class of $R_z$-supercontinuous functions [39] which in turn properly contains the class of $R_{cl}$-supercontinuous functions [43] and so includes all cl-supercontinuous (clopen continuous) functions ([38], [34]) and is properly contained in the class of $R_{\delta}$-supercontinuous functions [24].

Let T be a bounded linear operator on a complex Hilbert space $\mathfrak{H}$. An operator T is called class A operator if ${\mid}T^2{\mid}{\geq}{\mid}T{\mid}^2$ and is called class $A({\kappa})$ operator if $(T^*{\mid}T{\mid}^{2{\kappa}}T)^{\frac{1}{{\kappa}+1}}{\geq}{\mid}T{\mid}^2$ for a positive number ${\kappa}$. In this paper, we show that ${\sigma}$ is continuous when restricted to the set of class $A({\kappa})$ operators.

This paper extends the existence proofs of a Nash equilibrium to a more general class of differentila game models with constraints on the control spaces. With the assumptions of continuity, convexity, and compactness, the existence is proved using Kakutani Theorem and via a path-following approach. Furthermore, the proof for a period-by-period optimization of multi-period problems provides an insight to a numerical solution algorithm to differential game models with constraints.

Let K be a compact Hausdorff space, $\mathfrak{A}$ a commutative complex Banach algebra with identity and $\mathfrak{C}(\mathfrak{A})$ the set of characters of $\mathfrak{A}$. In this note, we study the class of functions $f:K{\rightarrow}\mathfrak{A}$ such that ${\Omega}_{\mathfrak{A}}{\circ}f$ is continuous, where ${\Omega}_{\mathfrak{A}}$ denotes the Gelfand representation of $\mathfrak{A}$. The inclusion relations between this class, the class of continuous functions, the class of bounded functions and the class of weakly continuous functions relative to the weak topology ${\sigma}(\mathfrak{A},\mathfrak{C}(\mathfrak{A}))$, are discussed. We also provide some results on its completeness under the norm defined by ${\mid}{\parallel}f{\parallel}{\mid}={\parallel}{\Omega}_{\mathfrak{A}}{\circ}f{\parallel}_{\infty}$.
