This paper attempts to investigate the tonal implementations of English stress clash, arguing that a preceding stress shifts leftward when two lexical stresses conflict across word boundaries or that H* and L* pitch accents are alternatively manifested on the stressed syllables, establishing intonational peak and valley contours. We claim that the H*/L* alternation might be a tonal strategy to avoid stress clash, and that pitch could be solely manipulated to display a rhythmic effect with maintaining lexical stress. In the experiment, we examined two-word combinations whose boundaries involve stress clash, and divided them into two categories. One has the preceding words involving a heavy syllable ahead of stress to guarantee the place for a shifting stress and the other, a light syllable, in which case stress shift is completely prevented. We analyzed the distribution of pitch accents in the word combinations, focusing on the pitch configurations in the cases where stress should not be shifted. Results show that approximately 50% of the stimuli show stress shift in the heavy syllable combinations of the preceding words; the preceding stress is moved leftward within the word. The other 50% and the light syllable combinations show various pitch accents patterns; H* and L* alternation, deaccentuation of either stressed syllable, or L-insertion between two H* pitch accents, etc. We interpret this as a rhythmic effect of tone to avoid stress clash and suggest that a true stress clash would be confined into cases without H*/L* contours.

One of reasons for introducing Building Information Modeling (BIM) is to support clash detection tasks by means of a 3D product model. In the conventional construction project process, clashes have been found during construction phase. However, it can cause cost overrun and time delay. In order to investigate and correct clash detections at design phase, relevant business process and guide for this task should be provided. This study aims to identify hindrances in clash detection tasks at the design phase and analyze its current process using IDEF0 model. Despite the convenience of IDEF0 as a systems analysis tool, professional participants might have difficulties to understand their own tasks according to business process. For this reason, in this research, Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is introduced to provide ideal process and required decision making governance. The provide BPMN model will provide insights for a BIM-based collaborative environment to enhance the constructability through the construction project.

Adopting the Tools of Liberalism and Clash of Civilizations theories of international relations, this study examines the perceptions of 25,406 Arabs in 11 Arab countries as expressed in an Arab Barometer survey exploring their perceptions of violence against the United States (US), American citizens as "good," President Donald Trump's foreign policy in the Middle East, increasing economic relations with the US, and welcoming American foreign aid. As aspects of the Clash of Civilizations theory, this study examines religiosity, religious ritual practices, and political Islam and, as aspects of liberalism, this study explores the roles of online media as well as perceptions about US foreign aid in the prediction of the criterion variables. The findings suggest that religious indicators, and aspects of the Clash of Civilizations generally, were negative predictors of the perceptions, while social media and motivations for US foreign aid as aspects of liberalism, positively predicted the perceptions. The study discusses the results in relation to implications for policy makers.

As BIM in the construction industry has been activated, the building information reliability - design quality is getting important. Meanwhile, it is still difficult to reflect the quality control experience to the modelling since the current methods are strongly rely on a certain BIM tools or systems with formal logics and limited information for quality checking. Therefore, the checking results may contain a lot of issues unrelated or unnecessary to the BIM qualities. In order to overcome this problem, we firstly performed clash check using a conventional checking tool and secondly interpret the results by an Expert System to filter out more meaningful results. We found this study gave a confirmation that it is possible to improve clash quality control when we link the expert experience to the rule-based automatic checking system.

본 실험은 폐타이어칩이 심비디움 Pine Clash 'Moon Venus'의 생장 및 양분함량에 미치는 영향에 대해서 조사하였다. 잎, 줄기의 지상부 생장은폐타이어칩과 바크를 혼용한 경우에는 관행구인 바크와 차이가 없었다. 그러나 폐타이칩 단용구에서는 지상부의 생장이 현저하게 감소하였다. 총근수, 신근수, 근장 등 지하부의 생장도 지상부의 생장과 유사한 경향을 나타내었다. 부패근수는 폐타이어칩 중립과 대립의 단용구에서 증가하였다. 전당, 전분, 엽록소와 N, P, K 등 무기양분의 함량도 폐타이어칩과 바크를 혼용한 경우에는 관행구인 바크와 차이가 없었으나, 폐타이칩 단용구에서는 감소하였다.

Metrical Phonology has asserted that stress shift does not occur in English compounds because it violates the Continuous Column Constraint. Noun phrases, on the other hand, freely allow for stress shift, whereby the preceding stress moves forward to the preceding heavy syllable. This paper hypothesizes that stress does not shift in compounds as opposed to noun phrases and compares their pitch accentual patterns in a phonetic experiment. More specifically, we examined two-word combinations, noun phrases and compounds, whose boundaries involve stress clash and assured that the preceding words involve a heavy syllable ahead of the stress to guarantee the place for a shifting stress. Depending on where the preceding pitch accent is aligned, stress shift is determined. Results show that stress shift occurs in approximately 47% of the noun phrases and 59% of the compounds; therefore, the hypothesis is not borne out. This suggests that the surface representations derived by phonological rules may not be implemented in real utterance but that phonetic forms may be determined by the phonetic constraints. directly operating on human speech.

본 연구는 2012~2013년 국내 전기차 시장에서 크게 논란이 되었던 콤보 전기 자동차 충전 표준과 국내 스마트그리드 표준 간 충돌 사례를 이해관계자 이론을 활용하여 분석하였다. 사례 연구를 위해 문헌 조사 및 복수의 전문가 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 전기 자동차는 충전을 위해 전력망과 연결될 때 데이터 교환을 한다. 따라서 통신 표준 문제가 대두된다. BMW는 글로벌 전기 자동차 시장에서 업계를 대표하는 사실상 표준의 지위를 얻어 가고 있던 콤보 충전 기술을 채택하여 국내 전기차 시장에 진입하였는데, 그 과정에서 국내 스마트 그리드 전력망의 원격검칭용 통신 기술과 상호 주파수 간섭을 일으키는 문제가 발생하였다. 이 문제를 둘러싸고 이해관계자들의 대립이 계속되면서 국내 전기 자동차 충전 기술 관련 표준(국가표준 및 단체표준)화를 위한 의사결정들이 지연되었고, 이 논란은 2014년 1월 콤보 기술이 한국자동차공학회의 단체표준(KSAE SAE 1772-2040, 2014.1)으로 인정되면서 일단락되었다. 이 사건은 전기 자동차 표준 그 자체만이 아니라, 융합산업 시대에 있어서 타 산업 표준과의 충돌 및 조정의 필요성을 부각시키는 의미있는 사례이다. 본 연구는 전기 자동차 충전 표준과 스마트그리드 표준이라는 이종 산업 간의 표준 충돌의 복잡한 역학 관계를 이해 관계자 이론을 적용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구는 표준화 과정을 둘러싼 경험적 및 이론적 연구가 충분하지 않다는 점에서, 이해관계자 이론을 활용한 사례 축적과 방법론 정립에 기여하고, 또한 표준화 과정에 참가하는 이해관계자들이 이 과정에 영향을 미치기 위한 행위 양식 정립과 전략 수립에 유용한 시사점을 제공한다.

PvP 게임에서의 밸런스는 재미있는 게임을 만들고자 하는 많은 개발사들의 지속적인 관심사였다. 또한 게임의 성공과 안정적인 운영을 위해서 밸런스가 중요하다는 인식이 생겨나면서 그 중요성은 날로 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 글로벌 버전 출시 직후 131개국에서 매출 1위를 달성하고, 양대 마켓에서 '올해의 게임'으로 꼽히며 선풍적인 인기를 얻었던 클래시 로얄을 통해 PvP 게임 밸런스 방법에 대해서 살펴보고 안정적인 게임 밸런스를 위한 방안을 제안한다.

본 연구는 왜화제 uniconazole처리가 심비디움 Pine Clash 'Moon Venus'와 Green Sour 'A One' 의 생장 및 개화에 미치는 영향에 대해서 조사하였다. 두 품종 모두 uniconazole의 처리량이 많아질수록 왜화효과가 강하게 나타났으며 'Moon Venus'보다 'A One'의 생장억제가 현저하였다. 화서장은 uniconazole 5g 처리에 의해서 'Moon Venus'의 경우 18.4%, 'A One'의 경우 15.3% 억제되었다. 개화시기, 화서수, 소화수, 하악편의 크기 등은 uniconazole 처리에 의해서 약간의 변화는 있었지만 무처리와 큰 차이는 없었다. 이상의 결과로부터 uniconazole 처리는 심비디움의 영양생장기관인 잎의 생장을 억제하는데 효과적인 왜화제이나 고농도(5g) 처리에서는 화서의 생장까지 억제하여 품질의 하락을 초래할 수도 있기 때문에 적정 처리량은 1g 정도로 판단되었다.

본 연구는 심비디움의 고랭지 이동재배의 대체기술개발을 위하여 생장억제제 uniconazole 처리시기가 심비디움 Pine Clash 'Moon Venus'와 Green Sour 'A One'의 생장 및 개화에 미치는 영향에 대해서 조사하였다. 두 품종 모두 uniconazole의 처리시기가 빠를수록 왜화효과가 강하게 나타났으며 'Moon Venus' 보다 'A One'의 생장억제가 현저하였다. 'Moon Venus'의 경우 5월 7일과 27일 uniconazole 처리에 의해서 개화가 각각 5, 6일 촉진되었으며 또한 화서수, 소화수도 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 'A One'의 경우 개화시기는 처리간에 차이가 없었으나 uniconazole처리에 의해서 화서수와 소화수가 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 두 품종 모두 소화의 크기를 나타내는 하악편의 길이와 폭은 처리간에 차이가 없었다.
