  • Particular historic events such as revolution and wars have given rise to fashion. Luxurious costume representative of the aristocratic culture since the French Revolution was changed into popular look with the collapse of the royal regime. With the restoration of the royal regime by Napoleon, rapid changes associated with the reemergence of the costume of aristocratic brought an opportunity for the revolutionary fashion of bringing about new fashion in the fashion field. Especially, the New Look Presented by Christian Dior in 1947 shortly after the Second World War would be the typical style of revolutionary fashion. Accordingly, this study attempted to analyse the characteristics of new fashion regarding how new fashion occurred and developed in changes in revolutionary fashion after the Revolution and the War, in conjunction with the zeitgeist(time split) of rapid social changes. The ultimate purpose of this study was find out the significance of fashion as to how and why fashion changed in relation to the factors of changes in fashion in the history and create new future fashion by reinterpreting new aesthetic consciousness about the characteristic of new fashion found in changes in revolutionary fashion.

  • Laminated composite shells are commonly used in various engineering applications including aerospace and marine structures. In this paper, using semi-analytical finite strip method, the buckling behavior of laminated composite deep as well as thick shells of revolution under follower forces which remain normal to the shell is investigated. The stiffness caused by pressure is calculated for the follower forces subjected to external fibers in thick shells. The shell is divided into several closed strips with alignment of their nodal lines in the circumferential direction. The governing equations are derived based on first-order shear deformation theory which accounts for through thickness-shear flexibility. Displacements and rotations in the middle surface of shell are approximated by combining polynomial functions in the meridional direction as well as truncated Fourier series with an appropriate number of harmonic terms in the circumferential direction. The load stiffness matrix which accounts for variation of loads direction will be derived for each strip of the shell. Assembling of these matrices results in global load stiffness matrix which may be un-symmetric. Upon forming linear elastic stiffness matrix called constitutive stiffness matrix, geometric stiffness matrix and load stiffness matrix, the required elements for the second step analysis which is an eigenvalue problem are provided. In this study, different parameter effects are investigated including shell geometry, material properties, and different boundary conditions. Afterwards, the outcomes are compared with other researches. By considering the results of this article, it can be concluded that the deformation-dependent pressure assumption can entail to decrease the calculated buckling load in shells. This characteristic is studied for different examples.

  • Construction is one of the oldest fields of providing human living comfort. However, despite the continuous development not only in IT but also in other fields, productivity degradation due to low automation is still serious. In particular, the use of the 4th industrial revolution technologies in construction is just beginning. Blockchain, which is one of the 4th industrial revolution technologies, is a type of a distributed database that is used to replicate, share, and synchronize data spread across different geographical locations, such as multiple sites, countries, or organizations. In this paper, we introduce the block chain and analyze use cases according to seven themes in construction. As a result of the analysis, it is expected to increase the understanding of blockchain in construction and provide usefulness for the development of various services in the future.

  • This paper deals with the nonlinear finite element analysis of fibre-reinforced plastic poles. Based on the principle of stationary potential energy and Novozhilov's derivations of nonlinear strains, the formulations for the geometric nonlinear analysis of general shells are derived. The formulations are applied to the fibre-reinforced plastic poles which are treated as conical shells. A semi-analytical finite element model based on the theory of shell of revolution is developed. Several aspects of the implementation of the geometric nonlinear analysis are discussed. Examples are presented to show the applicability of the nonlinear analysis to the post-buckling and large deformation of fibre-reinforced plastic poles.

  • Steel pallet racking industry has globally used from the industrial revolution and has deeply evolved from hot-rolled profile into cold-formed profile to raise the optimization in engineering field. Nowadays, some studies regarding cold-formed steel profile have been performed, but fewer studies in terms of cold-formed pallet racking specifically in connection due to the semi-rigid behavior by lug-hooked into the upright have been conducted. The objective of this study is to review the related literature on steel storage racking connection behavior.

  • With the 4th industrial revolution, many advanced information technologies are being applied to the area of construction engineering and project management. These applications are usually focusing on design, construction and operation stage and are producing many meaningful fruits. Even though these studies are very important for the development of the construction industry, this study insists that the other stage perspective such as construction business also should be emphasized. Because business phase has significant impacts on the success of a construction project as well as design, construction and operation phase. So, this study reviewed the intelligent-approach papers in planning and marketing, estimation and bid, contract and claim, and project financing fields. This study provides some insights such as values, difficulties, limitations and future directions of business intelligence application.

  • Today's Fourth Industrial Revolution is now showing a huge trend that cannot be rejected or ignored. Historically, the Industrial Revolution has always had a significant impact on the function and form of cities, so it is very necessary for modern Christianity to establish the right cultural perspective in urban settings and seek ways to contribute socially in the public domain. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to find the right role of Christianity in new urban spaces and structures based on the following three questions. First, what is a sustainable 'good' city in a new era? What are the principles and conditions of the 'good' city? Second, what is the relationship between the city and Christianity? Third, what role should Christianity in the city play for co-prosperity and community? In response to the third question, the study presented the following applications: First, it is necessary to restore and practice Christian civic culture. Second, Christianity should also take the lead in restoring morality in the market economy. Third, it is necessary to implement Christian values beyond caring and charity. Fourth, the church needs a role and cooperation as a civil society that restores humanity and faith.

  • In recent years, the demand for green buildings is growing fast due to legislative and social pressures. Construction organizations, which play an important role in promoting building industry growth, are facing with challenges on how to adapt themselves to enhance sustainability of the buildings. In this paper, the green value chain and system frameworks, an extend application of Porter's value chain and system models, are introduced. Based on deep analysis of the green value chain and system frameworks, a revolution model for construction organizations towards green building is created. Management factors critical for a successful green building project, at the firm and project organization level, are extracted. Furthermore, external critical relationships are also identified. Fully understanding of these management factors and the model can help and enable practitioner to know what new capabilities should be deployed and developed in the long run for maximizing sustainability.

  • Hydrometeorological variables contain highly complex system for temporal revolution and it is quite challenging to illustrate the system with a temporal linear and nonlinear models. In recent years, deep learning algorithms have been developed and a number of studies has focused to model the complex hydrometeorological system with deep learning models. In the current study, we investigated the temporal structure inside deep learning models for the hydrometeorological variables such as streamflow and climate indices. The results present a quite striking such that each hidden unit of the deep learning model presents different dependence structure and when the number of hidden units meet a proper boundary, it reaches the best model performance. This indicates that the deep dependence structure of deep learning models can be used to model selection or investigating whether the constructed model setup present efficient or not.
