  • In recent years, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) were actively developed in various fields. In development process of UAVs, flight test is performed to ensure that minimum safety requirements and technical requirements are met. By constructing flight test infrastructure such as takeoff and landing facilities, operation procedure, and equipments, flight test can be performed effectively. In this paper, operation procedures of civil UAV's flight test are proposed. The procedures proposed are composed by two main steps: first, planning and permitting procedure of flight test. Secondly, execution and control procedure of flight test.

  • Groundwater contamination susceptibility studies have many advantages in groundwater monitoring, management and future planning. Several methods have been developed and applied to the groundwater regime through out the world. However, each and every method has some limitations. In this study, a detailed review was carried out about the already existing methods for groundwater contamination susceptibility studies. Additionally, a new parameter called mineral dissolution factor is recommended for groundwater contamination susceptibility studies. This parameter is applied for groundwate contamination susceptibility studies in Namwon area, Korea. The result of this approach suggests that mineral dissolution parameter could overcome the limitations as observed in the earlier methods.

  • Traffic noise estimation models are useful in evaluation of the noise pollution in current circumstances. They are helpful tools for design and planning new roads and highways. Measurement of average traffic noise level is possible when traffic speed and volume are known. The objective of this study was to devise a model for prediction of highway traffic noise levels based on current traffic variables in Iran. The design of this model was to take the impact of traffic congestion into consideration and to be field tested. This study is a library research augmented by field study conducted on Saeedi Highway located south west of Tehran. The period for the field study lasted 5 days from 7-12 February, 2013. This study examined liner and non-liner methods in formulation of its model. Liner method without a fixed coefficient was the best fit for the intended model. The proposed model can serve as a decision making tool to estimate the impact of key influential factors on sound pressure levels in urban areas in Iran.

  • There are some modifications in the usage purpose of historical structures due to varying needs and changing conditions. However, those modifications can damage the structural system and the system stability. This study focuses on the investigation of the functional effects and usage modifications on the system stability. In this study, three different finite element models of the Hayati $Teknecio\breve{g}lu$ Mansion in Turkey are developed and the seismic responses of the models are investigated. Results of the analyses show that usage modifications might be considered as risky in terms of creating problems for seismic performance.

  • This study developed the methodology to calculate the total daily maximum load (TMDL) using the instreamflow requirement because the previous TMDLs were too simple to easily achieve. Instreamflow requirement which was the average low flow ($Q_{275}$) in the previous planning cannot consider the seasonal variation of streamflow. Therefore, this study used the instreamflow requirement which is a maximum value among hydrologic drought flow ($Q_{355}$), and environmental flows for ecology and scenery. The environmental flows for ecology were calculated using Physical HABitat SIMulation system (PHABSIM) which can estimate the necessary flow for fish survival by life cycle. Using the proposed method, all monthly TMDLs of streams in the Anyangcheon were calculated for the application.

  • Although PERT/CPM has been used for over twenty years as a technique for scheduling in a variety of industries and various extention to the basic model have been improved the realism of considering resource constraints, none of these techniqueis have integrated resource acquistion load times and inventory records into scheduling technique. This paper is to designed to over-come basic shortcoming of previous CPM into incorperate with MRP technique.

  • The paper explores the potential of applicability of Genetic programming approach (GP), adopted in this investigation, to model the combined effects of five independent variables to predict the mini-slump, the plate cohesion meter, the induced bleeding test, the J-fiber penetration value, and the compressive strength at 7 and 28 days of self-compacting slurry infiltrated fiber concrete (SIFCON). The variables investigated were the proportions of limestone powder (LSP) and sand, the dosage rates of superplasticiser (SP) and viscosity modifying agent (VMA), and water-to-binder ratio (W/B). Twenty eight mixtures were made with 10-50% LSP as replacement of cement, 0.02-0.06% VMA by mass of cement, 0.6-1.2% SP and 50-150% sand (% mass of binder) and 0.42-0.48 W/B. The proposed genetic models of the self-compacting SIFCON offer useful modelling approach regarding the mix optimisation in predicting the fluidity, the cohesion, the bleeding, the penetration, and the compressive strength.

  • A reliability approach to evaluate structural performance has gained increased acceptability and usage over the past two decades. Most reliability analyses are based on the reliability of an individual component without examining the entire structural system. These analyses often result in either unnecessary repairs or unsafe structures. This study uses examples of series, parallel, and series-parallel models of structural systems to illustrate how the component reliabilities affect the reliability of the entire system. The component-system reliability interaction can be used to develop optimum lifetime inspection and repair strategies for structural systems. These examples demonstrate that such strategies must be based on the reliability of the entire structural system. They also demonstrate that the location of an individual component in the system has a profound effect on the acceptable reliability of that component. Furthermore, when a structure is deteriorating over time, the reliability importance of various components is a1so changing with time. For this reason, the most critical component in the early life of the structure may not tie the most critical later.

  • On account of the increase in water demand and climate change, droughts are in great concern for water resources planning and management. In this study, rainfall characteristics with stationary and non-stationary perspectives were analyzed using Weibull distribution model with 40-year records of annual minimum rainfall depth collected in major cities of Korea. As a result, the non-stationary minimum probable rainfall was expected to decrease, compared with the stationary probable rainfall. The reliability of ${\xi}_1$, a variable reflecting the decrease of the minimum rainfall depth due to climate change, in Wonju, Daegu, and Busan was over 90%, indicating the probability that the minimal rainfall depths in those city decrease is high.

  • The calculation of earthwork plays a major role in the planning and design phases of many civil engineering projects, such as seashore reclamation; thus, improving the accuracy of earthwork calculation has become very important. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for finding a cubic spline surface with the free boundary conditions, which interpolates the given three-dimensional data, by using B-spline and an accurate method to estimate pit-excavation volume. The proposed method should be of interest to surveyors, especially those concerned with accuracy of volume computations. The mathematical models of the conventional methods have a common drawback: the modeling curves form peak points at the joints. To avoid this drawback, the cubic spline polynomial is chosen as the mathematical model of the new method. In this paper, we propose an algorithm of finding a spline surface, which interpolates the given data, and an appropriate method to calculate the earthwork. We present some computational results that show the proposed method, of the Maple program, provides better accuracy than the method presented by Chen and Lin.
