노인의 연령, 체중, 신장과 안정성한계의 상관관계 (The Relationship between age, height, weight and Limit of Stability on the Elderly)

  • This study was conducted to examine the relationship between limit of stability and age, height and weight. 83 healthy elderly(male 40, female 43) were measured the limit of stability and demographic characteristics. The results were as follows. 1. Left-right limit of stability was correlated with age in the elderly. 2. Left-right limit of stability was not correlated with the height, weight in the elderly. 3. Anterior-posterior limit of stability was correlated with age. height and weight in the elderly. So it is recommended that high risk groups - more aged people. of elderly should be offered the exercise program for increasing the limit of stability and well-designed studies of proper exercise program for musculoskeletal function and muscle power elevation should be performed.

충주(忠州)댐 우안(右岸) 산사태(山沙汰)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study for Landslides of Chungju Dam Right Abutment)

  • Analysis for landslides was studied in framework of Chungju dam right abutment, 6.5km northeast of Chungju city. $5.5{\times}10^6m^3$ landslide materials were excavated during dam construction for safety of the Chungju dam. Geology of study area is composed mainly of meta sediments such as dolomitic limestone, quartzite and schist which are dipping toward the Nam Han river. Scanline survey of discontinuities was performed for slope stability, resistivity exploration was performed for the evaluation of potential failure plane, and direct shear strength test of rocks and soils was performed for the effect on landslide. Monitoring systems of tiltmeter, tensiometer, ground water observation hole and level monument were installed during dam construction and interpreted for the evaluation of slope instability. Kinematic solution of the geological structure and evaluation using safety factor for slope may prove the failure of the slope.

검도 머리치기 유형에 따른 상지의 근전도 비교 분석 (Study of the forearm EMG activities during Kumdo head striking)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the EMG activities of four-forearm muscles during Kumdo head striking. The four skilled and unskilled Kumdo club members were selected from D university in B city. Investigated muscles were left brachioradialis, right brachioradialis and left flexor carpi radialis, right flexor carpi radialis. Raw EMG data were collected during the head striking motions and the average EMG were calculated by the frame width of 0.05s, and then the average %MVC were calculated. The average %MVC values of each muscle in each group were compared. The results are as follows. 1) In each group, there were no significant statistical differences between every muscle over the all phases. 2) There were significant differences, however, between skilled group and unskilled group. The former got higher average %MVC at left flexor carpi radialis and the latter at right brachioradialis in the ready phase and in the impact phase.

한우 송아지의 반전성열체 (Schistosomus reflexus in Korean native calf)

  • A case of schistosomus reflexes in Korean native female calf was observed macroscopically and radiographically. The results were summarized as follows. 1. The abdominal visceral organs were exposed. 2. The vertebral column bent laterally to the left, and the sacrum approached to the cranium by reflected caudal lumber vertebrae, presenting S-shaped lateral twisting of the vertebrae. 3. The right ribs reflected laterally and dorso-cranially from the 7th rib to 13th rib. The left ribs bent caudally from 8th rib to 13th rib. 4. The length of rudimentary 6th right rib was one half of normal size and the 7th right rib was one third. 5. The sternum was bifid split from the fourth sternebra through the xyphoid cartilage. 6. The diaphragm was intact and thoracic cavity was reduced in size. The lung and heart severely deformed in shape and size. 7. The liver markedly deformed in shape and thickness. 8. The pelvic cavity was reduced in size by compression laterally to the left. 9. The uterus horn, ovary, urinary bladder, and urethra were severely deformed in the shape and position.

디지털 운행기록에 근거한 시내버스 운전자의 사고발생 예측모형 개발 (Development for City Bus Dirver's Accident Occurrence Prediction Model Based on Digital Tachometer Records)

  • 본 연구는 시내버스 운전자의 실제 운행기록 정보를 토대로 사고발생 가능성을 내포한 운전자를 판단할 수 있는 모형개발을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 사고발생 운전자 및 사고 미발생 운전자의 실제 운행기록 정보에서 교통사고와 관련한 유의변수를 도출하는 한편, 판별분석(Discriminant Analysis) 및 로지스틱회귀분석(Logistic Regression Analysis)을 적용하여 개발된 분류모형에 대한 모형간 정확도를 비교하였다. 또한, 개발된 모형을 다른 운전자들의 운행기록자료에 적용하여 모형의 정확도를 검증하였다. 사고발생 가능성을 내포한 운전자 분류모형을 개발한 결과 감속도($X_{deceleration}$) 및 우측방향 가속도($Y_{right}$)가 동시에 작용할 때 이 변수가 사고발생 운전자 분류의 최적 요인변수로 도출되었으며, 판별분석에 의한 예측모형은 최대 62.8%, 로지스틱회귀분석에 의한 예측모형은 최대 76.7%의 비율로 사고 발생 운전자 분류가 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 모형 예측력에 대한 검증결과 84.1%의 적중률을 보이는 것으로 나타났다.

Traffic management for large-scale evacuation with public transportation and calculation of appropriate operating ratio

  • In 2013, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) changed the recommended maximum range of the Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) to 30 km, and the Kori Nuclear Power Plant in Republic of Korea has also expanded the EPZ to 30 km, following the recommendation. As a result, metropolitan cities with a high population density are contained within the EPZ, and evacuating millions of people should be considered if the 30 km range of evacuation is to take place. This study proposes an evacuation plan using buses (public transportation) to transport people outside of the EPZ, quickly and efficiently. To verify the appropriate mode share ratio of buses that can guarantee the right of vulnerable road users and reduce traffic congestion, a model was built simulating the Kori Nuclear Power Plant in Ulsan Metropolitan City. The scenarios were established by changing the mode share ratio of buses and passenger cars by 10%. Considering a large-scale network analysis at the city level, a cell transmission model was applied to calculate the evacuation time in each scenario. The result shows that the optimal mode share ratio of buses is 40%, with a total evacuation time of 132 min, considering feasible bus fleets in Ulsan Metropolitan City.

  • 도시개념의 변화로 현대 도시는 물리적 공간이라는 구조적인 개념에서 탈피하여 이윤창출을 위한 경영의 시각으로 바라보게 되었다. 우리나라의 경우 이미 도시화는 80%수준을 넘어 도시화 사회에 진입하였으며, 세계화 및 개방화에 따라 아이덴티티의 형성이 도시경쟁력을 높이기 위한 수단으로 제시되고 있다. 서울은 기능과 시설의 측면에서는 이미 선진국의 수준에 들어섰지만 문화경쟁력과 도시관광 매력물, 서비스시스템의 부족으로 인하여 도시이미지가 낮게 평가되고 있다. 특히 도시를 간접적으로 상징하는 공공시설로서 대중교통은 이용율과 의존도는 매우 높지만 안내서비스 및 시각시스템에 있어서 운영 관리가 부족하며 차별화 된 이미지와 로열티를 발견하기 어렵다. 2004년 서울시에서는 개편안을 제시했지만 영국의 런던, 프랑스의 파리, 일본의 도쿄 등과 같은 세계의 대표적인 도시들에 비해 일관된 시스템과 디자인 사용환경 규제 및 관리의 부족, 과다한 시각정보 및 연계성 파괴 등이 지적되고 있다. 따라서 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 무질서한 시각물에 개성과 사용규정을 적용하여 아이덴티티를 창출하기 위한 디자인 시스템의 도입이 필요한 시점이다. 이러한 과정은 도시아이덴티티 전략(City Identity CIP)으로 설명될 수 있으며, 본 연구에서는 대중교통 디자인 시스템을 통해 도시이미지를 구체화하고자 한다. 이를 위한 연구방법으로 (1)런던, 파리, 도쿄의 대중교통 디자인 시스템 현황을 조사하여 서울의 현황과 비교 분석하였고, 이를 토대로 (2)현재 사용되고 있는 대중교통수단별 심볼마크의 시스템화, 아이덴티티 형성을 위한 디자인매뉴얼(Guidelines)의 개발, 수단 및 매체별 디자인의 연계와 시스템화 전략을 제안하였다

Are Flywheels Right for Rail?

  • Vehicle braking in non-electrified rail systems wastes energy. Advanced flywheel technology presents a way to capture and reuse this braking energy to improve vehicle efficiency and so reduce the operating costs and environmental impact of diesel trains. This paper highlights the suitability of flywheels for rail vehicle applications, and proposes a novel mechanical transmission system to apply regenerative braking using a flywheel energy storage device. A computational model is used to illustrate the operation and potential benefits of the energy storage system.
