The purpose of this paper is to establish three themes of regional instruction based on new regional geography and to examine explanation of space, understanding of place and judgement of environmental values for the Jinju regional instruction. Under the premise that region is the representation of space, place, and environmental perception, we reviewed location and space, event and place, development and environmental values in Jinju area. The results of the study are as follows: Owing to locational conditions, commercial agriculture, industrial and agroindustrial park, bio industry have been developed in Jinju. There are however some tasks that have to be solved such as rural investment, industrial park relocation and economic reconstruction. The Jinju castle combat, Farmers' resistance in 1862, Human right campaign for butchers in 1923, and educational conflict all occurred in the Jinju community. These events resulted in the integration and separation of the stratified citizens. They were represented as a variety of semiotics and landscape in the place. Citizens who live in Jinju are confronted with judging the environmental values. They ask whether inviting companies to town will ensure environmentally sound and sustainable development. The regional characteristics of knowledge, culture and environment in Jinju have been reproduced through the economic activity, place understanding, place marketing, and citizens' campaign.
Motorcycle patrol is used for traffic control and enforcement in highly congested areas. One of the major problems with this form of patrol is that it is extremely dangerous since just about any type of accident tends to cause harm to the rider. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of police motorcycle patrol, and to suggest the methods for improving the effectiveness of police motorcycle patrol. This study conducts the survey on 139 policemen that belong to Daejeon Provincial Police Agency that had implemented motorcycle patrol. By factor analysis, the intimacy between policemen and citizens, the excellence of patrol devices, the speed of response, and the appropriacy of patrol method are grouped as the independent variables. And the dependent variable is the effectiveness of police motorcycle patrol. The results of this study demonstrates that the effectiveness of police motorcycle patrol is affected statistically by the speed of response, the appropriacy of patrol, and the intimacy between policemen and citizens. But, the intimacy between policemen and citizens affected the effectiveness negatively. Therefore, police department must make the effort for increasing the speed of response and enhancing the appropriacy of patrol. Also, police department must make patrolmen sincerely conscious of the value of police-community relation.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the attitudes and perception of Yeosu citizen towards cultural arts and city policy of Yeosu for establishing the culture city. The results of the study shows that first, the citizens of Yeosu is dissatisfied with the local culture and arts. It is necessary to provide a variety of cultural arts space, and the facility for the citizen. Second, the citizens are dissatisfied with their culture and arts policy and administration. For successful promotion of urban cultural art as well as the for successful hosting of the 2012 Yeosu World Expo, the policy to participate of local people in the culture and arts administration should proceed. Third, as the policy of culture and arts city of Yeosu, the established facilities for the World Expo 2012 should be transformed and be leased out for small-scale of local arts and cultural events. Finally, the study shows that opportunities for artistic creation and cultural activities should be available to local artists and the opportunity to participate for the arts is necessary to expand for Yeosu citizens.

Camp Page, which has been located in front of Chuncheon Station for about 50 years since 1958, recently opened to the public. Chuncheon City is currently struggling to construct a park on this site due to an uncertainty of general plans and financial difficulties. Accordingly, this research conducted a cognitive survey about site usage with Camp Page users in order to clarify directions for efficient establishment of parks within the former military base. The course of research includes analytical methods such as a survey targeting Chuncheon citizens and tourists both in the field and online, a frequency analysis of 1,360 index samples, a cross analysis and t-test. As a result, firstly, Chuncheon citizens recognized the image of Chuncheon as a city with a fresh, clean lakeshore whereas tourists think of it as a city for sightseeing and leisure. Hence, it was justifiable to conclude that the city should organize various programs for people to enjoy leisure activities while at the same time protecting the environment. Second, the awareness of tourists about Camp Page was relatively low and both citizens and tourists recognize that it was not sufficient enough for enjoyment of free time. The majority answered "space for culture and art and for experiencing the natural environment" when asked about the direction of space creation at Camp Page, which indicates that the site will need to be available both for cultural art and nature experiences. Lastly, it was thought that the direction of developing leisure facilities in Chuncheon city should include the improvement of worn out installations and developing chain products among programs. This research will be able to use fundamental data for the efficient utilization of the returned U.S. military camps that are constantly merging.
The guarantee of citizens' safety from crime is the reason for a nation's existence according to the social contract, and it is also a salient task in securing the citizens' right to the pursuit of happiness, which is a constitutional right expressing the nation's duty to its citizens. First, a procedure must be made mandatory that corresponds to the Miranda rule applied during the arrest of criminal suspect, which verifies whether there exists a risk of retaliatory crime to the victim of crime, crime reporter, or witness following their report of a crime or testimony. A measure to punish those who violate this should be devised. The second is the improvement of related laws and systems, such as expanding the scope of persons subject to protection from retaliatory crimes under the current law and strengthening information protection. Third, a retaliatory crime risk evaluation index must be developed, and the evaluation results must be quantified to clearly state measures and responsibilities, in detail, for personal safety at each level of intensity. The fourth is the expanded implementation of proactive personal safety measures for victims of crime and witnesses, as well as the development and application of advanced techniques. The last is a change in the perception s of those working for the judicial body. From the initial investigation stage of the crime to the diagnosis regarding the possibility of retaliation perpetrated on an ex-convict through psychological tests, systems of general cooperation, and mutual assistance must be established.
In Korea, abortion in the Criminal Law is an illegal act in exception of limited cases stated in the Mother and the Child Health Law. There are grounds on which abortion may be carried out - though the grounds are very limited and related such as emergency situation of woman's physical health, rape, incest and genetic diseases. The Criminal Law regulates the mother's act of abortion and the doctor's surgical performance of abortion. The Mother and the Child Health Law prescribes the medical, ethical, and genetic grounds for the legal permission of abortion. Many people tend to abuse of abortion even though they are fully aware of its illegality. The law lead to be inconsistent with its enforcement. In this paper, I would like to suggest some proposals about the legal analysis of the Abortion Regulations to reform the existing regulations and increase the effectiveness of the regulations. A national survey was carried out using telephone interview with Korean citizens from August 1th to August 31th in 2005. A total of 1,025 citizens (male: female = 49.2%:50.8%) were randomly sampled in proportion to the number of population of 17 regions. The major findings of this survey were as follows. First, 91.4% of the respondents approved of abortion based on the medical grounds. Second 83.3% of the respondents perceived that abortion may be carried out based on ethical grounds for example rape. Third, 74.3% were agreed to abortion based on genetic diseases. Forth, 64.7% were approved the abortion that unmarried woman may be carried out. In contrast 45.0% were approved the abortion that girls may be carried out, whereas 46.4% were perceived that the abortion may not be permitted. Fifth, 58.3% were disagreed the permission of abortion based on social and economic grounds. According to the survey Korean citizens seem to have positive perception on the abortion that may be carried out based on medical, ethical and genetic grounds. Whereas they worried about the abortion based on social and economic grounds. Now the Mother and the Child Health Law prescribes the medical, ethical, and genetic grounds for the legal permission of abortion. But this law does not include social and economic grounds. In cases of when the mother has a impossibility to breed her child because of her social situations and financial conditions, we should accepted the legal acceptance of abortion due to social and economic grounds.
This study aimed to investigate the effects of multicultural complexes on activating local culture. Prior studies that discuss activating local culture through multicultural complexes focus on literature reviews or quantitative research methods, which do not incorporate the detailed and practical opinions of the users of the location. Therefore, this study collected detailed information through in-depth interviews with users, and investigated the future development methods of multicultural complexes based on the obtained information. It focused on the Asia Culture Center (ACC) in Gwangju, which is considered a prime example of a multicultural complex, and conducted in-depth interviews with citizens who have lived in Gwangju for at least five years as well as visited the ACC to investigate the research question from a detailed perspective. The results revealed that although the citizens of Gwangju have a positive perception of the functions of ACC as a cultural space representing the city that activates the local culture, they perceive it as partially insufficient to be considered a multicultural complex. Major findings included the following: the contents of the ACC do not have a mass appeal, its inflexible hours of operation inconvenience visitors, and the contents available for visitors lack in quantity and quality. Therefore, in order for the ACC to appeal as a successful multicultural complex, it is necessary to cooperate with the members of the community to investigate their needs with respect to the contents and location, and prepare strategic plans to satisfy those needs.
Sustainability has been a big issue over the whole global industry lately and is an important fashion trend that reflects the modern phase of the time. The concept of sustainable fashion includes physical fashion products made from eco-friendly or recycle materials as well as ethical value such as corporate social responsibility for environment, labor or working condition. Fashion companies of advanced countries who are aware of the geo-environmental and ethical issues found that generating profits by setting trends and pursuing external beauty can no longer be the ultimate goal of fashion companies, and started to recognize the importance of sustainable fashion as a future-oriented trend. Not only fashion industry but also governments of advanced countries have been playing a leading role to educate the people regarding the importance of sustainable fashion and making large investments to foster industry specialists in educational institution. The aim of this study is to propose sustainable fashion design education program that fits the domestic university curriculum and government-leading education program in order to set the foundation for sustainable fashion industry. Thus, this study investigates successful cases of foreign government-led sustainable fashion education that can be introduced to improve domestic sustainable fashion education. The empirical study of the research is developing 12-15 week university level education program to foster specialists in sustainable fashion. The survey carried out by the students who participated in the program shows the change of perception on sustainable fashion. Developed university level program can be spread to municipal corporation, school of continuing education, and etc. in order to derive participation and problem perception of the citizens on sustainability. Developing systemized sustainable fashion design education program would be the first step of sustainable fashion by educating students who will take the leading role in the future fashion industry. Moreover, it can strongly influence future customer education as well as a special education inducing interest on sustainability in everyday life. A follow-up study is expected to serve as a foundation for sustainable fashion to take root successfully in the fashion industry.

Objectives : This study was conducted to examine the mediating function of body weight perception (BWP) on the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and unhealthy weight control behaviors (UWCB: e.g., fasting, or taking diet pills or laxatives) and between BMI and depressed mood, and to explore the effect of distorted BWP on UWCB and depressed mood among adult women. Methods : A regionally representative sample of 8,581 women aged 20-64 years residing in Seoul, the capital of Korea, completed the 2001 Seoul Citizens Health Indicator Survey which provides self-reported information about height, weight, BWP, UWCB, depressed mood, demo graphic/socioeconomic characteristics, and health-related behaviors. Data were analyzed using bivariate and multivariate logistic regression. Results : BMI was significantly associated both with UWCB and depressed mood, even controlling for all covariates. However, the magnitude and significance of each association was considerably attenuated when BWP was taken into account, indicating that BWP functioned, in part, as a mediator between BMI and UWCB and between BMI and depressed mood, respectively. Among the combinations of BMI and BWP, women who perceived themselves to be heavier than their actual BMls appeared more likely to use UWCB, whereas women who had a distorted BWP, either underestimation or overestimation as compared with their BMIs, tended to be at greater risk for depressed mood than those who had an undistorted BWP. Conclusions : These findings suggest that how women perceive their body weight may be an important predictor and/or mediator of UWCB and depressed mood among adult Korean women.

The basic identity of the National Library of Korea(Sejong), opened in December 2013, is the specialized library focused on policy information service. Nevertheless, the library is not unfaithful to its identity. So researchers surveyed and analyzed the perception of the basic identity and role, utilization and satisfaction degress of various services, need and use for policy information and policy information service, and strategic and focused initiatives from stakeholders such as public officials, government-supported researchers, citizens living in Sejong city, and employees who work in the NLK(S). As a result, researchers suggested various strategies to expand the organizational size, to strengthen acquisition of domestic and foreign policy information, and to enhance national policy information service for related groups' satisfaction and dependence of policy information service for the NLK(S).
