Core-loss Reduction on Permanent Magnet for IPMSM with Concentrated Winding (집중권을 시행한 영구자석 매입형 동기전동기의 철손 저감)

  • Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous motors (IPMSM) with concentrated winding are superior to distributed winding in the power density point of view. But it causes huge amount of eddy current losses on the permanent magnet. This paper presents the optimal permanent magnet V-shape on the rotor of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor to reduce the core losses and improve the performance. Each eddy current loss on permanent magnet has been investigated in detail by using FEM (Finite Element Method) instead of equivalent magnetic circuit network method in order to consider saturation and non-linear magnetic property. Simulation-based design of experiment is also applied to avoid large number of analyses according to each design parameter and consider expected interactions among parameters. Consequently, the optimal design to reduce the core loss on the permanent magnet while maintaining or improving motor performance is proposed by an optimization algorithm using regression equation derived and lastly, it is verified by FEM.

Design of High Speed Dynamic Latch Comparator with Reduced Offset using Initialization Switch (초기화 스위치를 이용해 오프셋을 감소시킨 고속 다이나믹 래치 비교기 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient technique to minimize the input offset of a dynamic latch comparator. We analyzed offset due to charge injection mismatching and unwanted positive feedback during sampling phase. The last one was only considered in the previous works. Based on the analysis, we proposed a modified dynamic latch with initialization switch. The proposed circuit was simulated using 0.65${\mu}m$ CMOS process parameter with 5v supply. The simulation results showed that the input offset is less than 5mV ant 200MHz sampling frequency and the input offset is improved about 80% compared with previous work in $5k{\Omega}$ input resistance.

  • PCB design technology for high-speed transmission line has been developed continuously. Adapting to the high capacity of the communication system, switch fabric interface used for backplane is being standardized to accommodate more than 10Gbps serial interface. In this paper, various computer simulations are performed to compare the performance of each transmission line per length according to PCB material, and also to analyze the effect from via stub length and crosstalk, for the purpose of applying 11.5Gbps serial interface as a switch fabric interface in tera-bit switching system. As a result of the simulation, important design issues, such as PCB material of each board supporting 8dB improvement in transmission loss using low loss PCB, maximum available stub length on transmission line via, whether or not to apply the backdrill process to the via, and the clearance of the differential pair between transmission lines, are determined. The most efficient system architecture which could be applied 11.5Gbps serial interface in all switch fabric interfaces is defined from the simulation results.

Analysis of Electrical Characteristics of Interdigital Capacitor with Graphenes (그래핀이 결합된 인터디지털 커패시터의 전기적 특성분석)

  • In this paper, the electrical characteristics of interdigital capacitor with single-layer and multi-layer graphene were compared and analyzed in the microwave region. In equivalent circuit, a capacitor coupled with graphene showed the clear difference in electrical components such as resistance, inductance, and capacitance. In particular, for the capacitor with single-layer graphene, additional inductance and resistance occurred and the electrode resistance was also increased. Meanwhile, the self-resonance frequency of capacitor was shifted toward lower frequency region and its transmitted characteristic was considerably improved at frequency ranging from 0.4 to 4 GHz. The electrical characteristics of the capacitor with multi-layer graphene were somewhat different than the bare capacitor. In conclusion, we could confirm that single-layer graphene greatly influenced the electrical characteristics and performances of interdigital capacitor compared to multi-layer graphene.

  • This paper proposes a Push type High Frequency DC-DC Converter using Zero Voltage Switching to reduce turn on and off loss at the switching instants. This paper has a advantage which is able to operating safely in load short, because DC reactor is connected with resonance reactor in order to supply a fixed safely in load short, because DC reactor is connected with resonance reactor in order to supply a fixed current with low ripple from DC power supply. The capacitor $(C_1, C_2)$ connected in switch are a common using as resonance capacitor and ZVS capacitor. The analysis of the proposed high frequency resonance DC-DC converter is generally described by using normallized parameter, and we has evaluated characteristic values which is needed to design a circuit. We conform a rightfulness of theoritical analysis by comparing a theoretical values and experimental values obtained from experiment using MOSFET as switching devices.

  • In this paper, we propose and demonstrate an optimal design of wideband pulsed gamma-ray detectors. Pulsed gamma-ray detectors are designed to operate in a dose rate of $1{\times}10^6{\sim}1{\times}10^8rad(Si)/s$. The input parameter was derived based on the energy ratio of pulse gamma-ray spectrum and the time of the energy. The sensor output current was calculated based on the dose rate control circuit. Using the N-type Epi Wafer, the optimum condition detection sensor was designed based on TCAD. The simulation results show that the optimal Epi layer thickness is 45um when applied voltage 3.3V. The doping concentrations are as follows : N-type is an Arsenic as $1{\times}10^{19}/cm^3$, P-type is a Boron as $1{\times}10^{19}/cm^3$ and Epi layer is Phosphorus as $3.4{\times}10^{12}/cm^3$. Pulse gamma-ray detector diameter is the 1.3mm.

  • This paper describes the DC-DC Converter for Ancillary Power Supply in Hybrid Electric Vehicle. DC-DC Converter is used for charging 12V auxiliary battery supplying electric power to head ramp, audio, ECU etc in automobiles. used DC-DC Converter Topology is PS-ZVS FB(Phase Shifted Zero Voltage Switching Full-Bridge) to reduce switching loss and EMI noise induced by high frequency operating condition. And For easy compensation and stable system response characteristic, current mode control method including slope compensation is employed. Constant current / constant voltage charging control method guarantee stable electric charging of auxiliary battery. Simulation toll PSIM6.0 is used for initial circuit parameter settings and H/W debuging. Thermal problems of Switching components in DC-DC Converter is improved by using Thermo Tracer.

  • In this thesis, the characteristics of an inverted-F antenna for the 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz zwirless local area network(WLAN) have been analysed in terms of the variation of design parameters. The antenna can be integrated on WLAN for notebook printed circuit board, and the characteristics in terms of the variation of the gap between feed line and shorting stub, gap between antenna's leg and ground plane, antenna leg's width, substrate's height and dielectric constant are analysed. By using these characterization plot of design parameter, the tuning techniques are proposed to design optimum antenna. The designed antenna has 170MHz, 500MHz frequency bandwidth ,VSWR is 1.6, 1.14 and 3.5dBi gain.

  • This paper describes the time sharing type high frequency resonant inviter can be used as power of induction heating. This closed inverter can be obtained output frequency three times than switching frequency by composing three unit inviter of conventional Half-Bridge serial resonant inverter in parallel with input power source also, this reduce switching loss because it has ZVS function. The analysis of the proposed circuit is generally described by using the normailized proposed parameters. The principle of basic operating and the its charasteristics are extimated by the parameters such as switching frequency($\mu$), the variation of Phase angle($\phi$) of Phase-shift. Experimental results are presented to verify theoretical discussion. This preposed inverter will be able to be prastically used as a power supply in various fields as induction, heating application, DC-DC converter etc.

  • This study designed and manufactured "a DVOR virtual signal generator" to make the monitoring system of preliminary Doppler VHF Omni-directional Radio Range(DVOR) run like its real operation status in a narrow space in order to study "a DVOR virtual monitoring system". The designed and manufactured DVOR virtual signal generator is suitable for the specification of signal that is generated in the currently running equipment. In addition, it is possible to control operation conditions of equipment by using parameter variables, and the circuit construction is largely divided into the input part, the modulation part, the high-gain amplifier, and the power part. "The DVOR virtual monitoring system using the virtual signal designed and implemented in this study is very suitable to be used for low-cost actual education as it can construct the operation status like the real situation in a narrow space without using an actual system like an antenna generating side band.
