  • EC(Electronic Commerce) which is done on the virtual space through Internet has strong point like independence from time and space. On the contrary, it also has weak point like security problem because anybody can access easily to the system due to open network attribute of Internet, Therefore, we need the solutions that protect the EC security problem for safe and useful EC activity. One of these solutions is the implementation of strong cipher system. YK2(Young Ku King) cipher system proposed in this paper is good solution for the EC security and it overcome the limit of current block cipher system using 128 bits key length for input, output, encryption key and 32 rounds. Moreover, it is designed for the increase of time complexity by adapting more complex design for key scheduling algorithm regarded as one of important element effected to encryption.

  • The world was opened by communication network because of fast improvement and diffusion of information communication. And information was effected in important factor that control economy improvement of the country. The country should improve the information security system because of necessity to maintain its information security independently. Therefore we have used the SEED cipher algorithm and designed the cipher chip of the voice band signal using the Xilinx Co. XCV300PQ240 chip. At the result we designed the voice signal cipher chip of the maximum frequency 47.895MHz and the total equivalent gate 27,285.

  • The statistical testing methods have been widely recognized to determine the plain and cipher texts. In fact, the randomness for a sequence from an encryption algorithm is necessary to guarantee security and reliance of cipher algorithm. Thus, the statistical randomness tests are used to discover cipher text. In this paper, we would provide the critical value for an approximate entropy test by estimating the nonlinear regression equation when the number of sequence and the level of significance are given. Thus, we can discern plan and cipher text for real problem with given number of sequence and the level of significance. Also, we confirm the fitness of the estimated critical values from the rate of success for plain or cipher text.

  • In this paper, we proposed fast stream cipher MS64 for use mobile that it is secure, fast, and easy to implement software. The proposed algorithm use the fast operating 213-bit arithmetic shift register(ASR) to generate a binary sequence and produce 64-bit stream cipher by using simple logical operation in non linear transform. MS64 supports 128-bit key in encryption algorithm and satisfy with the safety requirement in modern encryption algorithm. In simulation result shows that MS64 is faster than a 32-bit stream cipher SSC2 in the speed of operation with small usage of memory thus MS64 can be used for mobile devices with fast ciphering.

  • This paper describes a design of area-efficient/low-power cryptographic processor for lightweight block cipher algorithm HIGHT which was approved as a cryptographic standard by KATS and ISO/IEC. The HIGHT algorithm which is suitable for the security of IoT(Internet of Things), encrypts a 64-bit plain text with a 128-bit cipher key to make a 64-bit cipher text, and vice versa. For area-efficient and low-power implementation, we adopt 32-bit data path and optimize round transform block and key scheduler to share hardware resources for encryption and decryption.

  • In this paper, we introduce cellular automata and propose a new block cipher algorithm based on cellular automata. For the evaluation of performance and security, we compare the results of the proposed algorithm with them of the standard block ciphers such as DES, Rijndael regarding on avalanche effects and processing time, and analyze the differential cryptanalysis for a reduction version of the proposed algorithm. In addition, we perform the statistical tests in FIPS PUB 140-2(Federal Information Processing Standards Publication 140-2) for the output bit sequences of proposed algorithm to guarantee the randomness property.

  • Dragon Stream Cipher is proposed for software base implementation in the eSTREAM project. Now this stream cipher is selected as a phase 3 focus candidate. Dragon is a new stream cipher contructed using a single word based NIFSR(non-linear feed back shift register) and 128/256 key/IV(Initialization Vector). Dragon is the keystream generator that produce 64bits of keystream. In this paper, we present an implementation of Drag(m stream cipher algorithm in hardware. Finally, the implementation is on Altera FPGA device, EP3C35F672I and the timing simulation is done on Altera's Quartus II. A result of 111MHz maximum clock rate and 7.1Gbps is throughput is obtained from the implementation.

  • In this paper, Rijndal cipher algorithm is implemented by a hardware. It is selected as the AES(Advanced Encryption Standard) by NIST. The processor has structure that round operation divided into 2 subrounds and subrounds are pipelined to calculate efficiently. It takes 5 clocks for one-round. The AES-128 cipher algorithm is implemented for hardware by ALTERA FPGA, and then, analyzed the performance. The AES-128 cipher algorithm has approximately 424 Mbps encryption rate for 166Mhz max clerk frequency. In case of decryption, it has 363 Mbps decryption rate for 142Mhz max clock frequency.

  • Traditional block cipher Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is widely used in the field of network security, but it has high overhead on each operation. In the 15th international workshop on information security applications, a novel lightweight and low-power encryption algorithm named low-power encryption algorithm (LEA) was released. This algorithm has certain useful features for hardware and software implementations, that is, simple addition, rotation, exclusive-or (ARX) operations, non-Substitute-BOX architecture, and 32-bit word size. In this study, we further improve the LEA encryptions for cloud computing. The Web-based implementations include JavaScript and assembly codes. Unlike normal implementation, JavaScript does not support unsigned integer and rotation operations; therefore, we present several techniques for resolving this issue. Furthermore, the proposed method yields a speed-optimized result and shows high performance enhancements. Each implementation is tested using various Web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox, and on various devices including personal computers and mobile devices. These results extend the use of LEA encryption to any circumstance.

  • This paper describes a design of area-efficient/low-power cryptographic processor for HIGHT block cipher algorithm, which was approved as standard of cryptographic algorithm by KATS(Korean Agency for Technology and Standards) and ISO/IEC. The HIGHT algorithm, which is suitable for ubiquitous computing devices such as a sensor in USN or a RFID tag, encrypts a 64-bit data block with a 128-bit cipher key to make a 64-bit cipher text, and vice versa. For area-efficient and low-power implementation, we optimize round transform block and key scheduler to share hardware resources for encryption and decryption. The HIGHT64 core synthesized using a 0.35-${\mu}m$ CMOS cell library consists of 3,226 gates, and the estimated throughput is 150-Mbps with 80-MHz@2.5-V clock.
