Effects of Sensory Integration Training on Equilibrium Ability in the College Students of the Twenties (감각통합훈련이 20대 대학생들의 균형능력에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of sensory integration training on equilibrium ability in the college students of the twenties. Methods : The sensory integration training group(male: n=10, female: n=9) was measured an equilibrium ability by Kinesthetic Ability Trainer(KAT) at pre-intervention and post-intervention in 4weeks. Results : Mean value of eye close both leg standing and eye close one leg standing tests of the sensory integration training group were significantly reduced among the intervention period(p<.05). Conclusion : We were found that sensory integration training could reduce mean value of eye close both leg standing and eye close one leg standing tests and improve a balance for the college students of the twenties.

  • This paper describes new line code algorithm, called NIDI(Nibble Inversion mock Inversion) which is well suited for interconnection and transmission technology, The proposed line code which includes only one redundancy bit serves primary features of line code and synchronization patterns for byte or frame synchronization in interconnection, Also, this line code provides in-band signals and speciaI characters.

The Effects of BLS Training on CPR Attitudes of Primary School Students (기본 심폐소생술 교육이 초등학생의 심폐소생술 태도에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: In order to elucidate the effects of BLS (Basic Life Support) education for primary students, we analyzed data collected using a questionnaire on attitude toward CPR. Methods: Students were divided into two groups, the experimental group with BLS education and the control group without BLS education. Data was collected after BLS education for the experimental group. While they were learning BLS, the control group completed the questionnaire. Results: There were significant statistical differences in the total score of students' attitudes. The students in the experimental group indicated a more positive attitude toward CPR than the others. Conclusion: This study showed that BLS education had a positive influence on elementary students' attitudes toward CPR. We expect that the result will contribute to the spread of CPR and the reduction of mortality.

A Simple Method for Testing Freezing Resistance Based on Chlorophyll Fluorescence in Tea (Camellia sinensis L.)

  • For the stable production of high quality tea, the freezing resistance is a very important character. Most of the farmers have planted out-pollinated seeds that are not genetically pure. So, with small sample, a quick and simple method is required to test freezing resistance of lots of germ-plasm and early generation of hybrids. The absorbances(A530 nm) of TTC reduction solution at -5$^{\circ}C$ were positively correlated with resistance to photoinhibition of PSII in 6 hour photoinhibitory treatments, being significantly fitted by simple linear regression ($R^2$=${0.64}^{**}$). Chlorophyll fluorescence measured by Fv/Fm was found to be very useful in evaluating the relative levels of freezing resistance in tea.

Extracellular Polymeric Substances of Pseudomonas chlororaphis O6 Induce Systemic Drought Tolerance in Plants

  • Pseudomonas chlororaphis O6 induces systemic tolerance in plants against drought stress. A volatile, 2R, 3R-butanediol, produced by the bacterium causes partial stomatal closure, thus, limiting water loss from the plant. In this study, we report that applications of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) from P. chlororaphis O6 to epidermal peels of leaves of Arabidopsis thaliana also reduce the size of stomatal openings. Growth of A. thaliana seedlings with applications of the EPS from P. chlororaphis O6 reduced the extent of wilting when water was withheld from the plants. Fluorescence measurements showed photosystem II was protected in the A. thaliana leaves in the water stressed EPS-exposed plants. These findings indicate that P. chlororaphis O6 has redundancy in traits associated with induction of mechanisms to limit water stress in plants.

  • This study aims at examining the effects of strengthening leg muscular strength on increasing elderly's muscular strength, walking ability and balance according to their experience of injury from a fall. It conducts muscular strength exercise for 4 weeks with 19 healthy old people over 65years and as a result of measuring their conditions for 6 weeks, it obtains the following conclusions. 1. Two groups showed a significant difference in their muscular strength, walking ability and balance according to the period(p<0.05). 2. Muscular strength and balance between the two groups showed a significant difference(p<0.05), but there was no significant difference in their walking ability(pgt;0.05). 3. Therefore, the exercise of strengthening leg muscular strength in this study has a significant effect on old people's walking ability and balance.

  • In this study, the degree of performance changes between the guaranteed performance and the performance after a certain operating start time is calculated by using the performance test of gas turbine CHP. The reason of the performance degradation will then be analysed. For some results of the CHP plant performance tests the comprehensive electric power output was 8,380 kW lower than the guaranteed performance, and the gas turbine's output was reduced to about 250 kW whenever ambient temperatures rose to $1^{\circ}C$. Also, causes of the performance degradation of gas turbines are ambient temperature rise, temperature aging and air compressor's efficiency drop.

  • 원격 교육에서 실습 관련 교과목에 대한 이해 접근 방법은 시각적인 학습을 통해 이루어지는 것이 보다 효율적이고 능률적이다. 그러나 사이버 강의에서 실습관련 교과목 피드백 시 직면하게 되는 가장 대표적인 문제점은 설명하기 어렵거나 이해하기 어려운 상황에 대해 학습자는 문자로서만 교수자에게 전달해야 하고, 교수자는 그 상황을 유추해서 응답 해주어야 한다는 사실이다. 따라서 학습 매체로써 탄력적인 수업이 이루어지기 위해서는 다양한 형태의 피드백으로 강의 컨텐츠를 개발하고 이를 적용하여, 교수자가 학습자의 실습 내용을 실시간으로 볼 수 있는 프로그램과 시스템의 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 여기에 초점을 맞추어 실습과목의 효과적인 피드백을 구현할 수 있는 방법을 제안하고 검증하였다.
