Evaluation Method of Weed Suppression by Rice Plant

  • Rice and weed interference in the paddy field caused by resource competition and allelopathy. Evaluation method of active weed suppressive behavior of rice to weed was developed by eliminating light competition at soil condition. Twenty eight days old rice seedlings (6-7 leaf stage) which was grown at saturated, no drainage pot were clipped above $3\~4cm$ from the soil surface. Weeds seeded around clipped rice stem, named ratoon seeding screening method, showed varietal suppressive difference to Echinochloa crus-galli, Echinochloa crusgalli var. praticola and Monochoria vaginalis. Potential allelopathic rice varieties, Sathi, AC1423 and PI312777 showed better suppressive activity to weed seedling growth than Nonganbyeo and Keumobyeo. Weed suppression of one plant of rice cultivars could be evaluated by the cell size of $2.5\times2.5cm$ at rice clipping of seedling 29 days after rice seeding.

Development of a Gas Mixing System for Controlled Atmosphere(CA) Chambers

  • Based on the viscous flow characteristics of gas through capillary tube, a simple and cheap gas mixing system was developed for controlling gas compositions in CA chambers. The gas flow rate through capillary tube had a linear relationship with pressure, (length)$^{-1}$ and (radius)$^4$ of capillary tube, which agreed well with Hagen-Poiseuille’s law. The relationship between flow rate and combined parameters was described as Q=0.000209724($\pi$ r$^4$P/$\mu$L) and the coefficient of determination was 0.9984. The developed system could control gas concentrations in CA chambers within $\pm$0.3% deviation compared to the preset concentrations. It was possible to predict the required time and required gas flow rate for exchanging the gs in CA chamber to a certain concentration of gas by using the mathematical model developed in this study.

  • Trimethyl-and triphenyl-metal (IVA) methoxides were reacted with phenylisocyanate at various temperatures. Even at 100$^{\circ}C$, methyltrimethylsilyl ether, methyltriphenylsilyl ether and triphenyltin methoxide produced the cyclic dimer of phenylisocyanate, N,N'-diphenyluretidine-2,4-dione. But the other compounds produced only the cyclic trimer of phenylisocyanate, phenylisocyanurate. And above 200$^{\circ}C$, considerable amounts of diphenylcarbodiimide was formed by all the organometallic compounds. From these results, the mechanism of cyclic polymerization of phenylisocyanate by the organometal catalysts, and the correlation of substituents with the reactivity were discussed.

한일상관센터 운영과 향후 계획

  • 한국천문연구원은 일본국립천문대와 한일공동으로 개발한 한일공동VLBI상관기(KJJVC)의 VLBI 관측자들에게 연구결과를 제공할 수 있는 정상운영을 2013년부터 수행하였다. 한일상관센터(KJCC)에서는 평균 8시간정도 관측한 VLBI 관측자료의 상관처리에 소요되는 시간은 약 2주 정도이며, 데이터 분석가의 확인을 거친 후 담당 PI에게 상관결과를 전달하고 있다. 현재 상관처리는 다양한 관측모드 중에서 연구관측에서 많은 비중으로 차지하고 있는 C5(16MHz 대역폭에 16stream) 모드를 지원하고 있으며, 2013년도에 여러 연구자들의 요구에 대응하기 위해 Wideband(512MHz 대역폭), C1(256MHz 대역폭, 1stream), C2(128MHz 대역폭, 2stream) 모드를 지원할 수 있도록 시스템의 성능을 개선할 예정이다. 또한 일본국립천문대에서는 자기테이프를 사용하고 있는 VERA 관측망에 대해 관측자료의 복사시간 단축, 운영효율을 향상시키기 위해 하드디스크를 채용한 OCTADISK 시스템을 개발하였으며, 한일상관센터에도 동기재생처리장치에 장착된 2대의 OCTADDB를 OCTADISK로 수정작업을 추진하였다. 본 보고에서는 이상에 기술한 것과 같이 한일상관센터의 운영현황과 향후 계획에 대해 자세히 기술한다.

  • This paper proposes maximum torque control of SynRM drive using artificial intelligent(AI)PI and artificial neural network(ANN). The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal axis current for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to SynRM drive system controlled AIPI and ANN controller and the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail.

  • In this paper proposed the solar tracking system to use a fuzzy control order to increase an output of the PV(Photovoltaic) array. The solar tracking system operated two DC motors driving by signal of photo sensor. The control of dual axes is not an easy task due to nonlinear dynamics and unavailability of the parameters. Recently, artificial intelligent control of the fuzzy control, neural-network and genetic algorithm etc. have been studied. The fuzzy control made a nonlinear dynamics to well perform and had a robust and highly efficient characteristic about a parameter variable as well as a nonlinear characteristic. Hence the fuzzy control was used to perform the tracking system after comparing with error values of setting-up, nonlinear altitude and azimuth. In this paper designed a fuzzy controller for improving output of PV array and evaluated comparison with efficient of conventional PI controller. The data which were obtained by experiment were able to show a validity of the proposed controller.

  • The study was done to evaluate the aetiology, symptoms, and treatment with acupuncture about climacteric syndrome on literature. The results were obtained as follows. 1. The aetiologies of the climacteric syndrome are insufficiency of Chung-Im, outside evil, injury of the five emotions, Labor, exceeding of lust, blood heat, insufficiency of Yin(陰), gathering of phlegm. 2. The climacteric syndrome is to connected with conception vessel, the pulse of Spleen, and Liver. 3. The treatments of climacteric syndrome are nutrition of Kidney and Liver, that of Kidney heat, descending Yang(陽) of Liver, nutrition of blood of heart, having a comunication with Kidney and heart, nutrition of Spleen and Stomarch. 4. For treatment with acupuncture, they have been used the conception vessel, the pulse of Spleen, Bladder, and they use acupuncture points for nutrition of Yin(陰), paece of soul, nurition of blood of Spleen. 5. The acupuncture point in ear for treatment of climacteric syndrome are Pi-Jil-Ha(皮質下), Kyo-Gam(交感), Nae-Bun-Bi-Jeom(內分泌點). These acupuncture points are to connected with estrogen and Kidney functure.

Phenotypic Alterations in Transgenic Tobacco Plants that Overproduce Cytokinins (Cytokinins overproduction에 따른 담배형질전환체의 변화)

  • Cytokinin is one of major growth regulators in plants. In this study, the gene isopentenyl transferase (jpt) which encodes a key enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of the growth regulator cytokinin isolated from Agrobacterium tumefaciens was introduced ito tobacco plant via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. The jpt gene was modulated using the proteinase inhibitor II (PI-IIK) promotor. In general, this promoterlipt gene fusion resulted in overproduction of cytokinins throughout the transgenic plants. The overproduction of cytokinin caused dramatic changes in morphology of the plant, including stem thickness and reduced root development. The studies reported in this paper were initiated to examine the consequences of overproduction of cytokinin in plant.

  • Recently, Influenza(AI, PI) patients have been increasing rapidly. But, there is a lack of isolation hospitals. In particular, according to increase the rate of patients with airborne infection, in order to prevent the spread of pathogens, design of layout plan and air conditioning system of isolation hospitals becomes more important to maintain patient's room as negative pressure. In this study, the spread of pathogens are analyzed as room differential pressure, moving time of medical staff and patients, and moving way in isolation hospitals by multizone simulation; CONTAM 2.4. Through the analysis, the ways to improve isolation hospital considered at the design step are reached to prevent the spread of pathogens effectively. Also, it verifies that HVAC system for isolation hospital is suitably designed as standard.

Association of the Strength of Inyoung Pulse and Carotid Artery Using Ultrasonography and Pulse Diagnosis Device (초음파와 맥진기로 살펴본 인영맥의 세기와 경동맥의 상관 요인 연구)

  • This study was done to identify correlates of carotid artery ultrasonography's measurement and Inyoung pulse in college students. We measured the amplitude of Inyoung pulse, Chongu pulse, ratio of Inyoung to Chongu and ratio of Chongu to Inyoung on 30 college students. Also, We measured the Distance, Diameter), RI(resistivity index), S/D(systolic, diastolic ratio), PI(pulsatility index), PSV(peak systolic velocity), EDV(End diastolic velocity), Vmean using carotid artery ultrasonography. The data was analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficient using SAS program. The results were as follow. Results showed a positive correlation between Inyoung pulse and diameter by carotid artery. It showed a positive correlation between Inyoung pulse and S/D. Also, It showed a positive correlation between Inyoung pulse and PSV. As a result, the strength of Inyoung pulse related with the diameter of carotid artery and blood flow velocity.
