Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the results of korean traditional conservative therapy for thoraco-lumbar compression fracture and it's recovery rate and different result in accordance with sex, age, medical history. Method : We studied about 35 cases who were admitted to Jaseng Hospital of Oriental Medicine with diagnosis of 'Thoraco lumbar compression fracture' with X-ray examination. Result : Out of 35 patients 31 patients discharged with satisfying results. Most of the compression fracture occurred in age of $60{\sim}70$. And the single fractured patients recovered more easily than the multi-level fractured patients. It didn't affect the results whether the patient had another vertebral disease(such as Herniated intervertebral disc or osteoporosis) or not. And most of the patients who had vertebral compression fracture visited the western medicine hospital first. Conclusions : We analyzed the tendency of the patients who had vertebral compression fracture, and concluded that the conservative Korean traditional therapy is an effective means of treatment for the patients who have thoraco-lumbar compression fracture.

Objectives : This study was performed to find the correlation between moire topography and muscle development ratio of both lower limbs. Methods : 88-general persons who examed general health checkup were enrolled this study. Who coincided the exclusion criteria were left out. The authors practiced Moire Topography by using IBS-2000 and measured difference of contour line and interval between vertical base line of neck and pelvis. We made use of X-SCAN to analyse body component and calculate muscle development ratio of both lower limbs. Results : In this study, we found out that the more interval between vertical base line of neck and pelvis grown large, the more muscle development ratio of both lower limbs got small. So, there was correlation between imbalance of the dorsum muscle and muscle development ratio of both lower limbs.(p>0.05). But others did not have. Conclusion : According to this results, we found out there was correlation between imbalance of lumbar and gluteal region and muscle development ratio of both lower limbs. Apply to clinic, we are able to improve the efficacy of diagnosis and medical treatment.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to analyze changes in the gait pattern of a unilateral knee pain patient after treatment with Korean Medicine therapy. Methods : We conducted gait analysis 4 times over 11 days to analyze changes in gait parameters using gait analysis systems. Results : Velocity, cadence, step length, and stride length were all increased. On the collateral side, both stance phase and double support (%) decreased. These results are similar to those of hemiplegic patients with improvement patterns. Conclusions : Gait analysis could be used as a good evaluation tool for tracking improvements in knee pain.

Objectives : This study aims to evaluate domestic/foreign clinical studies related to the traction therapy and analyse points to consider about cervical/lumbar traction therapy. Methods : Seven databases were searched for related articles about cervical/lumbar traction therapy from 1950 to 2014. Fourteen clinical studies and several systemic reviews were included among 144 studies searched. Out of fourteen clinical studies, four were case series and ten were controlled trials. Results : Most of included studies reported favorable effects of traction group compared to baseline of controlled group. The various mechanical factors most relevant to traction are 1) angle of pull and direction, 2) traction force, 3) duration of traction and frequency of treatment. Conclusions : We found various mistake in the applications of statistical methodologies of traction therapy targeting patients of cervical, lumbar vertebral disease. It is necessary for more randomized controlled trials to evaluate effect of cervical/lumbar traction therapy targeting patients of cervical, lumbar vertebral disease.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Bee-venom acupuncture on low back pain by traffic accidents. Methods : We included 34 patients with low back pain caused by TA for this study. The experimental group was treated by usual therapy plus Bee-venom acupuncture therapy, the control group was treated by usual therapy such as acupunture therapy and herbal medicine therapy. Oswestry Disability Index(ODI) and Visual Analog Scale(VAS) were evaluated at 4 week from baseline for the treatment effect in the both group. Results : After the subjects being treated by Bee-venom or general acupuncture therapy. It was detected that the scores of ODI and VAS in both groups decreased at the 4 week from baseline. There was significant difference between both groups in the VAS. However, there was no significant difference between both groups in the ODI. Conclusions : The results suggested that bee-venom acupuncture was effective on low back pain by traffic accidents.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of Yanghyeolgeopung-tang(yangxuequfeng-tang) to two patients with cervical disc herniation and headache. Methods : The patients were hopitalized at the Dept. of Oriental Rehabilitation Medicine, Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital, and diagnosed as cervical disc herniation and treated mainly with herbal medicine; Yanghyeolgeopung-tang(yangxuequfeng-tang). Additional acupuncture and pharmaco-puncture was provided. NRS(Numeric Rating Scale) and NDI(Neck Disability Index) scores were used as outcome measures. Results : After taking Yanghyeolgeopung-tang(yangxuequfeng-tang), the patients' pain was controlled and the patients slept well after treatment. NRS and NDI scores both decreased. Conclusions : As seen in these two cases of cervical disc herniation with headache, Yanghyeolgeopung-tang(yangxuequfeng-tang) has a positive effect in controlling neck pain and headahce due to cervical disc herniation.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of Rocking forward, Rocking backward Exercise and MET(Muscle Energy Techniques) to three patients who had sway-back posture. Methods : Three patients diagnosed as sway-back posture, not have discogetic pain, were hospitalized Bu-Chun Jaseng hospital of Oriental Medicine about 20 days and they were treated by Rocking forward, Rocking backward Exercise and MET. To measure the outcome of the patients' improvement, we observed the X-ray of Whole spine and Numerical Rating Scale(NRS). Results : After being treated by Rocking forward, Rocking backward Exercise and MET, the patients' posture was significantly improved and the pain was reduced. The X-ray of Whole spine became almost normal and the improvement of patients' in the NRS score was detected. Conclusions : These results suggest that Rocking forward, Rocking backward Exercise and MET were effective treatment on patients who had sway-back posture.

Objectives: The purpose of this case report is to investigate the effect of exercise for vastus medialis to knee pain patients with patello-femoral pain syndrome. Methods: Two patients with patello-femoral pain syndrome were treated by exercise for vastus medialis. To measure the outcome of the patients' improvement, we observed the X-ray of both knee sky-line view, Numerical Rating Scale(NRS), and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities(WOMAC) index. Results: After being treated by exercise for vastus medialis, the patients' X-ray of both knee sky-line view, Numerical Rating Scale(NRS), and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities(WOMAC) index were significantly improved. Conclusions: These results suggest that exercise for vastus medialis is effective treatment to patients with patello-femoral pain syndrome.

Objectives: Patients with nonodotogenic toothache are increasing in numbers. However, there is no reliable treatment guide in both conventional & complementary medicine. Also, there are not much clinical case of patients with nonodotogenic toothache in oriental medical field. We investigated effect of using craniosacral therapy and acupuncturing suboocitptal muscle on patient with nonodotogenic toothache. Methods: 72-year old female patient with nonodotogenic toothache was treated with using craniosacral therapy and acupuncturing suboocciptal muscle. Results: We had a satisfactory result with using craniosacral therapy and acupuncturing suboocitptal muscle. The patient's VAS grade improved to 1(Rt.), 5(Lt.). Conclusions: We reach a conclusion using craniosacral therapy and acupuncturing suboocitptal muscle improve patient with nonodotogenic toothache. And more study about this disease is needed.

Objectives: The Purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical application of Whallak-tang(Huoluo-tang) to two patients with Whiplash injury. Methods: Patients are hospitalized at Dept. of Oriental Rehabilitation, Bu-Chun Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital, diagnosed as Whiplash injury and treated mainly with herbal medine; Whallak-tang(Huoluo-tang). This study was measured by NDI(Neck Disability Index) and VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) score. Results: After taking Whallak-tang(Huoluo-tang), the patient's pain was controlled and slept well after treatment. VAS & NDI score were decreased. Conclusions: As seen in this two cases of whiplash injury, Whallak-tang(Huoluo-tang) has a positive effect to control pain with whiplash injury.
