Objectives : The objective of this study is to report the effect of Traditional Korean medical therapy and core exercise on osteoarthritis of knee joint by observing a clinical case study. Methods : Patient with a diagnosis of osteoarthritis of knee joint, was treated by acupuncture, herb medicine, physical theraphy and core exercise. Results : After treatment, Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), Korean version of the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities(KWOMAC), Pain Rating Score(PRS) were reduced from 5 to 2, from 25 to 16, from 55 to 27, and CENTAUR test results were improved. Conclusions : This study showed that Traditional Korean medical therapy and core exercise has meaningful effect on osteoarthritis of knee joint, and more researches should be followed.

Objectives : The purpose of this clinical study is to evaluate the effect of Korean Medicine with Functional CerebroSpinal Therapy(FCST) on a tremor patient. Methods : A patient with tremor of one side was treated with herbal medication, acupuncture and FCST. The effect of treatment was evalutated by frequency of tremor. Results : After Korean medicine with FCST, symptoms were decreased and conditions were improved. Conculsions : The Korean medicine treatment with FCST might be effective for the tremor.

Objectives : The purpose of these clinical cases is to evaluate the effectiveness of Korean medical therapy on neck pain with cervical syringomyelia Methods : These are case reports on 2 patients admitted to Daejeon jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine with neck pain and diagnosis of cervical syringomyelia by Cervical spine Magnetic Resonance Imaging, were observed during hospitalization. They were analyzed according to pain and Cervical spine Range of Motion. All patients received a combination of treatments including Acupunture, Chuna, Pharmacopunture, Herbal medication. Pain scales(Number Rating Scale, Neck Disability Index) and Cervical spine Range of Motion were used during hospitalization. Results : After 3 weeks for these patients, Cervical spine Number Rating Scales decreased from 7 to 3 and from 9 to 4 respectively. And Trapezius muscle Number Rating Scales decreased from 7 to 3 and from 2 to 1 respectively. Also Cervical spine Range of Motion improved to the normal. Conclusions : Korean medical therapy might be effective in reducing pain and improving range of motion for patients with neck pain. And we hope this study further confirmed the effectiveness of Korean medical therapy on neck pain with cervical syringomyelia.

Objectives This study aimed to report the effectiveness of abdominal Daoyin and lymphatic circulation technique in conjunction with whole-body articulation mechanics technique therapy in treating indigestion. Methods Three patients who suffered from dyspepsia and abscess after consuming foods incompatible with their constitution, following a 10-year implementation of a constitutional diet at a local Korean Medicine clinic, visited a Korean Medicine Hospital. The patients underwent treatment with abdominal Daoyin and lymphatic circulation technique. The effects of these techniques were analyzed using a retrospective record analysis method. Results Following the implementation of abdominal Daoyin and lymphatic circulation technique for indigestion, the numeric rating scale scores improved significantly. Case 1 improved from 9 to 2, case 2 from 6 to 0, and case 3 from 5 to 1. Conclusions While acknowledging the limitations of being a case report involving only three patients and the absence of specialized outcomes for digestive issues, this report may provide a preliminary basis for considering the efficacy of Chuna manual therapy in indigestion treatment.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy of Chuna and Stylex device treatment in patients with genu varum. Methods 2 patients (21/male, 40/female) with genu varum were recruited in this study. Chuna treatment at pelvic, and stylex device treatment at both legs were applied to all participants. Outcomes were assessed using Q-angle (Quadriceos angle), TFA (Tibiovemoral angle), Distance of both sides patella. Results 1. Distance of both sides patella were decrease in all case. 2. Q-angel and TFA were decrease in case 1. but slight invrease in case 2. Conclusions This study showed that Chuna and Stlyex divice treatments could be used as an effective method for decrease distance of both sides patella. but Q-angle and TFA need more research on whether proper assessment as a measure of genu varum.

Objective : The purpose of this report is to examine the effects of Scalp Acupunture therapy in the diplopia by traffic accident. Methods : We investigated one patient suffering from diplopia which was admitted to Kyung-Ju O.M. hospital from April 16, 2004 to May 22, 2004. We treated one patient by Scalp Acupunture therapy. Results : 1. We operated Scalp Acupunture on the sight-area(視區) 2. In the result of treatment, the diplopia is distinguished almost. Conclusions : The scalp acupunture therapy is effective of diplopia patient, but we thought that it needed to prove effects of Scalp Acupunture therapy for efficient application with more clinical cases.

Objectives : The objective of this study is to evaluate the treatment effect of Taping therapy in Herniation of Inter-Vertebral Disc. Methods : Taping therapy were performed for 31 days ambulatory care in a patient who had Herniation of Inter-Vertebral Disc. Results : Physical examination of Lumbar Spine has improved, VAS were also decreased. Conclusion: Taping therapy were effective in reducing the symptoms. We think that it need the further study and clinical trial for Herniation of Inter- Vertebral Disc.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic effect of Positional Release Therapy on patients of neck pain, Methods: 12 patients was treated by Positional Release Therapy(PRT) combined with acupuncture, We measured the Visual Analog Scale(VAS) and Neck Disability Index(NDI) before and after treatment The statistical analysis was performed by using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. Results: 1. Patients showed significant improvement in VAS after treatrnent(p<0.05). 2. Patients showed significant improvement in NDI after treatment(p<0.05). Conclusion: These results imply that Positional Release Therapy combined with acupuncture would be effective on relieving pain and increasing functional ability in daily-life of patients of neck pain.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic effect of acupuncture treatment of acute ankle sprain combined with positional release therapy. Methods: A prospective randomized single blind study between positional release group and knee flexed supine position group was conducted. Patients with ankle sprain within 48 hours were evaluated by Ankle injury grade chart(AIGC). In group A, positional release therapy was combined with acupuncture, whereas in group B, acupuncture was conducted in knee flexed supine position. The treatment was planned for a duration of 1 week, 3times a week. In AIGC scores, VAS, weight bearing time and weight bearing time in blind were followed up and compared. Results and Conclusion: The VAS score decreased in both group. Weight bearing time increased in group B, weight bearing time in blind increased in group A. Comparing the therapeutic effect of each group, group A had significant effectiveness in weight bearing time in blind. So we may conclude that Acupuncture treatment combined with positional release therapy is effective and recommandable at early stage of ankle sprain.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the combination effect of Chuna manipulation and warm needle acupuncture for a case of obstinate chronic tinnitus. Methods : We applied Danmuji Anchu Tracton technique, lateral pterygoid Chuna and warm needle acupuncture at SI19 once a day for 2 weeks. Visual analogue scale(VAS) was used for the intensity of tinnitus and tinnitus handicap inventory(THI) was evaluated. Results : VAS was improved from 6 to 2 in right ear, 4 to 1 in left ear after the treatment. THI was also improved from 54 to 34 after the treatmemt. Conclusions : The combined therapy of Chuna manipulation and warm needle acupuncture can be used for chronic tinnitus.
