  • We arrange Korean ancient calendar with Solar calendar during Choseon Dynasty(A.D. 1392-1910). In this period, we have one representable history books and several books, and most of information for date are found from them, ChoseonWangjosillok(조선왕조실록) and Jeungbomunheonbigo(증보문헌비고), etc. In those books many astronomical data and calendar information data are contained, so we can make chronological tables. Most of the data are arranged based on those several books, and for doubtable data are identified from eclipse, historical events and lunar phase calculations etc. We find that arranged chronological tables during Choseon Dynasty are similar to that of China and somewhat different from that of Japan. In addition we summarize all misrecorded date data in ChoseonWangjosillok

  • In most of the modern libraries throughout the world, it is popular to adopt the author number which arranges the books or entries in alphabetical order of their author's names within the same ultimate class. However, viewed historically, that was the Western practice never used in the East before. Traditionally chronological order was followed in the East. Book number not only individualizes the books within the same class but also makes it easy for the user to choose and find out the relevant materials. In this respect, chronological book number is decidedly superior to all kinds of book number systems ever have been existed. Especially in these days of rapid obsolescence of documents and with serious problems of storage of documents, the chronological order seems to be the most modern and future-oriented of all other book number systems because it distinguishes clearly new materials from aged materials by the date of publication and controls the stack spaces mechanically and effectively. This writer devised New Chronological Book Numbers adaptable to both the Eastern and Western materials, and the system has been adopted at Yonsei University Library. The features of the system are as follows: (1) It is easy to type the call number in cataloging the Eastern and Western materials. That is because the structure of the chronological number is pure numerical notation by taking the last two figures of the year within twentieth century(e.g. 85 for AD 1985), that is 1900s, and the last three figures of the year from twenty-first century to thirtieth century, that is 2000s. (2) It does not make all classes have chronological number uniformly. Within the classes for individual biographies, genealogies and collections of biography of specific family, books about individual organization, individual literary and artistic works, philosophical works of the famous philosophers, books and its facsmile editions published before 1900, new editions, translations, commentaries, serials, chronological number is assigned to the author number as in the past. (3) It separates the Eastern materials from the Western materials and makes the typing easy in cataloging. That is because the subarrangement within the same chronological book number is made by the accession order which uses 'panjol-ponmun' or the characters of basic syllabic table of Korean alphabet in case of the Eastern materials and Roman alphabet in case of the Western materials.

  • We arranged ancient Korean calendar during Koryo dynasty (A.D. 918-1392) according to Julian calendar. We used two representative history books, Koryo-sa (高麗史) and Koryo-sa Jeolyo (高麗史節要), which contain thea stronomical and the historical records chronologically. We found all 19,727 ganji dates(日辰) and 102 misrecoreded ganji dates in two books. Most of the data are arranged based on those two books, and doubtful data are identified using the eclipse, historical events and lunar phase calculations etc. Although Korea, China, and Japan were using basically the same calendar since ancient times, their calendars show some significant disagreement. We found that arranged chronological tables during Koryo dynasty were, in some cases, different from those of China and Japan.

  • As compared with body height and body weight by ages and sexes, by means of the data reported under other researchers from 1967 to 1994 for 33 years, this study obtained the estimate value of body height and body weight by ages and sexes for the same period, and figured out prediction value of body height and body weight in the ages of between 6 and 14 from 1995 to 2000. These surveys and measurements took for one year from October 1st 1994 to September 30th. As shown in the 〈Table 1〉, in order to calculate the establishment, estimate value and prediction value of the chronological regression model of body height and body weight, by well-grounded 17 representative research papers, this research statistically tested propriety of liner regression model by the residual analysis in advance of being reconciled to simple liner regression model by the autonomous variable-year and the subordinate variable-body weight and measured prediction value, theoretical value from 1962 to 1994 by means of 2nd or 3rd polynomial regression model, with this redult did prediction value from 1995 to 2000. 1. Chronological Change of Body Height and Body Weight The analysis result from regression model of the chronological body height and body weight for the aged 6 - 16 in both sexes ranging from 1962 to 1994, corned from the 〈Table 2-20〉. On the one hand, the measurement value of respective researchers had a bit changes by ages with age growing, but the other hand, theoretical value, prediction value showed the regular increase by the stages and all values indicated a straight line on growth and development with age growing. That is, in case of the aged 6, males had 109.93cm in 1962 and females 108.93cm, but we found the increase that males had 1I8.0cm, females 1I3.9cm. In theoretical value, prediction value, males showed the increase from 109.88cm to 1I7.89cm and females from 109.27cm to 1I5.64cm respectively. There was the same inclination toward all ages. 2. Comparision to Measurement Value and Prediction Value of Body Height and Body Weight in 1994 As shown in the 〈Table 21〉, in case of body height, measurement value and prediction value of body height and body weight by ages and sexes almost showed the similiar inclination and poor grade, in case of body weight, prediction value in males had a bit low value by all ages, and prediction value in females had a high value in adolescence, to the contrary, a low value in adult. 3. Prediction Value of Body Height and Body Weight from 1995 to 2000 This research showed that body height and body weight remarkably increased in adolescence but slowly in adult. This study represented that Korean physique was on the increase and must be measured continually hereafter.

  • The prime minister(樞密相公) Choi jongjun writes"Eouichwaryobang(御醫撮要方)"A.D. 1226 that is a Goryeo Period (A.D.$918{\sim}1392$). But today that has vanished, now. Inspite of the important worth of that book in Korea Traditional Medicine, there is no study about writer. So I research all the historical source about him. And I confront a historical source with the era for making a chronological table of Choi jongjun. I beliebe this survey make a great contribution towards the historical research of KTM. Now to conclude, In A.D. 1226, Choi Jongjun was Jung chuwonbusa(中樞院副使) or Chumseowonsa(簽書院事).
