  • This paper presents a clustering adaptive controller to achieve robustness against parameter variations although it has simple structure and computational simplicity. The presented controller based on optimal fuzzy logic controller has an self-tuning characteristics with clustering. The controller requires no model of the system to be controlled. Simulation results show that the usefulness of the proposed controller.

  • Cumulative sum schemes based on a weighted score are considered for controlling the mean of a continuous production process; in which both the one-sided and two-sided schemes are proposed. The average run lengths and the run length distributions for the proposed schemes are obtained by the Markov chain approach. Comparisons by the average run length show that the proposed schemes perform nearly as well as the standard cumulative sum schemes in detecting changes in the process mean. Comparisons of the one-sided schemes by the run length distribution are also presented.

  • In this paper, we prove the product property and the existence of an extremal analytic disc relative to the higher order Kobayashi metric. Also by making use of the upper semicontinuity of the higher order Kobayashi metric, we introduce a pseudodistance and investigate some properties of that pseudodistance related to the usual Kobayashi metric.

  • This paper provides a method of obtaining a lower bound on the probability of correct selection for a two-stage selection procedure. The resulting lower bound sharpens that by Tamhane and Bechhofer (1979) for the normal means problem with a common known variance. The design constants associated with the lower bound are computed and the results of the performance comparisons are given.

  • This paper presents another system of multi-level skip-lot sampling plan, which can directly retum to normal inspection from any skpping inspection level when a sudden shift for the worse in the process mean occurs. All the other properties of the proposed sampling plan are similar to those of the Choi's(1993) plan. The formula of the poerating characteristic function for the proposed n-level skip-lot sampling plan is derived. Sone poerating characteristic properties for the proposed plan are graphically compared with those of the Choi's plan.

  • This paper proposes a method for detecting interactions in a two-way layout with one observation per cell. The identification of interactions in the model is not clear for they are confounding with error terms. The $L_1$-Estimation is robust with respect to a y-direction outlier in linear model so we are able to estimate main effects without affection of interactions, If an observation is classified as an outlier we conclude it contains an interaction. An empirical study compared with a classical method is performed.

  • Classically, valuation theory is closely related to the theory of divisors and conversely. If D is a Dedekined ring and K is its quotient field, then we can clearly construct the theory of divisors on D (or K), and then we can induce all the valuations on K ([3]). In particular, if K is a number field and A is the ring of algebraic integers, then since Z is Dedekind, A is a Dedekind rign and K is the field of fractions of A.(omitted)
