  • To develop the content and form of the teacher education program for mathematical excellence, we reviewed several teacher education programs. CGI is an excellent model for teacher education program for mathematical excellence. We developed the 12 teacher education programs based on mathematical tasks developed for the gifted children and have applied them to teacher education. It is not so difficult to develop more programs, because we have made a lot of tasks for the gifted in mathematics for 8 years. Wooden Die for Drinking Game which is one of 12 programs is introduced in this article.

  • In this paper we review a bi-aspect nonparametric test for the two-sample problem under the location translation model and propose a new one to accommodate a more broad class of underlying distributions. Then we compare the performance of our proposed test with other existing ones by obtaining empirical powers through a simulation study. Then we discuss some interesting features related to the bi-aspect test with a comment on a possible expansion for the proposed test as concluding remarks.

  • This study reviews several well-known control charts for the location parameter with a discussion of the relationship between the maintenance of the control chart and a series of hypotheses testing. As a by-product, we then propose a new median control chart with the sign test statistic. We also modify the nonparametric control charts to easily understand the relation. Then we illustrate the construction of several median control charts with the industrial data and compare the efficiency among several control charts. Finally, we discuss some interesting features for the median control charts as concluding remarks.

  • This study proposes a modified definition about $C_{pk}$ based on median as the centering parameter in order to more easily control the process since the mean does not represent any quantile of the asymmetric process distribution. Then we consider an estimate and derive the asymptotic normality for the estimate of the modified $C_{pk}$. In addition, we provide an example with asymmetric distributions and discuss the estimation for the limiting variance that are followed by some concluding remarks.

  • Arginase was purified to homogeneity from Schizosaccharomyces pombe. The purified enzyme is a tetramer with a subunit molecular weight of 42,000. Activity is optimal at pH 10.0 and at $60^{\circ}C$ The enzyme migrated during isoelectric focusing showing a pl=5.4. The enzyme exhibited hyperbolic kinetics at pH 10.0 with an apparent $K_m$ for L-arginine of 18 mM. Arginase activity was strongly inhibited by L-glutamate.

  • A Bayesian burn-in procedure is developed for imited failure populations in which defective items fail soon after they are put in operation and non-defective ones never fail during he technical life of the items. Sequential schemes guaranteeing pre-specified outgoing quality of a product are derived based on prior information on the quality of a product and accumulated failure information up to the decision point. A numerical example is also provided.

  • The influence in fitting an equicorrelation model is investigated using the influence function. The influence functions for the model parameters are derived and its sample versions are used for investigating the influence of observations on the estimators of the parameters. Some relationships among the sample versions are found. We will derive a measure for identifying observations that have a large influence on the test of fitting the equicorrelation model using the influence function method. An example is given for illustration.
