Visiting Characteristics of Nogodan and Sesokpyongjan in Chirisan National Park (지리산 국립공원 노고단과 세석평전의 이용특성)

  • No. of visitor at Chirisan National Park increased by three times, respectively after seven years comparing to the visitors before construction of the Songsamjae access road in 1988. Fifty percent of visitors at southern and northern rigion of Chirisan National Park visited Nogodan in spring and autumn season. And thirty percent of visitors at Sesokpyongjon accessed from Nogodan, respectively. Visitors at Nogodan and Sesokpyongion were estimated each 410.000 persons and 150.000 persons in 1994. Maximum daily users of shelter and camp ground were each 570 persons in Nogodan and 1, 100 persons in Sesokpyongjon in 1994. The Songsamjae access road in Chirisan National Park increased users' impacts on mountain ridge environment including Nogodan, Sesokpyongjon. etc. Therefore user management including prohibiting camping shall be necessary in order to minimize environmental damage of mountain ridge.

Song Variations of Great Tits Inhabiting Chirisan and Ullungdo (지리산과 울릉도에서 서식하는 박새 Song의 변이)

  • Songs recorded in Chirisam(1990~1993) and $Ull\v{u}ngdo$(1992~1993) areas were analyzed to investigate the features and variances in songs of Great tit, Parus major. Songs of Great tits were identified, most of which were repetitions of phrases composed of high-frequency note and low-frequency note. The CV range of the Chirisan Great tit group was wider than that of the $Ull\v{u}ngdo$ area. ANOVA analysis level was highly significant (p<0.0001) for Chirisan area and $Ull\v{u}ngdo$ area. Inter-regional variance level was significant (p<0.05) in the maximum of low-frequency.

On the 1936 Chirisan Earthquake (1936년 지리산 지진에 대하여)

  • The Chirisan earthquake occurred on July 4, 1936 was the largest earthquake known to have occurred in Southern Korean in the twentieth century. After, the magnitude of the earthquake was estimated to be ML = 5.0. It was recorded at eleven seismological stations and tremors were felt throughout the Southen Peninsula. However, damages were restricted in relatively narrow area including the SSangysa Temple and nearby town Sukmoon. Fairy detailed report(Hayata, 1940) was published and some reserches based on the report have been performed. The present study briefly introduces damages and researches corresponding the earthquake. Intensity attenuation and peak ground acceleration are also evaluated.

  • 1999년 7월 24일부터 7월 25일까지 지리산국립공원 중 동부지역 일대에서 양서류 및 파충류상을 조사한 결과 양서류는 총 2목 5과 8종 파충류는 1목 3과 6종이 관찰 및 탐문으로 조사되었다 이번 조사에서 두꺼비 1종의 고유종이 관찰되었으며 외래종과 환경부 지정 보호야생동물 및 멸종위기종은 관찰되지 않았다.

Dynamic Patterns of Abies korean Population in Chirisan National Park -Central of East Area in Chirisan National Park- (지리산국립고원 구상나무개체군 동태-지리산국립공원 동부지역을 중심으로-)

  • 지리산 국립공원의 동부지역을 대상으로 구상나무개체군 동태를 파악하기 위하여 1999년 7월에 49개의 조사구(20m$\times$15m)를 설치하여 식생구조를 조사하였다. 조사대상지의 구상나무는 북사면에서 해발 900m 이상 남사면에서 해발 1,000m 이상에서 분포하였다 구상나무의 상대우점치는 북사면의 경우 해발 1,300-1,500m 사이에서 높게나타났으며 남사면의 경우 해발 1,400-1,600m 사이에서 높게 나타났다. 조사구별 구상나무의 상대우점치는 북사면에서 높게 나타났으나 흉고직경 2-17m 미만의 개체수 경우 북사며에서보다 남사면의 조사구에서 많이 나타났고 대경목은북사면에서 많이 나타났다.
