인터넷 사용자의 개인정보보호 행동의 차이에 관한 연구 (Differences in Privacy-Protective Behaviors by Internet Users in Korea and China)

  • Privacy-protective behavior can be classified into passive behavior and active behavior. Passive behavior includes refusal, misrepresentation, and removal, while word-of-mouth, complaint, and seeking for help belong to active behavior. Internet users in different countries may take different types of privacy-protective behavior because of cultural and social differences. This study analyzes the differences in Internet users' privacy-protective behavior between Korea and China. Korean Internet users take refusal, complaint, and seeking to protect their privacy information, while misrepresentation is not an option for Korean Internet users. Chinese Internet users take refusal, complaint, seeking, and misrepresentation to protect their privacy information. In Korea, passive behavior (refusal) is chosen more often than active behavior (complaint and seeking for help), while in China active behavior(complaint and seeking for help) is preferred to passive behavior (refusal and misrepresentation). The differences of privacy-protective behavior in the two countries may provide some implications for online companies, if they want to avoid the business risk due to privacy concerns and to take appropriate steps to deal with privacy-protective behavior by Internet users.

중국 저가항공사 서비스 만족도 및 재이용 의도에 관한 연구 (Empirical Study on Customer Satisfaction and Intention to Reuse in Chinese Low Cost Carrier Industry)

  • Purpose - In this study, we tried to find that the relationship between the perception of customers on the airline service quality, customer satisfaction, and intention to reuse in Chinese low-cost carriers industry. Design/methodology/approach - We conducted the empirical study for hypotheses testing using the survey data of experienced users in Chinese low-cost carriers service. In this study, reliability and factor analysis were conducted using SPSS 26.0, the path analysis was performed using AMOS 24. Findings - We found that the customer's perception of aviation operation, reservation/ ticketing, online information service provided by Chinese low-cost carriers are positively associated with customer satisfaction. In addition, it was confirmed that customer satisfaction is positively related to the intention to reuse. Research implications or Originality - Based on the results of analysis, it was confirmed that the basic sub-services of the airline are also important in the low-cost carriers services market.

A Pilot Cross-Cultural Comparative Study on Users' Perception of the Webpage: With the Focus on Cognitive Style of Chinese and French

  • Based on Nisbett and his colleagues' theoretical model "Holistic" and "Analytic" which show the differences in cognitive style of Eastern Asian and Westerners, the author hypothesized that the differences in cognitive style of people from diverse cultural backgrounds may influence their perception and usage of webpage. An experiment was carried out and the Eye-gaze device was used to assist to explore the relationship. The results revealed the relationship between cognitive style and webpage design. different cognitive style results different viewing pattern on webpage. Chinese people are more likely to have a holistic view of the whole page first and then focus on detail, while French people tend to read the heading information first and then proceeding down the page. Chinese emphasized the background as well as the whole look and feel of the webpage more, while French noticed the independent contents and element designs more on the webpage.

  • This study is about constructing L2 pronunciation correction system for L1 speakers using speech technology. Chinese pronunciation system consists of initials, finals and tones. Initials/finals are in segmental level and tones are in suprasegmental level. So different method could be used assessing Korean users' Chinese. The recognition rate of initials is 81.9% and that of finals is 68.7% in the standard acoustic model. Differ from native speech recognition, nonnative speech recognition could be promoted by additional modeling using L2 speakers' speech. As a first step for the those task we analysed nonnative speech and then set a strategy for modeling Korean speakers'.

Exploring Gender Differences in Motivations for Using Sina Weibo

  • While Facebook and Twitter get worldwide attention, these popular SNSs are not available in China. As the leading local SNS, Sina Weibo has garnered much of the attention in China. The purpose of the study was to explore why Chinese college students use Sina Weibo and if gender differences exist in the motivations for using it. The results from a survey of 360 respondents show that Chinese students used Sina Weibo mainly for information-gathering, followed by accessibility to celebrity, social connection, self-presentation and entertainment. Among them the most dominant reason for using Sina Weibo was found to be information-gathering. This finding suggests that Sina Weibo functions as a platform to search for information on social issues and interests. The study also found that these motivations were significantly different between male and female users. Interestingly, female respondents used Sina Weibo much more broadly than male counterparts, accessing it to satisfy all needs such as information gathering, accessibility to celebrity, social connection, self-presentation and entertainment. Based on these findings limitations and direction for future studies are discussed.

An Exploratory Study on Chinese Females' Social Media Self-Presentation: A Case Study of WeChat

  • Based on Goffman's dramaturgical theory and self-objectification framework, this study examined: 1) Chinese female's WeChat self-presentation, 2) the impact of WeChat usage on female self-objectification, and 3) the impact of self-objectification on WeChat self-presentation tactics. An online survey was conducted. The main findings include: 1) most of the participants chose to beautify their pictures and videos before they posted them, 2) the respondents attached higher importance to appearance-based body attributes than competence-based ones, 3) the most frequently applied self-presentation tactic was ingratiation, 4) WeChat usage was not a predictor of Chinese women's self-objectification, and, 5) along with extroversion, self-objectification had an impact on ingratiation, supplication, self-promotion, and exemplification. Meanwhile, use of the electronic curtain and audience sifting to control who can see a post and for how long demonstrated the empowerment of the users when they conduct self-presentation.

모바일 패션 앱의 지각된 유용성과 위험 및 행동의도 -중국인 유학생 초점집단 면접 조사- (Perceived Usefulness and Risks and Behavioral Intentions of Mobile Fashion Apps -Focus Group Interviews with Chinese Students Studying in Korea-)

  • This exploratory study investigated Chinese consumers' perceived usefulness and risks of fashion apps and identified reasons for continuance and discontinuance intentions. This study conducted focus group interviews with a convenience sample of 13 Chinese students majoring in fashion in Korea. Based on interviewee responses, this study identified five attributes leading the perceived usefulness of mobile fashion apps (ubiquity and convenience, multi-media information, personalization, interactivity between consumers, and immediateness) and sub elements related to the five attributes. Five types of perceived risk (privacy risk, security risk, product risk, loss of future opportunity, and time risk) were identified in relation to Chinese consumers' use of fashion apps. The important role of live streaming services was uniquely identified by Chinese fashion app users. Usefulness of location-based information provided by mobile fashion apps were differently perceived according to respondents' use purpose, and augmented reality services provided by the apps were related to entertainment rather than usefulness. This study provides meaningful insights into Chinese consumers' perceptions of fashion apps and important app attributes that influence their continuance and discontinuance intentions. The findings from this study lend preliminary implications for future researchers and fashion businesses interested in the Chinese app market.

다속성 효용이론을 활용한 중국시장에서의 인터넷 의료정보 서비스 선호속성 분석 (An Analysis of Consumer Preferences for Internet Medical Information Service in China Using the Multi-Attribute Utility Theory)

  • This study investigated consumer preferences for Internet medical information service in China using the multi-attribute utility theory. The multi-attribute utility theory is a compositional approach for modeling consumer preferences wherein researchers calculate the overall service utility by summing up the evaluation results for each attribute. We found that Chinese Internet medical information users consider the availability of information and quick response to be the most important attributes. Further, they think that the comment feature is less important as compared to other attributes such as costs and updates. In addition, we found that the Internet users having more Internet experience consider these attributes to be more important as compared to the people who are just beginning to surf the Internet. For any successful Internet business, Internet marketers should assess individual-level preference and accordingly organize a fresh campaign. As of now, Internet marketers need estimation methods to predict the market performance of new services in many different business environments. We believe that the multi-attribute utility theory is a useful approach in this regard.

  • 본 연구는 소셜 미디어 플랫폼 회원들의 중국 위챗 정보 공유 의도을 평가하기 위한 모델을 제안한다. 이 데이터는 중국 위챗 사용자들로부터 나왔으며, 150명의 위챗 사용자들이 이 조사에 참여했다. 이 연구의 결과는 정보 공유 의도가 태도, 주관적 규범, 인지된 행동 제어에 의해 직접적으로 영향을 받는 반면, 평판과 호혜적관계는 태도와 긍정적인 관련이 있으며, 인상은 정보 공유에 대한 인지된 행동 제어에 긍정적인 관련이 있다는 것을 보여준다.

Use Intention of Mobile Fingerprint Payment between UTAUT and DOI in China

  • Purpose - With the rapid growth of Chinese mobile pay market, it's necessary to run a study of the aims why users prefer to intention of use for mobile fingerprint payment. To reach this goal, UTAUT added Perceived Security and DOI. Research design, data, and methodology - The researchers conducted this study by using collected 3126 responses and the collected data was analyzed by applying statistical techniques factor analysis, AMOS, and Cronbach's Alpha and SPSS 22.0. Results - The result shows that compatibility and relative advantage of mobile fingerprint payment have positive effect on performance expectancy and effort expectancy separately, and the performance expectancy and effort expectancy have positive effect on people's use intention of mobile fingerprint payment. Social influence has a positive effect on the users' use intention of mobile fingerprint payment, Facilitating conditions has a slight effect on the users' use intention of mobile fingerprint payment, Perceived security has the most significant effect on he users' use intention of mobile fingerprint payment. Conclusions - The research showed that compatibility is one of the most important elements that make users continue to use the product. The mobile fingerprint payment must own clearer advantages than other ones that it can reach the biggest market. The Social Influence has a positive influence on the intention of use.
