Sequential Transition Patterns of Social Play by Children's Social Competence (유아의 사회적 능력에 따른 사회적 놀이의 연속적 변화 패턴)

  • This study examined whether sequential transition patterns of social play differed by children's social competence. The social competence of sixty 5-year-old children was rated by their teachers using the Social Competence Scale(NICHD Early Child Research Network, 1996). Children's social play was observed during free play and coded by criteria developed by Robinson et al(2003). Results showed differences in children's social play behaviors by social competence and differences in the transition patterns of children's social play level by social competence. Children with higher social competence showed a transition pattern moving toward cooperative-social interaction, whereas children with lower social competence showed a transition pattern moving backward to solitary or onlooker behavior.

Literature Review of Play Therapy Intervention for Children with ADHD (ADHD 아동에 대한 놀이치료적 중재논문 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the research literature on play therapy intervention for children with ADHD. Thirty-nine studies, conducted from 1995 to 2010, were analyzed. The results of the literature review are as follows: The most commonly studied subjects were elementary school children in grades 1-3. The most common subject selection method was to select ADHD tendency children. The most typical intervention setting used was a counseling center. The most frequent intervention was 11-15 sessions of group counseling. Pre-post experimental-control research designs were the most commonly used. In the analyzed studies, play therapy-game play therapy, CBPT, CCPT, sand play therapy, and theraplay- was used for ADHD children. The studies found that game play therapy and cognitive-behavior play therapy are effective for improving ADHD children's attention, impulsiveness, and self-control. The major game play therapy activities used were dart games, "Simon says" games, fishing games, dominoes, Jenga, Beat the Clock, the board game "Stop," and "Ice, break., ice, break." Based on these findings, this article presents implications and discussion for play therapy intervention for ADHD children.

  • The purpose of this study is presented playground space for early childhood facilities. Describes whether any development of children, and how to respond in accordance with each of the activities. The infants and toddlers life cycle is a continuation of play. Toddlers to play is the essence of life itself, through play, the world embracing and digestive, raising ideas and emotions expressed through play. It is time that paves the growth of infants age children. And equipped with personality, values, emotions, attitudes, play a very important role in this process. Play it delivers, it can not learning education. Sympathetic and experience through play, and be equipped to allow the personality, social, physical. So, we have an obligation required to provide adequate facilities and play so that children can grow properly. In this paper, from the limited play space and is listed on the importance alive to give the children a sense of space to get the sympathetic. In this paper, we performed a study is Performed a case studies of and domestic kindergarten and foreign kindergarten where the differences between the various lists and how to derive a plan for solving the problem by comparison and analysis were performed.

Young Children's Literacy Behavior in Dramatic Play: The Effects of Literacy-Enriched Play Settings and Teacher's Intervention (극놀이 영역의 환경구성 및 교사의 역할이 유아의 문해행동에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how the intervention of a literacy environment influences young children's literacy behavior in dramatic play. Four classrooms at S kindergarten and Y kindergarten in Seoul were randomly selected for this study. Each of the classrooms was designated as an experimental group: that is, experimental group A (38 children), experimental group B (34 children), experimental group C (35 children) and a Control group (40 children), respectively. Group C was provided with literacy materials, theme of dramatic play and teacher's intervention. Group B was provided with literacy materials and theme of dramatic play. Group A was provided with only literacy materials. It was found that the intervention of the literacy environment in dramatic play brought about an increase in children's total literacy behavior, increase in the frequency of children's reading behavior, and increase in the frequency and function of children's writing.

Structural Relationship among Parent's Play Participation, Young Children's Playfulness, Self-regulation and Happiness (부모의 놀이참여와 유아의 놀이성, 자기조절능력 및 행복감 간의 구조적 관계)

  • This study examined the structural relationships among parent's play participation, children's playfulness, self-regulation and happiness. In this Study, subjects were 274 children who were 4 through 5 years old. The participants included 274 preschoolers' parents and their teachers in D city. The parents completed questionnaires regarding parent's play participation with their children and children's self-regulation. The teachers completed questionnaires regarding preschoolers' happiness and playfulness. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, pearson correlation analysis and mediation analysis based on structural equation modeling with SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 23.0 program. Also, specific indirect effects were analyzed using AMOS user-defined estimand function. The primary results of this study were as follows. 1) The parent's play participation had an influence upon children's playfulness and self-regulation. 2) The children's playfulness had an influence upon children's self-regulation and happiness. 3) The children's self-regulation had an influence upon children's happiness. 4) Between the parent's play participation and children's happiness were mediated by the children's playfulness and self-regulation. This study revealed that parent's play participation, children's playfulness and self-regulation need to be considered simultaneously to explain the level of the children's happiness. The results highlight the structural relationships among parent's play participation, children's playfulness, self-regulation and happiness.

Differences in Children's Constructive Play Quality by Teacher's Play Teacing Efficacy (교사의 놀이교수 효능감과 유아의 연령에 따른 구성놀이 질의 차이)

  • Subjects were two teachers each with higher or with lower play teaching efficacy, and the 111 four and five-year-old children they taught. Using naturalistic observation, children's constructive play was videotaped and transcribed for 60 minutes on ten consecutive days in each classroom. Play was analyzed by level of constructive play, continuous length of play, variety of materials, enrichment of activities, and coherence of content. Constructive play of children whose teachers had higher efficacy in teaching play showed longer continuous play, used a higher variety of materials, and their play had more creative integrity. Five-year-olds exhibited longer continuous play, used a larger variety of play materials, more enrichment of play activity, and more coherence in play contents than four-year-olds.

The Effects of Group Game Play Program on ADHD-Liked Children's Executive Functione-fla (집단게임놀이 프로그램이 ADHD성향 아동의 실행기능에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of group game play program on ADHD-liked children’s executive function. The game play program was implemented for children in experiment group to find out the effect of the group game play program on ADHD-liked executive function. The subjects of this study were 12 children (4th year elementary students), showing ADHD characteristics. 6 were put in experiment group and other 6 were put in control group randomly. The effectiveness of group game play on ADHD children’s executive function are as followings: The attention ability, behavior inhibition ability, cognitive flexibility of children in experiment group was improved more than in control group. It is concluded that group game play program is effective for ADHD-liked children’s executive function.

The Study on Parents' Perceptions of and Implementation of Children's Right to Play (유아의 놀이 권리에 대한 부모의 인식과 실행에 관한 연구)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to gain basic information for parental education by investigating parent's implementation and perception of children's right to play. Methods: The subjects of this study were 458 parents who have a child in kindergarten or 1st grade of elementary school in J city. The research tool used in this study, the Parent's Perception of and Implementation for Children's Right to Play(PPICRP), was developed by researchers. PPICRP is a 5type rating scale questionnaire which includes the selection of a space for play, play time, play mate, instrument, etc. The data were analyzed by using the SPSS 18.0 program. Results: The results showed that the parent's implementation for children's right to play was lower than the parent's perception of it except for the selection of play instrument. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study imply that there is a need for parent education which contains concepts and stresses the importance of play, which implement children's right to play. The unexpected result in the play instrument, the excessive organization of the play by adults, and the difference of parent's implementation according to the gender of their children were further discussed.

Children's Intersubjectivity in Social Dramatic Play: Relationships to Play Role Types and Peer Competence (사회극 극놀이에 나타나는 유아의 상호주관성과 역할유형 및 또래간 유능성간의 관계)

  • The social dramatic play of seventeen five-year-old children was videotaped and transcribed for analysis of Intersubjectivity and play role types. The teachers of the children rated children's social competence. Results showed that children's Intersubjectivity in social dramatic play was related to their play role types and peer competence. Children with a high level of Intersubjectivity play leading roles during social dramatic play and were rated as socially competent by their teachers. The results were discussed from the Vygotskian perspective. Implications for early childhood teachers and suggestions for future studies were provided.

  • The purpose of this study is to qualitatively examine the play experience and meaning of young children who enjoy the appreciation of picture books based on the 2019 revised Nuri curriculum centered on children and play, and furthermore, various play imaginations and ideas in picture books are realized by T robot. The collected various play cases were analyzed by arranging them into play flow diagrams centering on each picture book, and based on this, the meaning of play was discovered by categorizing play through reading the meaning of play. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that it supports <Picture Book-linked Young Children's Robot Play>, a play experience in which various playful imaginations in picture books are realized by young children's robots, and examines the experience of creatively creating play led by young children in depth, and furthermore, it is valuable in providing a basis for the direction of play-centered SW education centered on young children.
