한국형 보육교사 직무만족척도개발을 위한 타당화 예비연구 (Preliminary Study for Validation of Development of Korean Childcare Teacher's Job Satisfaction Scale)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a "Korean Childcare Teacher's Job Satisfaction Scale"(KCTJSS) and to evaluate its reliability and validity. KCTJSS was 72 items and 6 point Likert scale. Participants consisted of 211 childcare teachers by purposive sampling. Results were as follows: First, Exploratory factor analysis resulted in 40 items composed of 6 factors : The principal's childcare center operation system, working environments and welfare, social recognition, amount of work and time management, relationships with co-workers, relationships with parents. Second, the confirmatory factor analysis supported a 6 factor structure. Third, Criterion-related validity was confirmed by significant correlations of the present scale with Early Childhood Job Satisfaction Survey(Jorde-Bloom, 1989). Fourth, the reliability of factors using Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ appeared high, ranging from .83 to .93.

어머니의 보육지식과 어머니-교사 의사소통과의 관계 (Maternal Knowledge of Childcare and Its Effects on Mother-Teacher Communication)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between maternal knowledge of childcare and mother-teacher communication. The participants consisted of 240 mothers whose children were enrolled at seven childcare centers in Seoul. Respondents were asked to complete a series of questionnaires reporting the important aspects of their childcare, the frequency of mother-teacher communication, and individual characteristics. Information about childcare's structural and procedural characteristics were obtained through interviews with the directors of those centers. The results indicated that mothers only answered 45.5% of questions correctly, and reported a lack of knowledge about childcare services in their respective centers. In particular, mothers didn't have information about caregivers (e.g, education, year of job experience, license, etc). Actual maternal knowledge was significantly correlated with the length of time which mothers were associated with their childcare and the frequency of mother-teacher communication. In addition, there were significant differences in the maternal knowledge regarding childcare services according to mothers' educational level. The results of this study imply that effective parent education programs are needed for mothers who want to enroll their children in childcare centers.

우리나라 지역별 자녀 양육환경과 출산율에 관한 실증분석 (Childcare Facilities, Private Education Expenses, and Birth Rate: Evidence from Korean Regional Data)

  • 저출산 현상은 우리 사회가 당면한 가장 심각한 사회문제의 하나이다. 본 연구는 2009년 기준 우리나라 232개 시/군/구에 대한 횡단면 자료를 사용해 보육시설과 사교육비와 관련된 두가지 질문에 답하고자 한다. 첫 번째로, 본 연구는 각 지역별 보육시설/사교육시설의 사업체 수 또는 종사자 수가 해당지역의 출산율에 미친 영향을 분석한다. 두 번째로, 보육시설의 규모를 보육시설의 품질 또는 신뢰성을 평가하는 기준으로 설정하고 보육시설의 규모가 출산율에 미친 효과를 분석한다. 본 연구는 해당 지역의 사업체 당 종사자 수 평균값과 전체 보육시설 중 종사자 수가 10인 미만인 사업체가 점하는 비율로 보육시설의 규모를 측정한다. 본 연구의 분석결과에 따르면, 사업체 수나 종사자 수로 측정한 보육시설의 양적 규모는 출산율에 긍정적 영향을 미친 반면, 사교육시설로 측정한 사교육비 규모는 출산율에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 못했다. 또한 보육시설의 질적 측면, 즉 신뢰할 수 있는 보육시설의 존재가 출산율의 제고에 효과적일 수 있다는 점이 확인되었다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 출산율 제고를 위한 정책방안과 관련해 중요한 시사점을 제공한다.

영유아 자녀돌봄 자원 공급 수준에 따른 지역사회 유형화 (Categorization of Community Types Based on Childcare Resource Supply for Infants and Toddlers)

  • The aim of this study was to identify community-level childcare infrastructure for infants and toddlers and to use the data to categorize community types using K-Means cluster analysis with spatial constraints. Seven indicators of childcare resource supply were used for the purpose of categorization and the results revealed six types of community cluster. Communities in the Type 1 cluster provided sufficient parks, libraries, and kindergartens, but lacked pediatric facilities and private education institutions. This cluster comprised small cities and rural areas in Gangwon-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Jeollabuk-do. The Type 2 cluster had numerous pediatric facilities and childcare centers, but lacked other childcare infrastructure. This comprised small and medium-sized cities in Gyeonggi-do, some areas in Chungcheongnam-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Gangwon-do bordering Gyeonggi-do. The Type 3 cluster comprised Busan, Daegu, and Gyeongsangnam-do, but had insufficient childcare infrastructure as a whole. Type 4 had the largest number of childcare centers, libraries, and private education institutions and comprised Jeollabuk-do, areas near Gwangju, and Jeju-do. Type 5, consisting of Seoul, Incheon and the southern part of Gyeonggi-do had many pediatric facilities and certified childcare centers, but lacked other childcare infrastructure. Type 6, being the rural areas and islands in Jeollanam-do, had sufficient kindergartens, but other infrastructure was insufficient. These results are expected to provide local government with policy implications in terms of relieving the childcare burden on residents with infants and toddlers.

보육교사의 감정표현불능증, 소진, 성인애착이 유아훈육방식에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Alexithymia, Burnout-, and Adult Attachment on Child Disciplinary Style of Childcare Teachers)

  • Thise study is designed to demonstrate the influence of socio-demographic variables(age, education, career history and marital Status), alexithymia, burnout, and adult attachment on child disciplinary styles; childcare teachers in charge of young children were studied. The purpose of the study is to provide information about the desirable disciplinary styles of a childcare teacher in order to strengthen the quality of childcare education. The data collected in this study showed the following results: First, the age, education, career history and marital status of a teacher produced good results statistically irrelevant to the their child disciplinary style. Second, a high level of negative correlation was found among alexithymia, burnout, adult attachment and the child disciplinary style of a childcare teacher. In other words, if a teacher shows a high level of alexithymia, burnout, and adult attachment, it is likely that the teacher's child disciplinary style is coercive and neglect, and the teacher tends to give an illogical explanation. Third, in contrast to the other variables, burnout and adult attachment have a greater effect on child disciplinary style than alexithymia.

코로나 19 팬데믹 상황에서 보육교사의 감염병 지식, 건강통제소재, 자기효능감과 감염병 예방행위 실천의 관계 (Correlation of Childcare Teachers' Knowledge of Infectious Diseases, Health Locus of Control, Self-Efficacy, and Practice of Disease Prevention during the COVID-19 Pandemic)

  • Objective: This study aims to provide empirical data on epidemic management measures and childcare teacher education in centers. It examines the relationship between infectious disease knowledge, health control knowledge, and self-efficacy in relation to the practice of preventive behaviors among infant and toddler teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The study involved 300 teachers from Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 23.0. Results: The study found that there is a positive relationship between childcare teachers' knowledge of infectious diseases and their engagement in preventive behavior. Additionally, internal control among the health care factors of childcare teachers also showed a positive relationship. Furthermore, the study revealed that the self-efficacy of childcare teachers is positively associated with their practice of preventive behavior. Overall, infectious disease knowledge, internal control measures, and self-efficacy were all found to have positive relationships with preventive behavior. Conclusion/Implications: This study proposes a new direction for future teacher education by highlighting the effectiveness of psychological factors, specifically health control materials and self-efficacy, in addition to focusing on improving infectious disease knowledge.

부모의 육아종합지원센터와 유아교육진흥원의 가정양육지원 서비스 제공에 대한 적합성 인식 (Parent's Perception of the Suitability of the Childcare Support Center and the Early Childhood Education Promotion Institute for the Providing Home Childcare Support Services)

  • Objective: This study aims to analyze parents' perception of the suitability of the 'Childcare Support Center (C.S.C.)' and the 'Early Childhood Education Promotion Institute(E.C.E.P.I)' as home care support service providers. Methods: The goals and content of the home parenting support service offered by the C.S.C. and E.C.E.P.I. were analyzes based on information collected from their websites, publications, and various promotional materials. There were categories into 18 services across 5 categories. Responses of 421 parents, gathered through a questionnaire developed with reference to previous studies, were collected and analyzed. Results: Parents reported high degree of suitability for the organizations they used. Those familiar with both institutions found E.C.E.P.I. more suitable overall. However the C.S.C. was considered particularity suitable by parents of children aged 0-2 years and by those with no prior experience with either institution. The perceived suitability of the two institutions varied by service, depending on factors such as the age group of the children, whether the parents lived in the metropolitan area, and whether they were part of a double-income household. Conclusion/Implications: These findings have practical implications for development of integrated policies for early childhood education and childcare, which should take into account parents' perceptions of the functions of institutions.

장애아 통합어린이집 일반교사의 장애인식 및 보육경험에 관한 연구 (Study on Childcare Teachers' Changes of Disability Awareness and Childcare Experience through the Training for Disability Awareness)

  • 본 연구는 변화하는 장애아동의 보육환경 속에서 장애통합 어린이집의 일반 보육교사가 장애인식개선교육을 전후로 어떻게 장애인식 및 장애아 보육실천의 변화를 경험하고 있는지 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 인천시의 국공립 장애통합 어린이집 일반 보육교사 9명이었고, 3인씩 3그룹의 포커스면담 및 개별 면담을 통해 경험을 듣고 분석하였다. 분석결과 일반보육교사들은 장애인식개선교육 전에 장애아동에 대한 무지함과 막막함, 두려움을 호소하였고, 오히려 비장애아동의 편견 없는 태도로부터 배우기도 하였다. 장애아동에 대한 이해의 필요와 지식에 대한 요구가 높았으며 장애인식개선교육에 자발적이고 적극적으로 참여하였다. 교육에 참여한 이후 교사들은 장애아동에 대한 인식변화 및 보육실천의 방식변화를 나타냈다. 인식과 관련해서는 교사들은 장애아동을 더 이해하고 관심을 갖게 되었으며 비장애아동과 대등하게 대하고자 노력하게 되었다. 보육실천과 관련해서는 비장애아동과 장애아동 모두와 협력적 파트너쉽을 통해서 함께 통합프로그램을 실천하였고, 비장애아동에게 장애이해 교육을 제공하기도 하였고, 상황에 따라서 부분적 통합보육을 탄력적으로 실시하는 변화를 보였다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 보육현장에서 장애인식개선교육과 관련한 일반 보육교사의 경험에 대하여 해석하고 논의하였으며 장애인식개선교육이 나아가야 할 방향에 대해서도 논의 하였다.

어린이집 보육환경이 보육교사의 보육효능감에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Child Care Environment on Child Care Efficacy of Child Care Teachers)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the childcare environment on childcare efficacy of childcare teachers. Methods: The participants in the study were 274 childcare teachers working at childcare centers. The childcare environment was divided into physical environment and the work support environment. Results: The results of this study are as follows. First, there was a significant difference in childcare efficacy depending on the age and career of the childcare teacher. Second, the childcare environment of the childcare center showed a static correlation with the childcare efficacy of the childcare teacher in both the physical environment and the work support environment. Third, the physical environment of the day care center had an affect on child care efficacy. Among the subfactors, furniture for routine care, play and learning had a significant impact. Fourth, the work support environment of the childcare center had an affect on childcare efficacy of the childcare teacher. Among the subfactors, staff interaction and cooperation, and opportunities for professional growth had a significant impact. Conclusion/Implications: In order to enhance childcare efficacy of childcare teachers, a high quality childcare environment should be established.

  • Low birth rate problem in Korea has been mainly derived from the increasing number of female employment and the change of consciousness of female. According to the recent report, some other causes of low birth rate are from the difficulty of using childcare facilities with quality services and the relative lack of quantities of the facilities. The basic principle of childcare includes protection, education, nutrition, safety, service to parents, and correlation with community. Childcare has been deemed to be the social system even to guarantee the parents' right of work. Even though a lot of progress has been made in childcare facilities by changes for a long period of time, the research on the actual condition shows that there are relatively little changes of the space organization of the childcare facilities reflecting characteristics of community and developmental characteristics of infants and children. Now a days it has been appeared as a social problem that childcare has to be needed as a part of systematic education program for such an important infant era.
