Objectives: This study measures nursing students' ability to recognize child abuse and identifies the factors related to varying levels of recognition. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, data were collected from 370 third and fourth year nursing students using a self-reported questionnaire during November 15-30, 2011. The measuring tool for child abuse recognition used in the study was developed by Ozasa (2011) and is composed of 44 items including physical, mental, and sexual abuse, and neglect. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, two sample t-tests, and regression analysis were evaluated with the SPSS/PC ver20.0 program. Results: Nursing students were concerned about child abuse(85.4%), but knew little about related laws and regulations(14.3%), and they had almost no formal education or training regarding how to recognize child abuse. They only 1.6% reported child abuse even if they encountered such incidents; however, they correctly recognized even infrequent incidents of child abuse. Recognition of sexual abuse ranked highest, while recognition of neglect ranked lowest. Those with higher levels of concern over child abuse showed higher recognition scores. Regression analysis revealed that physical abuse, mental abuse, and neglect had different related factors, while sexual abuse had none. Conclusion: Education and training on the subject of child abuse is strongly recommended in nursing curriculums so that nurses will be able to appropriately respond to and report suspected child abuse.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the factors influencing nursing students' intentions to report child abuse. Methods: The participants of this study were 151 nursing students who were currently enrolled in nursing departments in Korea and who were at least 18 years of age or older. This study used a descriptive cross-sectional design, and the data were collected from February 16, to March 13, 2023, using an online self-administered survey. The questionnaire included general characteristics, empathy ability, child rights recognition, child abuse perception, and intention to report child abuse. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, an independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé test, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS Statistics 29.0. Results: The intention to report child abuse showed statistically significant positive correlations with empathy ability (r=.23, p<.001), child rights recognition (r=.34, p<.001), and child abuse perception (r=.63, p<.001). In the multiple regression analysis, the factors significantly related to nursing students' intention to report child abuse were as follows: awareness of mandatory reporting (yes) (β=.16, p=.021) and child abuse perception (β=.56, p<.001). The explanatory power of these factors was 45.0% (F=20.03, p<.001). Conclusion: Considering the findings of this study, it is necessary to develop and implement educational programs for improving the perception of child abuse and thus enhancing nursing students' intention to report child abuse.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate nurses' perceptions on child abuse. Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, data were collected using a questionnaire and 217 nurses working in seven general hospitals were surveyed. The perception scale was divided into 4 subscales: physical, psychological, sexual abuse and neglect. Results: Nurses who suspected child abuse accounted for 18.1% of the nurses, and 41.9% of the nurses stated that they did not to report suspected child abuse. The nurses reported receiving only a little education about the prevention of child abuse. The mean score for perception on child abuse was high ($3.59{\pm}0.31$). Recognition of sexual abuse ranked highest, psychological abuse ranked lowest. Conclusion: The findings from this research provide baseline information for understanding nurses' perceptions on child abuse, and may help in the development of appropriate education programs that will enable nurses to report child abuse.

This study is a descriptive survey research aimed at examining the relationship between nursing college students' attitudes toward child corporal punishment, their Recognition of children's rights, and their intention to report child abuse. It also seeks to identify factors influencing the intention to report child abuse. Data were collected from April 1, 2023, to June 30, 2023, using a structured questionnaire administered to 194 nursing college students. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS/WIN 26.0 software and included descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Multiple Regression analysis. The research results showed a significant negative correlation between attitudes towards child corporal punishment and awareness of children's rights, and a positive correlation between awareness of children's rights and the intention to report child abuse. Attitudes towards child corporal punishment and the intention to report child abuse collectively explained 19% of the variance in the intention to report child abuse. Therefore, it is necessary to develop educational programs that allow prospective nurses, who have a legal obligation to report child abuse, to experience cases of child abuse, enhance their sensitivity to child abuse, and improve their intention to report child abuse.
I think it would be better to rewrite the Korean abstract. To analyze the personal characteristics of the participants and identify their perception of violence using the Q methodology, the scores of 20 parenting parents on 25 Q cards were statistically analyzed using forced normal distribution. There are three factors and from the most agreeable to the most disagreeable statements, they have shown their perception of violence. It was helpful in identifying parents' subjective perceptions and types of child abuse, and it suggested the need to define child abuse so that parents can have a correct perception of child abuse, rather than an abstract perception. In this perspective, the results of this study provide preliminary data for improving the recognition of parenting parents on child abuse.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the perception of child abuse by parents and early childhood teachers. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted with parents and early childhood teachers belonging to kindergarten in G district. The frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation were calculated using the SPSS 21.0 program, and the t-test and the ${\chi}^2$ test were used to obtain data on child abuse(physical, language, emotion and thinking, neglect, preventive measure, improvement plan). The results of this study are as follows: First, the difference of perception about child abuse was higher in early childhood teachers than parents. Recognition of subordinate content is neglected in both parents and early childhood teachers, body, emotion and thinking, and language. Second, parent awareness of child abuse prevention education and participatory seminar education was more perceived than subcontent of preventive measures. The awareness and satisfaction of child abuse preventive education, the awareness of the legal role and function of the child protection agency, the mandatory reporting of child abuse, and the perception of the obligor were more perceived by early childhood teachers. Third, the subcontracting of the child abuse improvement measures, the provision of child abuse preventive education and provision of data, the actual situation of child abuse through mass media and promotion of measures, expansion of child abuse prevention education using mass media, Teachers were more aware of education. These results are expected to provide basic data on understanding and recognition of the prevention of child abuse by parents and early childhood teachers.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to examine a attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavior control, intention to report child abuse and to identify predictors of emergency room (ER) nurses' intention to report child abuse cases. Methods: A total of 364 nurses in ER participated in this study. Data were collected by self-administered questionnaire and analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test or ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results: 84.1 % of emergency room nurses reported feeling of obligation to report child abuse. Attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavior control were positively correlated with intention to report child abuse. Intention to report child abuse was predicted by emergency room nurse's attitude, perceived behavior control, subjective norm, ER nurse career, and recognition as a reporting obligator. Conclusion: Child abuse education program should be developed to help ER nurses to report child abuse case and positive attitude toward reporting the cases.

This study conducted an online survey of university students based in Jeolla-do province from September 1 to 10, 2020 using Naver survey form to find out the perception and attitude of paramedic students about child abuse. A total of 293 students were studied, and the collected data was analyzed using SPSS WIN 20.0. The analysis of general characteristics, recognition of child abuse reporting obligations and activation plans, and awareness of child abuse education were calculated with frequency and percentage, and the degree of child abuse awareness was calculated by the average and standard deviation. Differences in perception of child abuse behavior based on the general characteristics of respondents were used T-test and ANOVA.
The study was intended to identify the factors that affect pediatric nurses' perception toward child abuse and their reporting attitude. The report rate was very low, only 3 (9.1%) of respondents. Most of them did not report, 30(90.9%), and the main causes of non-reporting were not-serious or lack of evidence. The recognition and experience of child abuse depending on the characteristics of nurses in pediatric wards showed a significant difference according to their academic background (X2=16.52, p=.011). The results of the review of the differences in the reported attitudes of child abuse nurses showed a significant difference in the age of nurses in the pediatric ward (X2=13.64, p=.034). Nurses in the pediatric ward are required to develop intervention programs and tools for assessing child abuse, and to provide education and systems for the prevention of child abuse, which will make it necessary for the universal reporting of cases against child abuse and the prevention of child abuse.
