추출용매에 따른 산초 (Zanthoxylum schnifolium)열매 추출물의 라디칼소거능과 항염증 효과 (Radical Scavenging and Anti-inflammation Activities from Different Extracts of Zanthoxylum schnifolium Fruits)

  • This study was presented to the physiological activities such as metal chelating capacity, superoxide dismutase-like activity, anti-inflammation, cytotoxicity from Zanthoxylum schnifolium fruit. The values for metal chelating capacity of 1 mg/mL of 70% EtOH and 70% MeOH extracts were 68% and 67%, respectively, it was shown that metal chelating capacity in a dose-dependent manner. The 100% EtOH and 100% MeOH extract exhibited strong superoxide dismutase-like activity. The highest SOD-like activity obtained from 100% EtOH was 51% at a concentration of 4 mg/mL. The all extracts of Zanthoxylum schnifolium fruit except $H_2O$ extract significantly decreased the concentration of LPS-induced NO in Raw 264.7 cells. The 100% EtOH, 100% MeOH and 70% EtOH extract represented the highest activity in the anti-inflammation properties in vitro. However, the 100% EtOH and 100% MeOH extracts has cytotoxicity in Raw 264.7 cells and it may affect cell viability. Conclude that 70% EtOH extract was most suitable for anti-inflammation. Our results revealed that the Zanthoxylum schnifolium fruit expected to physiological activities.

Antioxidant Activities of Various Solvent Extracts from Ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) Leaves

  • Water, methanol and ethanol extracts of ginseng leaves were assayed for total phenolics and flavonoids, ascorbic acid, cupric and ferrous ion chelating activities, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity, ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assay and ABTS radical cation decolourization (TEAC) assay for their antioxidant properties. The ethanol extract of ginseng leaves contained significantly (p<0.05) higher amounts of total phenolics and flavonoids (600.57 and 1701 mg/100 g) than methanol (374.43 and 1512.64 mg/100 g) and water extracts (248.30 and 680.05 mg/100 g). Among solvent extracts of ginseng leaves, the ethanol extract showed the most powerful antioxidant activities. However, the ferrous ion chelating activity of ginseng leaf extracts were lower than the cupric ion chelating ability. These differences in concentrations of key antioxidants among various solvent extracts seemed to be responsible for their differences in antioxidant activities. These results suggest that ethanol extract of ginseng leaves has the most effective antioxidant capacity compared to the methanol and water extracts tested in the present study. Thus, it can be applied for the effective extraction of functional material from ginseng leaves for the usage of pharmaceutical and/or food industries.

장미과 식물 줄기의 항산화 효과와 총 페놀류 함량에 관한 연구 (Study on the Antioxidant Effect and Total Phenolics Content in Rosaceae Plant Stem)

  • The antioxidant activities and total phenolics of four Rosaceae species Pourthiaea villosa (Thunb.) Decne, Sorbus commixta Hedlund, Sorbaria sorbifolia var. stellipila Maxim and Pyrus pyrifolia (Burm.f.) Nakai were determined. Phenolic content (polyphenol and flavonoid), radical scavenging activities [2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2-azino-bis (3-ethylnezthiazoline-6-sulfoic acid) (ABTS)] and ferrous ion chelating effect were evaluated. Total polyphenol and flavonoid contents were highest in Pourthiaea villosa (Thunb.) Decne and lowest in Pyrus pyrifolia (Burm.f.) Nakai. Phenolic contents of Pourthiaea villosa (Thunb.) Decne was $331.45{\pm}7.78$ and $90.4{\pm}3.5mg{\cdot}g^{-1}$. DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities were found to be lowest in Sorbus commixta Hedlund whereas Sorbaria sorbifolia var. stellipila Maxim and Pourthiaea villosa (Thunb.) Decne showed relatively good DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities. Ferrous ion chelating effect was highest in Pyrus pyrifolia (Burm.f.) Nakai ($1.05{\pm}0.04mg{\cdot}ml^{-1}$) and lowest in Sorbus commixta Hundlund ($4.22{\pm}0.71mg{\cdot}ml^{-1}$).

  • The preparation and luminescence characterization of yttrium oxide doped with trivalent europium phosphors by sol-gel method have been investigated. Aqueous metal nitrate solution was mixed with EDTA which was chosen by the most suitable material of sol-gel formation one of appled various chelating agents. we noticed that the samples when are heated with EDTA at a temperature of $100^{\circ}C$ for 1hrs, produced brownish and crisp powders due to condensation reaction on decomposition, dehydration and formation of sol-gel. Hence, when the powder pre-heated was then heated at $1200^{\circ}C$ for 3hrs in atmosphere, the luminescence characterization of resultant $Y_{2}O_{3}:Eu^{3+}$ phosphor was enhanced upto maximum 30% significantly than conventional method through increasing porous region and decreasing particle sizes.

  • The synthesis and luminescent properties of trivalent europium activated gadolinium oxide red phosphors by sol-gel process have been investigated. Aqueous metal nitrate solution was mixed with EDTA which was chosen by the most suitable material of sol-gel formation as chelating agents. We noticed that the samples when are heated with EDTA at a temperature of $100^{\circ}C$ for lhrs, produced brownish and crisp powders due to condensation reaction on decomposition, dehydration and formation of sol-gel. Hence, when the powder pre-heated at about $100^{\circ}C$ was then heated at $1200^{\circ}C$ for 3hrs in atmosphere, the luminescence properties of resultant $Gd_{2}O_{3}:Eu^{3+}$ phosphor was measured by SEM, FT-IT and brightness intensity was shown 20% higher than those prepared by conventional method and by other chelating agent.

몇가지 $^{99m}Tc$ 즉석표식(卽席標識)킷트 제조(製造)를 위(爲)한 실험연구(實驗硏究) (Experimental Studies on the Preparation of Some $^{99m}Tc$ Instant Labelling Kits)

  • Using stannous chloride, optimum conditions for $^{99m}Tc$ labelling of some scanning agents such as phytic acid (P A), dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA), and calcium diethylenetriaminepentaacetate (Ca-DPTA) were established. Methods of separation and identification of the labelled compounds were practiced by a paper- or thin layer- chromatography. Biodynamic studies of the compounds were also carried out. The results indicate that the molar ratios of the chelating agent and stannous chloride varies only with the concentrations of the chelating agents, and thus the amounts of the stannous chloride per labelling tube were nearly constant $(500\sim600{\mu}g)$ regardless the variation of the molar ratios. It suggests that the given experimental conditions require about $500{\mu}g$ of stannous chloride regardless of the chelating agents. Under alkaline pH, the labelling yields were drastically decreased due to the probable formation of colloidal tin compounds. Biodynamic data showed characteristic patterns with each compound indicating that they are all suitable for the relevant scanning applications.

미선나무 잎 추출물의 항산화 및 산화적 DNA 손상억제 활성 (Antioxidant Activities and Inhibitory Effect on Oxidative DNA Damage of extracts from Abeliophylli distichi Folium)

  • Objective : In this study, we demonstrate the protective effect on oxidative DNA damage of leaf extracts from Abeliophylli distichi Folium via its antioxidant activity for the establishment of new value for the herbal medicine. Methods : Abeliophylli distichi Folium leaves were extracted with hot-water and ethylacetate (EtOAC). The 1,1-diphenyl-2- picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical and hydroxyl scavenging assay and $Fe^{2+}$ chelating assay were performed for antioxidative effect and ${\varphi}$X-174 RF I DNA cleavage assay and intracellular DNA damage assay were used for inhibitory effect of intracellular DNA damage. Results : In DPPH, Hydroxyl radical scavenging activity and $Fe^{2+}$ chelating activity of EtOAC extracts were 94.72%, 62.88%, 41.13%, and hot-water extracts were 88.86%, 56.7%, 37.4% at 200 ${\mu}g/m{\ell}$, respectively. Also, those extracts showed protective effect of DNA damage against the oxidative stress. Conclusion : These results indicated that the leaf extracts of Abeliophylli distichi Folium can be used as a natural antioxidants, which effectively inhibits the oxidative DNA damage.

Corrosion in Oil well Stimulation Processes Caused by Different Chelating Agents Based on EDTA Compounds

  • Chelating solutions can be damaged by strong acids during oil production. To design effective corrosion inhibitors and other alternatives for corrosion control, it is important to understand not only the behavior of the system under operating condition but also the kinetics of electrochemical reactions during the corrosion process. In this study, the electrochemical behaviors of P-110 steel in aqueous fluids based on ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) compounds under various temperatures and hydrodynamic regime conditions were assessed. Electrochemical measurements were conducted using rotating disc electrodes manufactured. Electrolytes were prepared using aqueous compounds of EDTA like diammonium salt, disodium salt, and tetrasodium salt. Potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance, and mass loss tests were performed in order to assess the corrosion kinetic in electrolytes. Hydrodynamic effects were observed only in the cathodic polarization curve. This proves that hydrodynamic regime plays an important role in the corrosion of steel mainly in disodium and diammonium EDTA solutions. Two cathodic reactions controlled the corrosion process. However, oxygen level and pH of the electrolyte played the most important role in metal corrosion. Corrosion rates in those fluids were decreased drastically when oxygen concentration was reduced.

친환경 착제가 적용된 modified Fenton 공정을 이용한 BTEX로 오염된 지하수의 복원 (BTEX-contaminated Groundwater Remediation with Modified Fenton Reaction using Environmental Friendly Chelating Agent)

  • 본 연구에서는 modified Fenton 공정에서 Fe(II)과 Fe(III)에 대한 유 무기 착제의 효율성 평가를 위해 BTEX(benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene) 분해효율을 관찰하였다. 적용된 유 무기착제의 종류는 구연산과 피로인산을 선정하였다. Fe(III)과 구연산이 적용되어진 modified Fenton 공정에서, 구연산의 농도가 증가할수록 BTEX의 분해율이 감소하였지만, 피로인산의 경우에는 농도가 증가할수록 BTEX의 분해율이 증가하였다. 또한 Fe(III)이 적용되어진 modified Fenton 공정에서 무기착제인 피로인산이 적용되어진 경우, 유기착제인 구연산이 적용되어진 경우보다 상대적으로 높은 BTEX의 분해율을 나타내었다. Fe(II)에 유 무기 착제가 적용되어진 modified Fenton 공정을 비교한 결과, Fe(II)과 구연산의 몰비가 1:1일 때 pH 변화를 최소화시킴과 동시에 BTEX의 높은 분해율을 보였다. 결과적으로 과산화수소의 효율성, 철 침전물 생성여부, 오염물질 분해율 등이 고려되어질 때, 100 ppm의 벤젠분해를 위한 최적 Fe(II), 구연산 그리고 과산화수소의 농도 조건은 7 mM/7 mM/500 mM였다.

시설재배지에서 킬레이트제 처리가 양분 유효도와 배추생육에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Chelating Agents on the Grwoth of Chinese cabbage and Availability of Nutrients in Plastic Film House Soils)

  • 시설재배지 토양의 축적양분인 염류를 활용하기 위해 EC가 높은 토양에 여러 킬레이트제를 처리하여 토양의 화학성과 작물의 무기성분 흡수량을 비교 분석하였다. DTPA와 EDTA를 처리한 구에서 킬레이트제는 Ca, Mg, K, P등의 다량원소 뿐만 아니라 Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn 등의 미량원소와 킬레이트 하는 능력이 뛰어났다. 그러나, 토양의 ECDTPA를 처리한 는 EDTA를 처리한 토양보다 낮아졌다. 킬레이트제가 처리된 토양에서 생육한 배추의 무기성분 흡수량을 살펴본 결과 DTPA 0.5 mM 처리한 구에서 배추의 T-N, $P_2O_5$, $K_2O$, 그리고 Fe의 흡수량은 다른 처리구보다 높았다. 이로부터 시설재배지의 집적된 양분을 킬레이트화하여 작물의 양분 이용성을 증대하는 데 효과적인 킬레이트제는 DTPA이며, 적정한 농도는 0.5 mM로 나타났다.
