The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of new streptococcus detection system which used monoclonal antibody against Streptococcus mutans. 92 children aged between 2 and 8 were involved in this experiment and their saliva samples were collected for testing. Streptococcus mutans were measured by both monoclonal antibody-based detecting system (Saliva-$check^{TM}$ Mutans) and dip slide detecting system($Dentocult^{TM}$-SM). The results showed that Saliva-$check^{TM}$ Mutans levels had a significant correlation with dfs rate of subjects and the two test kits, Saliva-$check^{TM}$ Mutans and $Dentocult^{TM}$-SM were shown to have a good correlation although they were based on different mechanism.

Recently, a few image-processing based mobile urine testers have actively been studied since the urine-analysis result can be available to the user in real time immediately after the test is done. However, the accuracy of test result can be severely degraded due to variable illumination environments and a variety of manners to capture the image with a camera embedded in the smartphone according to different users. This paper proposes the Check4Urine system, a novel smartphone-based portable urine-analysis tester and provides three techniques to improve such a performance degradation problem robust to various test environments and disturbances, which are the compensation algorithm to correct the varying illumination effect, an urine strip detection algorithm robust to edge loss of the object image, and the color decision algorithm based on the pre-processed reference table. Experimental results show that the proposed Check4Urine system increases the accuracy of urine-analysis by 20-50% at various test conditions, compared with the existing image-processing based mobile urine tester.
This paper presents the monitoring method of machining error and quality check to improve the productivity of boring manufacturing process. Machining error usually appears as the offset of spatial location of actual cutting path compared to ideal cutting path. In order to monitor an error of workpiece, multiple factors affecting quality of boring, such as distortion of workpiece, clamping error, radial rotation error of the spindle and motion error of machine tools, were took into account. To verify the productive quality, we propose the quality check system. The system based on IT convergence analyzes the process error rate and saves the analyzed data in memory. Also, these play important roles in detecting an inferior production goods and can decrease the production cost and loss of bearing.

In this paper, we studied a method of wirelessly checking up the POD for captive flight tests which is performed during the development of guided weapons systems. The wireless power transfer module, the power distribution device, and the battery pack were designed to wirelessly power the captive flight test POD, and the communication device was designed to enable wireless communication between the POD and the check-up device. The communication device was designed to enable WiFi, IR communication, and laser diode communication, so that various communication methods could be tested. Through the performance test, it was confirmed that power was stably supplied to the captive flight test POD, and the wireless communication performance was verified by measuring the delay time and error rate. As a result, by using our system the POD check-up for the captive flight test was performed wirelessly and the data of the captive equipment could be obtained effectively.

The reliable operation of a swing check valve in the main feed water system of a power plant is most essential for successful shout-down process. A failure to close the valve at proper time often leads to the instability of the main feed water system, or even to an emergency stop of the power plant. In reality it is a very difficult task to monitor the behavior of a swing check valve. Furthermore it is impossible to see the motion of the valve. In this work two measurements were carried out simultaneously to determine the precise valve closure time. The dynamic pressure measurements were made at the inlet and outlet regions of the swing check valve. The transient vibration of the valve housing in the direction of water flow was also measured, which enabled the measurement of the transient vibration of the valve housing near valve closure. By comparing the results produced from these measurements the precise valve closure time could be determined. By carrying out order tracking technique using the dynamic pressure signals and pump rpm signal, the complicated dynamic problems inside the main feed water system can be more easily dealt with. This measurement scheme might be implemented in a power plant on a real-time basis without much difficulty. If this could be implemented, valuable information essential for shut-down operations can readily be passed on to the main control room. The feasibility of this implementation was demonstrated by this experimental work.
To reduce swine production costs, a slaughter check system has been developed in countries with an advanced swine industry. Evaluation of lung lesions in carcasses is a critical part of the slaughter check system. This study was performed to collect background information for use in developing a slaughter check system in Korea. Lung tissues and their gross images were collected from slaughterhouses in Gyeonggi-do, Korea. Scoring of the gross lung lesions was performed on the lung images. Histopathologic examination was conducted to classify the pulmonary lesions as bronchopneumonia or interstitial pneumonia. Scores of the gross lung lesions were significantly different between bronchopneumonia and interstitial pneumonia groups (p < 0.001). A 90% confidence interval of gross lung lesion scores was established for the bronchopneumonia group, and the lesion scoring had a sensitivity of 100% and specificity of 77.3%. The gross lung lesion scoring test was subjected to a diagnostic distinction evaluation by examining the receiver operating characteristic curve and was appraised as having good discrimination for bronchopneumonia. Establishment of a gross lung lesion scoring test for the diagnosis of bronchopneumonia could be valuable as a screening test of macroscopic bronchopneumonia in swine slaughter check system.
In this paper we design an irregular low-density parity-check (LDPC) code for a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system. The considered MIMO system is minimum mean square error soft-interference cancellation (MMSE-SIC) detector. The MMSE-SIC detector and the LDPC decoder exchange soft information and consist a turbo iterative detection and decoding receiver. Extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) charts are used to obtain the edge degree distribution of the irregular LDPC code which is optimized for the input-output transfer chart of the MMSE-SIC detector. It is shown that the performance of the designed LDPC code is much better than that of conventional LDPC code optimized for the AWGN channel.
The COMS(Communication, Ocean & Meteorological Satellite) is the geostationary satellite which will be performing three main objectives such as meteorological service, ocean monitoring and Ka-band satellite communications. This paper reports on the hardware architecture of the system electrical ground support equipment(EGSE) for the COMS satellite. EGSE is used to check out satellite during the development prior to lunch. The EGSE represented in this paper consist of two parts. First, I will deal with the OCOE(Overall Check Out Equipment) system which controls and operates the all EGSE system. In second part, we will introduce the SCOE(Specific Check Out Equipment) systems which can test the specific subsystems of the COMS satellite.
In this paper, an asynchronous nonvolatile memory module using a self-diagnosis function was designed. For the system to work, a lot of data must be input/output, and memory that can be stored is required. The volatile memory is fast, but data is erased without power, and the nonvolatile memory is slow, but data can be stored semi-permanently without power. The non-volatile static random-access memory is designed to solve these memory problems. However, the non-volatile static random-access memory is weak external noise or electrical shock, data can be some error. To solve these data errors, self-diagnosis algorithms were applied to non-volatile static random-access memory using error correction code, cyclic redundancy check 32 and data check sum to increase the reliability and accuracy of data retention. In addition, the possibility of application to an asynchronous non-volatile storage system requiring reliability was suggested.
This paper presents a study on the design and implementation of modulized I/O buffer control system for large capacity cable check. A 8bit I/O buffer basic module which has feedback loops with input and output buffers is simulated in PSpice and implemented with logic gates. This system is composed of 18 sub-boards which have 3 channels of 32bit data buses, and of a main board with MPC860 microprocessor.
