Facile synthesis of ZnBi2O4-graphite composites as highly active visible-light photocatalyst for the mineralization of rhodamine B

  • Novel highly active visible-light photocatalysts in the form of zinc bismuth oxide ($ZnBi_2O_4$) and graphite hybrid composites were prepared by coupling via a co-precipitation method followed by calcination at $450^{\circ}C$. The asprepared $ZnBi_2O_4$-graphite hybrid composites were tested for the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) solutions under visible-light irradiation. The existence of strong electronic coupling between the two components within the $ZnBi_2O_4$-graphite heterostructure suppressed the photogenerated recombination of electrons and holes to a remarkable extent. The prepared composite exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity, leading to more than 93% of RhB degradation at an initial concentration of $50mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ with 1.0 g catalyst per liter in 150 min. The excellent visible-light photocatalytic mineralization of $ZnBi_2O_4-1.0graphite$ in comparison with pristine $ZnBi_2O_4$ could be attributed to synergetic effects, charge transfer between $ZnBi_2O_4$ and graphite, and the separation efficiency of the photogenerated electrons and holes. The photo-induced $h^+$ and the superoxide anion were the major active species responsible for the photodegradation process. The results demonstrate the feasibility of $ZnBi_2O_4-1.0graphite$ as a potential heterogeneous photocatalyst for environmental remediation.

  • In this study, performance of 2 pure hydrocarbons R290 and R1270 was measured in an attempt to substitute R22 under 3 different temperature conditions. They were tested in a refrigerating bench tester with a hermetic rotary compressor. The test bench provided about 3.5 kW capacity and water and water/glycol mixture were employed as the secondary heat transfer fluids. All tests were conducted under the same external conditions resulting in the average saturation temperatures of $7/45^{\circ}C$ and $-7/41^{\circ}C$ and $-21/28^{\circ}C$ in the evaporator and condenser, respectively. Test results show that the coefficient of performance (COP) of these refrigerants is up to 11.54% higher than that of R22 in all temperature conditions. Compressor discharge temperatures were reduced by $14{\sim}31^{\circ}C$ with these fluids. There was no problem with mineral oil since the mixtures were mainly composed of hydrocarbons. The amount of charge was reduced up to 58% as compared to R22. Overall, these fluids provide good performance with reasonable energy savings without any environmental problem and thus can be used as long term alternatives for residential air-conditioning and heat pumping application.

인적자원 아웃소싱의 현황분석에 관한 연구 (The Study about analyzing the Present Situation of Human Resource Outsourcing)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 상장기업과 코스닥기업을 중심으로 인적자원 아웃소싱 정도의 실태조사를 통하여 그 현황을 파악하는데 1차적 목적을 두었으며, 상장기업과 코스닥기업의 인적자원 아웃소싱의 활성화에 유용한 기초 자료를 제공하기 위한 것이다. 필요한 자료 수집을 위해 2005년 8연 1일부터 2006년 3월 31일까지 조직단위로 상장기업 650개, 코스닥기업 850개 총 1,500개 기업체에 대해 인적자원 아웃소싱에 관한 설문조사를 행하였다. 현황분석에 관한 연구결과 의하면 첫째, 인적자원 아웃소싱이 도입된 분야는 교육훈련이 가장 높으며, 다음은 인사 정보시스템, 임직원 모집과 선발 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 인적자원 아웃소싱으로 외부에 이전되는 업무는 복잡하고 특수한 업무인 기획 및 설계기능 보다는 일상적이고 정형적인 업무로써 위험부담이 없는 진행 및 운영기능이 먼저 외부화 되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같은 시사점을 제공한다. 첫째, 인적자원 아웃소싱 정도가 아직 다른 영역 보다 상대적으로 낮으며 활성화를 위한 전략적 운영이 필요하다. 둘째, 인적자원 아웃소싱의 활성화를 위하여 먼저 일상적이고 정형적인 단순업무를 위험부담 없이 운영해 본 후 발생된 문제점을 보완하여 복잡하고 비정형적인 핵심업무까지 확대시켜 나갈 수 있다.

평판형 태양 전지의 광학 및 전기적 특성 최적화를 위한 에미터 전극 설계 연구 (Emitter Electrode Design to Optimize the Optical and Electrical Characteristics of Planar Solar Cells)

  • 본 연구에서는 기본적인 평면 태양 전지 구조에 1차원 주기를 가지는 에미터 전극 배치를 통해 광학 및 전기적 효율을 최적화하는 설계방법을 제안한다. 에미터 전극의 주기가 줄어들면 애퍼처 비율이 감소해 빛 흡수율이 줄어들어 태양 전지 성능 저하에 영향을 끼친다. 본 연구에서는 시뮬레이션을 통해 가장 간단한 평판형 태양 전지 구조 내에서 에미터 전극 배열의 최적안을 제시하였다. 광학적 측면에서 에미터 전극이 없이 광흡수층 전면에서의 광흡수를 하는 레퍼런스 소자와 성능이 유사한 조건을 도출했다. 그리고 광흡수 및 전기적 효율 측면을 모두 고려하여 가장 효과적인 전극 구조를 제안하였다. 본 연구 결과는 광전 변환으로 생성된 전하를 전극으로 가장 효율적으로 전달할 수 있는 구조를 제안함으로써, 대체 에너지원에서 큰 비중을 차지하고 있는 태양 전지의 활용성을 높이는데 기여할 것이다.

  • 이차원 탄소 동소체인 그래핀은 기존 재료보다 우수한 기계적, 전기적 특성을 지니고 있다. 특히, 그래핀의 전하이동도는 실리콘 대비 100배가량 높다고 알려져 차세대 전자소자의 핵심재료로 각광을 받고 있다. 하지만, 그래핀은 외부 환경의 변화에 매우 민감하여 수분 혹은 산소에 취약하여 그래핀 기반 전자소자의 안정성이 취약하다는 단점이 존재하기에 이를 해결하기 위해 다양한 시도가 이뤄지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 그래핀 전계효과 트랜지스터의 절연막을 전사시에 사용되는 고분자 층의 표면 에너지를 조절하여 안정성을 크게 향상시키는 연구를 수행하였다. 절연층으로 쓰인 고분자의 표면 에너지가 낮아짐에 따라 물 분자 혹은 산소와 같은 대기중의 불순물 흡착을 효과적으로 제어함으로써, 안정성을 향상시킬 수 있었다.

스컬용융법에 의한 CaZrO3:Pr3+ 형광체 합성 및 특성분석 (Synthesis and characterization of CaZrO3:Pr3+ phosphor by skull melting method)

  • 페로브스카이트 구조를 가지는 Ca1-xZrO3:xPr 형광체를 스컬용융법으로 합성하였다. 합성한 형광체의 결정구조, 형태 및 광학적 특성은 XRD, SEM, 자외선 형광반응 및 광발광을 통해 분석하였다. XRD 측정에서는 CaZrO3:Pr3+의 단결정이 페로브스카이트 구조의 사방정계로 분석되었다. 합성된 형광체는 254 nm의 UV 광에 의해 여기 될 수 있고 방출 스펙트럼 결과는 506, 536 및 548 nm에서 전하전이 3P03H4, 3P13H53P03H5로 인해 CaZrO3:Pr3+는 녹색 발광이 우세하였다.

석영 기판 위에 증착된 NaNbO3:Eu3+ 형광체 박막의 특성에 열처리 온도가 미치는 영향 (Effect of Annealing Temperature on the Properties of NaNbO3:Eu3+ Phosphor Thin Films Deposited on Quartz Substrates)

  • NaNbO3:Eu3+ phosphor thin films were grown on quartz substrates by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering at a growth temperature of 100 ℃, with subsequent annealing at temperatures of 800, 900, and 1000 ℃. The effects of annealing temperature on the structural, morphological, and optical properties of the thin films were investigated. The NaNbO3:Eu3+ sputtering target was synthesized by a solid-state reaction of raw materials Na2CO3, Nb2O5, and Eu2O3. The X-ray diffraction patterns exhibited that the thin films had two mixed phases of NaNbO3 and Eu2O3. Surface morphologies were investigated by using field emission-scanning electron microscopy and indicated that the grains of the thin film annealed at 1000 ℃ showed irregular shapes with an average size of approximately 300 nm. The excitation spectra of Eu3+-doped NaNbO3 thin film consisted of a strong charge transfer band centered at 304 nm in the range of 240-350 nm and two weak peaks at 395 and 462 nm, respectively, resulting from the 7F05L6 and 7F05H2 transitions of Eu3+ ions. The emission spectra under excitation at 304 nm exhibited an intense red band centered at 614 nm and two weak bands at 592 and 681 nm. As the annealing temperature increased from 800 ℃ to 1000 ℃, the intensities of all the emission bands and the band gap energies gradually increased. These results indicate that the higher annealing temperature enhance the luminescent properties of NaNbO3:Eu3+ thin films.

Preparation of Bi/Bi2MoO6 Plasmonic Photocatalyst with High Photocatalytic Activity Under Visible Light Irradiation

  • Bi metal deposited on $Bi_2MoO_6$ composite photocatalysts have been successfully synthesized via a simple reduction method at room temperature with using $NaBH_4$ as the reducing agent. The photocatalytic activity of the composite was evaluated by degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) and bisphenol A (BPA) solution under visible light. The rate constant of $Bi/Bi_2MoO_6$ composite to RhB is 10.8 times that of $Bi_2MoO_6$, and the degradation rate constant of BPA is 6.9 times of that of $Bi_2MoO_6$. Nitrogen absorption-desorption isotherm proved that the increase of specific surface area is one of the reasons for the improvement of photocatalytic degradation activity of $Bi/Bi_2MoO_6$ composites. The higher charge transfer efficiency of $Bi/Bi_2MoO_6$ is found through the characterization of the photocurrent and impedance, which are attributed to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect produced by the introduction of the metal Bi monomer in the composite. Free radical capture experiments proved that cavitation is the main active species. Based on the above conclusions, a possible mechanism of photocatalytic degradation is proposed.

  • The effects of activator ion on the structural, morphological, and optical properties of $LaNbO_4:RE^{3+}$ (RE = Dy, Dy/Sm, Sm) phosphors were investigated. X-ray diffraction patterns exhibited that all the phosphors showed a monoclinic system with a main (112) diffraction peak, irrespective of the concentration and type of activator ions. The grain size showed a slightly decreasing tendency as the concentration of $Sm^{3+}$ ions increased. The excitation spectra of the $LaNbO_4:Dy^{3+}$, $Sm^{3+}$ phosphor powders consisted of a strong charge transfer band centered at 259 nm in the range of 220-290 nm and five weak peaks. The emission spectra of the $La_{0.95}NbO_4$:5 mol% $Dy^{3+}$ phosphors exhibited two intense yellow and blue bands centered at 575 nm and 479 nm respectively, which resulted from the $^4F_{9/2}{\rightarrow}^6H_{13/2}$ and $^4F_{9/2}{\rightarrow}^6H_{15/2}$ transitions of $Dy^{3+}$. As the concentration of $Sm^{3+}$ was increased, the intensity of the yellow emission band was gradually decreased, while those of orange and red emission bands centered at 604 and 646 nm began to appear and reached maxima at 5 mol%, and then decreased rapidly with further increases in the $Sm^{3+}$ concentration. These results indicated that white light emission could be realized by controlling the concentrations of the $Dy^{3+}$ and $Sm^{3+}$ ions incorporated into the $LaNbO_4$ host crystal.
