This paper deals with the operating characteristics of induction motors with broken rotor bar, stator winding inter-turn short and their complex fault conditions. The considered operating characteristics are phase current, torque and speed. Since the operating characteristics of induction motors are directly related to their slip conditions, this paper built the experimental set to adjust the speed of induction motor with a permanent magnet synchronous generator connected to a load bank. From the various experimental results, it is shown that the faults do not highly affect on the operating characteristics of induction motors in low slip conditions, but the fault characteristics can be easily found in larger slip conditions.

Our residential architecture and furniture have developed their unique formative characteristics under the influence of the natural environment as well as under socio-cultural influence. In order to understand such characteristics of our residential architecture and furniture, we need to clarify similarities and differences through comparative study from various perspectives. The present study purposed to examine the effects of mutual relations among Yangban's residential architecture and their furniture in the Chosun Dynasty on their formative characteristics, to identify the formative characteristics of shapes, materials, colors, patterns and decorations found in the residential architecture and their furniture, and to make a comparative analysis of the formative characteristics of the residential buildings and their furniture. This research will provide a ground for reinterpreting our culture and help to apply Korean culture identity to today's interior and furniture design.

This study was begun on the premise that architecture which has the definite disposition for survival even in the urban, social structure of that uncertainty and constructs specialty is biomorphic architecture. This study was made with the following four specific purposes largely. First, through the theoretical investigation of biomorphic architecture that appears in the tendency that mordern architecture develops into the architecture of do-stereotype and new form, its meaning and definition are examined. Second, the analysis of biomorphic architecture is investigated and the generation causes are applied architecturally and generate biomorphic architecture is made. Third, by analyzing the material expression characteristics of biomorphic architecture, the meaning and possibility of architecture, which expresses the vitality of organism, as the material expression characteristics of biomorphic architecture, are investigated. The material expression characteristics was deduced through the generation background of biomorphic architecture. The material expression characteristics of biomorphic architecture is the various modeling by smart-network and the response system of sensitivity poly-logue.

The purpose of this research is to find out environmental characteristics of elementary school children's room, and determine the relationship between children's room environment and their personality. The finding showed that environmental characteristics of children's room has relationship with children's personality. Such environmental characteristics as convenience, order, originality, safety, and territoriality had a direct and high relationship with children's personality, while such environmental characteristics as accessibility, ability to express, comfortability, privacy, and social interaction had indirect relationship with children's personality through three intervening variables. The finding further said that achievement motivation and reflectiveness of children's personality were the most influenced by children's room environmental characteristics. The environmental characteristics that are the most influential to children's personality were found to be order.

This research focuses on internet advertisement success factors derived from the relevant researches and clarified the concept of user and information characteristics. The corresponding determinants are suggested such as organizational characteristics, user characteristics, and information characteristics. Success factor of internet advertisement is used by user attitude. We then examine the impact of corresponding determinants on the success factors. Hypotheses on their characteristics were tested for 174 persons. The results indicated that organizational characteristic, user characteristic and information characteristic was partly found as a positive impact on the internet advertisement success while quality of innovation and purchase promotion traits were not significant.

This paper introduces the fundamentals of the conventional LC low-pass filter circuit in the fractional domain. First, we study the new fundamentals of fractional-order LC low-pass filter circuit including the pure real angular frequency, the pure imaginary angular frequency and the short circuit angular frequency. Moreover, sensitivity analysis of the impedance characteristics and phase characteristics of the LC low-pass filter circuit with respect to the system variables is studied in detail, which shows the greater flexibility of the fractional-order filter circuit in designs. Furthermore, from the filtering property perspective, we systematically investigate the effects of the system variables (LC, frequency f and fractional orders) on the amplitude-frequency characteristics and phase-frequency characteristics. In addition, the detailed analyses of the cut-off frequency and filter factor are presented. Numerical experimental results are presented to verify the theoretical results introduced in this paper.

The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of residential interior design according to social classes in Korean television dramas. To achieve the study purpose content analysis through slides and video tapes was used. Eighty three houses out of twenty eight dramas from 1990 to 1996 were classified into three classes ; upper class middle-upper class middle-lower class. Those houses were analyzed based one the five review points : total interior images finishing materials window treatments furniture and accessories. The results of the study were as follows ; (1) In the general characteristics of the house in Korean television dramas there were distinct differences in age job of householders and house types by classes. (2) In the characteristics of living-room interior design in the television dramas there were distinct differences according to social classes in interior images floor coverings furniture styles and accessories. (3) In the characteristics of master bedroom in the television dramas there were a little differences according to classes. (4) In the characteristics of kitchen and dining room in the television dramas there were differences according to classes

Continuously variable damper can yield diverse damping forces for a single damping velocity. It is widely used in the semi-active suspension system since, with right control logics, it can enhance ride comfort compared to the passive damper while not degrading driving safety. A key to the successful design of the continuously variable damper is the knowledge of its complex and nonlinear characteristics. In this paper, research has been done for analyzing characteristics of the continuously variable damper. Various damper components have been investigated and their effects upon the force-velocity characteristics of the damper have been examined. The effects of the damper characteristics change upon ride comfort and driving safety have also been investigated by numerical simulations.

The mount suppliers are providing limited information on the dynamic characteristics of the mounts to some designers and some manufacturers of the high-precision machines. In this technical study, the experimental review was carried out about dynamic characteristics of five kinds of commercial passive mounts sold in the market. The dynamic characteristics, natural frequency and damping ratio, extracted from experimental tests were compared to the materials supplied by mount makers. In order to predict the performance of the high-precision machines with mounts, exact values of the dynamic characteristics of mounts should be used in the stage of numerical analysis.

Solar, as an ideal renewable energy, has inexhaustible, clean and safe characteristics. However, solar energy is an extreme intermittent and inconstant energy source. In order to improve the photovoltaic system efficiency and utilize the solar energy more fully, and the DC current vary with the irradiation, it is necessary to study the characteristics of photovoltaic I-V according to the external factors. This paper presents the analysis of characteristics of photovoltaic I-V according to the irradiation. The results show that the DC current of the photovoltaic system are increased along with the increasing values of irradiation.
