Moderating Effect of Board Independency on the Relations between TMT's Characteristics and Firm's Internationalization (중국 기업 최고경영자 팀의 배경특성과 국제화 간의 관계와 이사회 독립성의 조절효과에 대한 연구)

  • This study examines the relationships between TMT's characteristics - international education background ratio, international job experience ratio, international related professionals ratio- and the degree of firm's internationalization. It also examines the moderating effect of independent board on those relationships. The results of multiple regression analysis show that the ratio of TMT's foreign job experience is positively related to firm's internationalization. On the other hand, both international education background ratio and international related professionals ratio do not significantly related to firm's internationalization. Regarding the moderating effects. independent boards weaken the positive relationship between TMT's foreign education background ratio and firm's internationalization. Whereas they strengthen the positive relationship between TMT's international education background ratio and firm's internationalization. The findings of this study imply that Chinese firms should consider the interaction effects between the TMT and board on their decisions of internationalization.

  • This study is an empirical analysis completed based on a survey of the members of major construction companies and is analyzed to verify the relationship between the ethical characteristics of major construction companies and firm's competitiveness and its effects. In this study, based on previous researches in domestic and foreign, the factors that are affected by the business ethics were analyzed, and the competitiveness of firms, which is a dependant variable, was divided into four different types: quality, price, sales, and promotion. The proposal and final conclusion regarding the relationship between job satisfaction and concentration was made after the investigation of research hypothesis. The conclusions described below:(By the Linear regression analysis) 1. The product competitiveness is affected by moral competence, will to act ethical management, transparency of fairness, customers, and social responsibility. 2. The price competitiveness is affected by will to act ethical management, transparency of fairness, customers, and social responsibility.

Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment of Quality Improvement Coordinators in General Hospitals (종합병원 질향상 사업 담당자의 직무만족과 조직몰입에 관한 연구)

  • This study was planned to provide basic data for activating quality improvement by genera hospital with more than 400 beds across the country, of which 65 coordinators answered. Main results of the study are as follows.. 1. Job satisfaction and organizational commitment by individual characteristics were compared. It was revealed that the sense of self-efficacy was related to job satisfaction positively. But job satisfaction and organizational commitment by locus of control showed no significant difference. 2. In terms of the characteristics of QI activities, the active participation of QI coordinators in QI planning process and smooth communication among hospital staffs were showed positive relationship to job satisfaction significantly. 3. Also support system was proposed as most significant variable related to the job satisfaction and the organizational commitment of QI coordinators. Especially support to QI activities by CEO's, seniors, and other hospital staff was a factor to enhance the job satisfaction and organizational commitment of QI coordinators. 4. In the aspect of organizational culture, culture which were tendency to be recognized high autonomy in their work and organizational identity strongly and to operate reasonable compensation system were related to job satisfaction and organizational commitment positively. The more formalized climate, supportive communication, cooperative teamwork and promoting creative/risk take behavior, it showed the higher organizational commitment. 5. For the aspect of QI job characteristics, QI coordinators' job satisfaction was high when QI office was arranged for independent department which was exclusively in charge of QI activities and their role is exclusively in charge of QI. It can be concluded that organizational support in the aspect of relation and finance and efforts of encouraging their motivation and providing on the job training program are need.

The Effect of Ownership and Independence of Board of Directors on Corporate Performance in China (이사회 소유지분과 독립성이 중국 상장기업성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - We examine empirically the relationship between the board of directors and the corporate performance using board characteristics related variables. Design/methodology/approach - We empirically test the hypotheses using fixed effects models (FEM), using data of 3,703 listed non-financial companies in China from 2010 to 2019. Findings - First, the ownership of board of directors is positively related to ROA. Second, the size of the board of directors is positively related to ROA. Third, there is no evidence that interaction between characteristic variables related to the board of directors affect the corporate performance. Research implications or Originality - These results show that as the board of directors has larger ownership, the degree of identity of interest between stock holders and the board becomes bigger to reduce agency cost, then it lets the board make decisions to improve the corporate performance. In addition, as the board of directors becomes bigger, the board has strong independence to play the role of monitoring and advising, then it leads to improvement of corporate performance.

A pilot study on remake of dental prosthesis of dental laboratory working (치과보철물의 재제작 실태에 관한 예비조사)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to verify the remake rate and cause of dental prosthesis and to investigate major factors of remake of dental prosthesis. Methods: This study carried out self-administered questionnaire survey from 126 nationwide dental laboratory CEO and directors, which was conducted from September to October in 2016. Results: Total remake rate of dental prosthesis was 10.1% at the nationwide dental laboratories. It was in order of remake rate of dental prosthesis 11.8% for CAD/CAM, 11.5% for porcelain and 11.0% for implant prosthesis. Error of clinical impression was the highest remake cause(63.7%). Nevertheless, dental laboratory take the responsibility of expense for remake of dental prosthesis, regardless of remake cause(67.4%). There was no relation between dental laboratory characteristics and the remake rate of dental prosthesis(p>.05). Conclusion : The remake rate of dental prostheses should be reduced to minimize the economic loss of dental laboratories and raise dental prosthesis satisfaction. It is required to communicate of dentist, dental technicians, and patients, moreover, undistorted information about oral environment should be provided to the dental technicians.

  • There are two principal routes for the Asia-North America containerized cargo, that of Asia-West Coast and Asia-East Coast. On the West Coast, the Asia-Los Angeles, dominate the commerce, whereas on the Asia-East Coast it's the Panama Canal. Each of these routes has different characteristics. All are similar in that each is the door to the commerce of containerized cargo originating in Asia; each combines maritime and overland transportation; each has important intermodal connections and is able to distribute cargo throughout the West and East Coasts of the United States. Each route also has its port of preference that has the necessary infrastructure, equipment and intermodal connections. For example, in the case of the Port of Los Angeles, in spite of some of its advantages, it has several serious problems due to the interminable containerized cargo traffic that must be solved rapidly and satisfactorily in order to progress. In this paper, we would like to show the problems of two main routes.

A Study on Performance Improvement and Perception Difference of SMEs Using TPB: Focusing on Corporate Ethical Responsibility Activities, Personal Characteristics and POS

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to elucidate the perception differences between CEOs and employees, and to derive a plan for improving performance by using theory of planned behavior (TPB) to enhance the competitiveness of SMEs exposed to various difficulties until recently. Research design, data and methodology - A total of 238 valid questionnaires were collected for CEOs and members of SMEs. In order to clarify the difference of perception, independent sample t-test and multi-group analysis using AMOS were conducted. Simple regression analysis and structural equation were used to confirm whether the theory of planned behavior was applied at the level of SME. Results - The CEO group is more aware of company's ethical responsibility activities and organizational support than the group of employees, and collectivism contributes more to organizational development than individualism tendency. Also, the theory of planned behavior is applied to the SME level as well. Conclusion - This study suggest that CEOs need to accept the pluralism of their members for the development of SMEs. In addition, it is necessary to form a consensus on ethical responsibility activities that corporations are performing by supporting diverse strategies and members' participation in management decision-making.

  • The objective of this study is offering new on line business model for automotive market. In order for the research aim, we conduct direct in-depth interviews with CEO, including analysis of business patterns on eight automotive firms in Gwangju city. As a result, we suggest new business model so called, Online to offline (o2o) that combines advantages in both off-line and on-line business. Techniques that o2o automotive companies may employ include in-store pick up of items purchased online, allowing customers. Purchasing the automotive is not only a car but also services including insurance, warrant services. o2o business model suggested shows the operating of the goods and service sale. When it comes to characteristics of automotive conventional sale patterns, utilization of the online-to-offline commerce has not eliminated the advantages that e-commerce companies have. That model can enhance the new values for customers as well as new market creation. Also, this new business model (o2o) can contribute the emerging industry business model installed based in particular, emergence of Iot (Internet of thing) in terms of sharing knowledge and information between enterprise and customers.

A Study on the priority of core competencies for the "Korean Hidden Champion(K Champ)" : Focused on the manufacturing SME's in Gyeongsangnam-do

  • In a rapidly changing global environment and the massive development in IT technology, Manufacturing SMEs have difficulties in lack of resources and competencies continued to have strong growth potential "Korean Hidden Champion(K Champ)". In order to overcome the difficulties of Manufacturing SMEs, we examined the core competencies using the AHP and proposed the K Champ development strategy. The implications in the academic is as follows: First, the suggestions for development strategy plan was drawn for the K Champ's core competencies with the recognized importance by the CEO or business executives. Secondly, the manufacturing SMEs were broken down by industry structural characteristics variables(sales amounts, industry sectors, business types and delivery methods) and the importance was investigated, analyzed and clarified. This study is intended to develop strategies of Gyeongsangnam-do manufacturing SMEs for K Champ such as German 'Hidden Champion'. We identified the importance of the level of core competencies and the coherent alternative policy direction and practical alternative were proposed. These mean the concrete relationship of core competencies for the K Champ transition and suggest a realistic directional needed for the local manufacturing SMEs in the proposed 'Government's Development Policy for Korean Hidden Champion'.
