Receive operating characteristic (ROC) approach can be employed to rank candidate genes from a microarray experiment, in particular, for the biomarker development with the purpose of population screening of a cancer. In the cancer microarray experiment based on n patients the researcher often wants to compare the tumor tissue with the normal tissue within the same individual using a common reference RNA. Ideally, this experiment produces n pairs of microarray data. However, it is often the case that there are missing values either in the normal or tumor tissue data. Practically, we have $n_1$ pairs of complete observations, $n_2$ "normal only" and $n_3$ "tumor only" data for the microarray. We refer to this data set as a mixed data set. We develop a ROC approach on the mixed data set to rank candidate genes for the biomarker development for the colorectal cancer screening. It turns out that the correlation between two ranks in terms of ROC and t statistics based on the top 50 genes of ROC rank is less than 0.6. This result indicates that employing a right approach of ranking candidate genes for the biomarker development is important for the allocation of resources.

본 연구에서는 인간의 제품에 대한 이미지 연상과 관련된 인지 반응 특성을 파악하고, 제품 선호도 및 경험과의 상관관계 분석을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여, 휴대폰과 제안형 제품사진을 실험자극으로 선정하여, 연상되는 감성어휘를 표현하는 실험과 각 제품사진의 선호도를 평가하는 실험을 진행하였다. 실험 결과로부터 두 가지 결론이 도출되었다. 먼저, 사용 경험이 있는 제품에 대한 언어적 지각 반응에서는 비유 언어와 정서적 이미지의 표현을 혼용하며 선호도 수준이 높아짐에 따라 정서적 표현의 적용이 많아진다. 두 번째는, 제품의 비사용 경험은 선호도와 관계없이 인지 대상을 단지 지각적으로 이해하고 자신의 일반적 경험 정보와 유사성을 고려하여 대응시키는 반응을 유발한다.

This is a thesis about the experiment of comparison characteristic of power and exhaust gas in the same condition between diesel engine that is equipped turbocharger different from response power to increase effectiveness of the engine which is recently used in a lot of industry which requires high power. Resulting of the experiment with natural aspiration diesel engine and turbocharger diesel engine, difference in low speed is not significant, but in high speed, effectiveness of turbocharger diesel engine is much higher than the other one. In other hand, in exhaust gas experiment, turbocharger model exhausts more $NO_X$ and $O_2$, but it doesn't significantly affect the result when it comes with decreasing of $CO_2$ and effectiveness of increased power characteristic. As a result, the turbocharger diesel engine is economically effective comparing with the natural aspiration diesel engine.

A novel characteristic value extraction method based on morphological spatial frequency is proposed. Morphological spatial frequency defined by morphological pattern distribution function is introduced. Superiority of the method was proved for various images by experiment. Furthermore the fact that the proposed method does not need threshold to obtain binary image provides its applicability to content-based image retrieval.

This paper presents a theoretical approach to describe the vibration characteristics of a piezoelectric shell transducer. Governing equations for the motion of the piezoelectric shell are classified and simplified according to the boundary conditions. Applied mechanical and electrical boundary conditions have yielded each characteristic equation for circumferential, longitudinal, and radial motions of the piezoelectric shell transducer. Theoretical calculations of the resonance frequencies have been compared with the results obtained by the experiment and have shown a good agreement.

This paper presents dynamic characteristic of Permanment Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor(PMLSM). In order to analyze dynamic characteristics, simulink of Matlab is used. The measuring system of dynamic characteristics is manufactured and experiment results are compared with simulation results.

Practically, induction surface hardening is used widely to enhance the local strength of structure. In this study, Fatigue limit and its S-T characteristic for raw and induction hardened specimen of SCM440 is studied experimentally. The life prediction was considered by Juvinall's equation and its predicted result is compared with experiment.
